Hands down the best dal soup I’ve ever had! The most flavorful dishes all around, and our absolute favorite spot for curries in the entire Bay Area. Great service, excellent prices, and the freshest ingredients!

Everything was solid except the prices, and for a moment I had an existential crisis where I was like, «Why the FUCK are you doing this, you know you’re just gonna Niagara Falls the toilet tonight, like, those prices and this food?» but I went ahead, and man oh man, satisfying! Except those prices! Garlic cheese naan is a must-try, fluffy and chewy, and goes great with the tikka masala. Complimentary rice, as they should, with those prices! Maybe I’m being bitter, but I remember a time when $ 10 bought you $ 20 worth of this.

Yum! Was walking through my old stomping grounds looking for a place to grab dinner with my boo. We happened upon this place and had an amazing meal. We shared pumpkin chana curry, palak paneer, brown rice, an order of garlic naan; So bomb! The flavors and textures were just right. The spinach wasn’t watery, the chickpeas were cooked to perfection. The chai tea strutted its spicy flavors with the right amount of sweetness and was served piping hot. The service was amiable despite our arrival at 9pm(they close at 9:30). Love that they source ingredients from their farm!

My boyfriend and I decided to come here for date night. We were definitely not disappointed! The food was amazing. We had the pumpkin lamb masala and chicken vindaloo.

The service was dignified. Quiet and efficient. Ambience was very relaxing especially the music. Food? Couldn’t also be good, could it? It is! The garlic man wasn’t too greasy. The vegetable momo looked like shiny porcelain. Tandoori salmon was not over-cooked. Chana pumpkin curry made from their own farm-grown pumpkins was the real deal. They had no problem when we showed up with our own bottle of wine. Yeah, baby, Himalayan tandoori and curry house is an affordable, intimate antidote to modern civilization. It was perfect for our make-up date.

WOW! Blown away by the warm and positive customer service. I ordered the vegetable lunch special to go, and it is DELICIOUS. 5⁄5 stars, will come back and eat here again.

Goat curry, pumpkin channa curry and coconut curry were absolutely fantastic. Look, unlike most folks, I love goat. And this goat was devine, especially when paired with their cilantro naan. Fresh ingredients show through in the cooking. What a great spot for fresh flavorful food.

Tried this place because of its Unilocal reviews and it was everything all the good reviewers said it would be! Simply put … — Don’t listen to those who tell you the portions are small. They are not. You can order a family share size of each dish or individual. Those who posted pics of smaller dishes ordered the individual size, not shared size. It was more than enough for each of us on our individual sizes. If you want to share, simply order the shared size, which comes at a price discount as well. — MUSTTRYTHE MOMOs!!! My first time ever having them. Saw someone post a pic of them on here and had to try it! — Mango chutney! Yummmmm! — Curries very good, not greasy! Generous with meat! — Spice level was spot on to what each of us ordered. I like extreme spicy and ordered it that way and that was exactly what I got. My son ordered mild and that is what he got. My husband wanted middle of the road and again, it was spiced to perfection. — The naan was good but so so but who goes for indian just for the naan! — The service was superb! LOVETHISPLACE! I will be back every time I travel through their neck of the woods!

Best Goat curry I’ve tried in the Bay Area. Slow cooked to perfection. Wife loved her pumpkin curry. Garlic naan was crispy and fluffy. Our favorite new spot.

We were quoted 45 minutes for our delivery but it took them an hour and 45 to get here. We ordered through Unilocal.I opened the chat to talk to someone when they hit the hour mark, just to make sure we didn’t get forgotten, and even the Unilocal chat didn’t respond to me until after about 2 minutes before our food got here. When the food finally did arrive, the driver called us and told me I had to meet him on the street because he heard a dog barking inside of an apartment upstairs. Mind you, it was cold and raining. Our food was cold and not particularly enjoyable. We got ripped off, hard.

JUST received my delivery order, so this review is extra fresh! The good: — Fast delivery(45 mins) — Good variety. Lots of vegan and gluten-free options. So many types of Naan! — Organic brown rice is available, at no extra charge The disappointments: — Samosas were sad! The crust was not crispy and flaky, but tough and stretchy. I practically had to tear them open, the crust wouldn’t cut with a knife. — Skimpy portions on the samosa dipping sauces. Barely enough for 1 samosa, and this order comes with 2(if you’re dining in, this isn’t a problem, as you can just ask for more). — Veggie Curry was somewhat bland, I had to add a bunch of chili flakes for flavor — Entrée portions are small for the price. Seems like you’d get better value & quality from dining in. But for delivery, the experience was just okay.

