I was visiting the area, so I called around to a few places and ended up choosing this one. They had no wait, which was great. I was the only one there getting my nails done, which surprised me. She said they are busy at random times, so it’s probably best to call ahead. I found the salon the be clean and spacious. The ladies were quiet but friendly. Not being from the area, I forgot to pay for parking. However, one of the ladies went out and paid for a ticket to put into my car (which I paid her back for, of course!).
The prices were very reasonable. I had gel removal, gel color change, and pedicure for $ 37. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who needs to get their nails done. I got a lot of compliments on the results! No frills, minimal wait, reasonable prices, beautiful nails. It was just what I was looking for!

They did a decent job! Definitely not the best. They didn’t update their prices on their website, so it is more expensive!

Great customer service ! Mien is very professional and always does a fantastic job! She does fantastic eyebrows too ! Prices are reasonable… especially for the convenient downtown location. Mien is my favorite manicurist in the bay !!!

I normally go to another place and Berkeley I normally but she was full, so I came here because I knew it was a new place. No one was in there but me it took an extra long to have my nails done. it wasn’t as perfect as I normally would have it but Atoya did an okay job.
I’m going to give them one more chance by having a pedicure done soon.

The lady who did my nails was very nice, but she did a terrible job on my nails. They were messy and thick and looked like I painted them myself. She was also very slow to do my gel manicure. It’s convenient, but I won’t be going back

This place is reeeeaaalllly terrible.
The lady who helped me with gel manicure was kind, but she did seriously poor job. Unevenly applied, messy, and she first told me It is $ 13 for both regular and gel manicure, but after it was done, she charged me $ 26 (although I asked her on the phone and in person TWICE to make sure).
It was a very unpleasant experience., to be honest.
Not gonna go to this one again for sure.

Just had my hair and nails done today. Absolutely amazing! Mien is so nice and she take care of my nails and hair so well. Will definitely coming back to this salon regularly. :)

Love Hair & Nail is very clean and well decorated when you step into the salon. Their service and staff are exceptional and very attentive when you walked in.
It is hard to find a good hair dresser who does what you ask and actually do it well these days. Mien is by far the best hair dresser that I ever have. She is very welcoming and friendly when you step into the salon. She makes good recommendations if you are unsure what you like or how much you want to cut off. She makes sure before she start cut your hair. Normally I want just a trim because I want to keep my hair long but want to cut dead split ends. Mien listens to my needs and actually execute it well. Not many dressers does that. Many hair dressers cut more hair off even if I told them I want a trim. Mien does amazing job with long layer haircut. She make my long hair stylish with beautiful layers. It makes my hair feel so much lighter but my hair remains long. She is detail orientated and takes her time to make sure the layers are perfect. She also straightened and blow dry my hair after the hair which makes my hair look so beautiful. She knows how to make a customer happy! I highly recommend Mien to anyone who wants a great hair cut. I will definitely come back here again.

Come see Mien if you want to have a hair stylist who would listen and cuts your hair just the way you want it to be cut. I have had problem with hair stylists who always cut my hair shorter than I want them to even after i told them I want to keep the length. She takes her time to cut my hair and it always comes out perfect. I haven’t seen any other hair stylist since Mien started cutting my hair. I have had different hair styles cut by Mien, so far my favorite is the A line cut she gave me.

I called before going in so I was seated right away. Nice and fast service. I would come back again! I loved how my nails turned out (posted a pic). I was given a nice message at the end. I’m really glad this place is so close to my apartment and the price isn’t that bad.

Not the most zen like atmosphere: cluttered and budget, but the price is right and they do an ok job. $ 12 for a manicure and $ 28 for a mani — pedi. Good luck finding something cheaper in Berkeley, hell that’s the cheapest I’ve seen in the Bay Area!
No Essie here, a limited OPI, but enough to be fine. I only went the mani route this time and the tech was thorough with cuticles and polish, not much hand massaging and only fan dry here. I do like have some light rays and heat hit the nails, but all good.
Plenty of massaging chairs for pedis which is a great sign and FYI: I didn’t spy any mags; bring your own.
They do take credit card which is a definite bonus!