Food was pretty good but I thought that it was slightly overpriced. We didn’t get alot of food for what we were paying. The flavors were just ok, I have been to Nepal and expected a bit more authenticity. The service was pretty good though.

Visited the Himalayan Tandoori & Curry House at around 530pm on a Saturday night, mainly because of their farm to table approach /no GMO etc. Plenty of seats and we greeted and seated quickly. Ordered a glass of sauvignon blanc, pumpkin curry(medium) and paneer tikka masala curry(medium). The waiter brought us a glass of cabernet sauvignon and insisted that my wife had pointed to that, not the sauvignon blanc. He had previously said he was new so we cut him some slack. Pumpkin curry had good flavour. Paneer tikka masala was very mild, pretty sure they didn’t take note of the fact I asked for medium. Portions were ok, could have done with a bit more rice. Prices were reasonable — approx $ 13 for a main, $ 8 for a wine.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile. I don’t think I’ve been here since I had a Gal’s lunch with Toni M and Anna(visiting from Australia) when it was a different restaurant. So today I had lunch with the lovely Toni M and was pleased to confirm all her positive remarks about Himalayan Tandoori. We were warmly greeted by Umesh, the manager. i felt like we were family or least old friends. Our server was so sweet and welcoming. Even before the food was served I was touched by the gracious service. They have 4 Express Lunch Specials(Monday to Thursday): Dahl Bhat Veg Curry($ 10.99) Dal Bhat Lamb Curry($ 11.99) Dal Bhat Chicken Curry)$ 10.99) which Toni had Veggie Coconut Curry(#11.99) which I had Lunches come with lentil soup(so so delicious), white or brown rice, naan and salad. The lentil soup was perfectly seasoned and served hot but not scalding. Toni enjoyed her chicken curry which she had had before. I loved my coconut curry dish which was very tasty. I also ordered the garlic naan which was warm and freshly made. Vey good too. I’m so glad I rediscovered this place. I completely trust Toni’s opinion on every restaurant she’s reviewed. I’ll definitely try it again… soon. Got to try the momos next time.

Since my initial review in January we have become regulars here. We have run into friends and former colleagues. The food continues to be excellent and the hospitality warm. Umesh remembers Alan’s need for low sodium in his food and tonight he remembered that the last time Alan ordered the Himalayan biryani it was too spicy. Tonight we ordered momos to start. We consulted w/our server whether she would recommend chicken or lamb and followed her recommendation of chicken. They were delicious! Alan ordered the biryani again and I ordered the lamb tandoori, a generous serving so huge I brought two large, tender chunks of lamb home, as I did the last time I ordered it. Most wonderfully, tonight Umesh greeted us w/delight, expressing his surprise that I was out and about so soon after my hip replacement surgery! He even remembered the surgery date. I am speechless at the warmth of the hospitality on top of the deliciousness of the food.

We have been here a few times now, finding the place originally on Groupon. They have a great deal which was a strong influence to try this place out. The place is very low key, but fills up quickly. I think others are catching on that this place is a 5 star establishment with a $$ menu. We always order the Samosas, they are so delicious and big with flakey crust served with the tamarind and cilantro sauce. You receive a cup of lentil soup as a complimentary starter, which is great. We order the garlic naan and flying horse beer to share and drink. We like to order the sizzling mixed tandoori grill, although we have tried several dishes. The rice is always perfectly cooked and although we often share the main courses, it’s always quite enough food for two. This place has quickly become our new favorite spot and the groupon deals are just too good to pass up. Winner winner, Himalayan dinner.

The food was okay, the restaurant has a nice ambiance and atmosphere. Servers were really nice, remembered to fill our waters. We went to check out this place because of their produce from their own farm. Im not really sure if the bellpeppers and onions on tandoori was from their farm. But they advertised their pumpkin, since they had an entire menu for their pumpkin dishes. The chicken tandoori was kinda bland and the vegie momo was too salty. The curry was alright. But again that is my personal opinion :)

They serve an addictive lentil soup to start. It’s just enough to let you know you’re in for a treat. Sublime coconut curry sauce, Himalayan biryani is really something special too.

Everything delicious… from start to finish. Service excellent. Our only complaint is that the portions of food so delicious were too small to satisfy my large college boys. Only solution was to order more. Thank you.