I walked in last Sunday for the first time and had a great experience. It wasn’t busy at the time, so someone assisted me immediately.
I needed an urgent mani for a company BBQ. The nice lady gave me a massage and made me feel very pampered. She was very gentle, friendly, and did a great job!
They don’t have the typical nail polish brand but I really liked the bubble gum pink I chose.
It has been a week now and my nails still look perfect! Love this place, next time I am going to try the hot wax mani and padi. :)

This place is awesome!!! I’ve never had such wonderful customer service at a nail salon before. They have a great menu and the prices are wonderful. I got a full mani/​pedi and they massaged me with hot rocks and it felt really cool. I’m very happy with the way my fingers and toes turned out. I will definitely be going back for more services in the future :)

BEWARE!!! I just left this business crying!!!
I requested tips that looked natural and thin. What I got was chuncky, uneven, croked and thick nails. When I saw the finished result I thought of how embarrassed I would be to have my nails look the way they did at the dinner date I was going to that evening. Furthermore, they glued the fake nail directly to my skin on most of my fingers. When I told them I was unsatisfied the guy, presumably the owner, got very upset stating that they looked fine. I pointed out the issues and he disregarded any attempts I made to show him the glaring issues. He wouldnt even look at my nails ip close to verify — he would just immediately say they looked fine. I tried to explain but then he said, «everyone else thinks they look fine». The only other person tgat saw them was his empkoyee that did the nails! So I said, «would anyone take a look at these?» to other patrons because I couldnt believe his attempt to dismiss me. Then he got upset again and said that I was ruining business for him by bothering the other customers.
Then he got even more upset and said that they had worked on my nails a long time and I wasnt going to get a «free lunch». I told him I wasn’t trying to get anything for free… If they could remove the nails I’d happily go. He said he would charge me both for getting the nails and having them removed because it would take more of his time.
Then he said that I should have told him in the beginning that I didnt like the nails so that they didnt «waiste time» on me. How was I supposed to know how they would turn out???
Thats when I started to cry. I just wanted them off but didnt want to give these people another cent. Also, I didnt want any more insults so I just paid and left. I just had to get out of there.

This is where I get my eyebrows threaded. I don’t know the name of the woman who does it, but she is GOOD. She makes my brows look perfect every time and it only costs $ 12. And she’s very nice. This place feels a little disorganized in a way I can’t totally explain, and a little run down. And I haven’t gotten any other services here, so I can’t vouch for the nails and hair and waxing. But eyebrow threading. Yes.

So unprofessional I’ve been here twice and both occasions I’ve left unhappy I don’t know why I went back after the first time. I asked questions throughout and I got no proper response or answers. Prices are average but the quality of gel nails is atrocious I got the mood color and it was lumpy and full of shadows. The lady doing the nails rushes and when I questioned her about the gel being uneven she responded by saying it was due to the color I picked. Don’t ever go here!

So let me just say I got a Brazilian wax here and considering they probably do more nail than waxing… I think she did the job well enough. Brazialians are hard to judge because it’s painful experience to start with me on top of that I went back to shaving between waxes which I hear increases the pain. I have had painless waxes before, but this was not one. This is not one of them. I would not recommend it for the first time waxer, but if you’ve had a few and you are no longer scared of the process this place gets the job done and cheaply. Pedicure was standard and good!

Reasonably priced, open late even on a Sunday and the owner is so nice!

This place was GREAT! Friendly, spectacular service, clean, and well-​priced.
I got an acrylic full-​set and she did an AMAZING job! I get my nails done every two weeks so I know careful work when I see it. She took her time to make sure every nail was even, filed perfectly, and she was efficient, yet very very thorough. I asked for pointed nails and she did a great job. I always get the pointy tips but some places don’t really file them well enough.
I have literally tried almost every nail salon in downtown and North Berkeley (Anna Bella, Lan nails, JV nails, Time for Nails, etc.) and I always get the same service which is a full set with pointy tips. Love Hair & Nail offered the best price and service. I paid $ 28 for my full set– cannot beat that! Other nail salons nearby charge around $ 30+ and do not do such a detailed job. They close at 8pm and I arrived after 7pm. They were SO friendly and did not rush me or tell me to come back another day like some places (*cough cough* you know who you are), so the friendliness alone was a nice change from what I’m used to in Berkeley. She stayed well after closing time to ensure that I am satisfied with my nails… which I totally am!
I used to go alllll the way to SF for a decent nail salon so I am very excited about making this my new regular salon. They’re in a convenient location downtown and are fairly new. This review is for nails but they also do hair. Since I was so happy with the way my nails turned out, I would definitely come back here to try their hair services.
Would definitely recommend this place if you’re as particular about your nails as I am, but wanna stay on a budget. If you want a careful, thorough nail job, this is the place.

This place is new and just opened this summer. I sauntered in after my after-​yoga-​lunch at the Japanese restaurant next door. There was no wait at all in the middle of the afternoon, but with their service I don’t expect that to last for long.
Wow! From the moment I entered, the ladies were kind and professional. It is clean and bright inside. As I sat down for a spa pedicure, I was offered water or hot green tea. It just kept getting better from there. They use hot rocks to massage your feet and legs during your pedicure! Um. Yes.
The price was extremely decent (less than $ 40 for eyebrow and lip waxing AND spa pedicure with a design) and the service was top notch. I will most definitely be going the next time I need pampering and I am on this side of town. Try them out! You will not be disappointed.
