My friends and I used Vivi for our Black & White Ball on Friday night. She was very pleasant to work with and she did a remarkable job. All three of us were impressed with our make overs and WILL use her again for our next event. Thanks Vivi for such a wonderful job. We were turning heads all night!!!

I’ve used Vivi twice now, once as a bridesmaid and the second time for my own bridal party. She’s done excellent work both times for both hair and makeup. In particular, I love what she is able to achieve with hair styling. She is professional and prompt and her prices are very reasonable for the Bay Area. I would definitely recommend her for special event styling!

Searching for a make-​up artist should probably have been high on our (referring to my wife) priority list since she has dry skin and eczema issues on the face and neck. But that obviously didn’t happen so we were scrambling around in May to hire someone for August 2014. Luckily, we found VIvi and she was so delightful to work with! We originally was going to see her for the trial session and use that make up for our engagement photos, but at the last moment, she had a panic attack and worried that if she didn’t like her make up during the trial session, we’d be stuck with awful engagement photos. We called Vivi in a rush and luckily she was able to schedule me for a «pre-​trial» session. She knew she would hire her after the first session because Vivi just knew what looked good and what didn’t look good. Vivi even managed to make the make up feel light and airy so my wife didn’t scratch the eczema on her face. Some make up artists really like to ask for your opinion and base their next move on your reaction. But Vivi was confident and straight forward with her decisions and we really valued that. Vivi never took notes on what products/​colors she used on my wife, but each subsequent session just seemed to improve and improve. On the day of the wedding, Vivi arrived on time and got everyone taken care of in just the nick of time. The best thing about Vivi is that she doesn’t book a year out in her schedule. She picks and chooses her clients around her family’s weekend plans which we think is very noble of her. So if you’re in a crunch for time, call Vivi and see if she can help you out!

After seeing the great reviews on Unilocal,I made an appointment with Vivi for a wedding hair/​make-​up trial. I brought along the birdcage veil I planned to wear on the wedding day; my only instructions were «I don’t want to look like a clown!» The results were beautiful… Vivi created a stunning up-​do and my face looked very natural… no clowns in sight. Obviously, Vivi was going to get me ready for my wedding! The wedding day went off without a hitch. Vivi came to my hotel right on time. Her time estimates were spot on. My make-​up and hair lasted all day/​night. My mother and mother-​in-​law also had make-​up done by Vivi and were very pleased with the results. On top of that, Vivi is just a lovely person. I would recommend her to any bride!

Vivi was referred to me by a friend (who also used her for a wedding event), and she came through for me after a bad hair trial with another stylist. She’s extremely nice and personable. She was easy to work with and listened to my suggestions. She did my hair for my wedding day, as well as my daughter’s. The look she gave me is exactly what I wanted, and I couldn’t have been happier. I would definitely use Vivi again for future events.

Vivi is beyond amazing. She did hair and makeup for my four bridesmaids and myself, never even taking a break. She is really talented and most importantly is easy to work with and pleasant to be around. She has a sharp eye for making each girl look great for the wedding day. She knows how to manage her time on the day of the wedding which is crucial as well. I would recommend her for any event or wedding where you need your hair and makeup done. My makeup and hair lasted for the whole wedding, even with a lot of dancing around which was impressive too. She also will come to your location which helps cut down get ready time for the day of. Vivi was amazing! She did my hair and makeup for my wedding and it was flawless all day! She was able to completely understand my vision and turn it into a reality. I have impossible thick long hair and she was able to do my hair and makeup effortlessly! I felt (and looked) like a goddess!!! I could not recommend her any higher! I wish I had more excuses to have her make me over! Not only is she incredibly talented and well trained but she is the most pleasant person! Even keeping in touch after our wedding to see how our honeymoon was! She is an angel!!!

For my wedding last November, I was so glad I went with Vivi! She was completely flexible, and able to turn my unintelligble murmurings of what I wanted into a style far beyond my expectations. The look I had was classic, understated, but also a far better rendition of myself– and didn’t look bare, or under or overdone. And, the hair and makeup were SOLID: no touchups needed! she also managed to make my incredibly short pixie cut look chic, which is commendable as I just don’t have much hair to work with. Also, throughout the entire process she was professional, timely with feedback, easy to work with, and managed to please my non-​English speaking Chinese mother and mother in law as well (totally takes talent here; that is a really tough demographic to work with!!). I would recommend her to anyone who needs makeup and hair services. Cash only, which is typical, and her prices are extraordinarily fair.

I just had my makeup and hair trial with VIVI last week and then had my engagement photoshoot. even though I spent too much time interrupting and asking questions during the first hour, she quickly finished my hair and makeup so that I can make it ontime to the engagement photos at the Berkeley marina.

Vivi is wonderful! I was actually looking to book with another makeup artist, but because she was already booked for my wedding day (July 2011) and so she recommended Vivi– and I’m glad she did!
Vivi is an extremely nice and wonderful person. She knew exactly what I wanted and how to do it. My bridesmaids also looked gorgeous! Vivi was able to bring out our natural beauty and make it pop. The makeup also lasted all day, just as she promised, considering that she came to my hotel room at 7am and my wedding reception ended at 9pm.
Vivi is definitely an expert at her job and I would absolutely recommend her for anyone who needs a hair and makeup artist on their special day!

Vivi did such a phenomenal job on my hair & make-​up. I have never felt more beautiful in my entire life. I know that I’m going to treasure that feeling forever. Vivi did hair and make-​up for me (the bride) and six bridesmaids for my July 2010 wedding. She arrived on time in the morning and stayed with us for eight hours with barely a break. Vivi was super sweet to everyone and got along great with all the girls. We we were all very impressed with her hair and make-​up skills. Seriously, the bridesmaids gushed about how they’d never had their make-​up make them look so good! She took her time with everyone to make sure everybody was happy with how they looked, but was quick and efficient. Some of the bridesmaids brought pictures of how they wanted their hair (and everyone was different), and she was able to create exactly the look that they wanted. As the bride, I was really happy with my make-​up and hair. I changed the hairstyle last minute, and she was able to pull everything off even though it was very different from our trial. She is very reasonably priced considering her skill and professionalism. I would recommend her to anyone planning to get married!

Vivi was the most patient, pleasant person I could have dreamed of for my wedding. I normally don’t wear make up so I had no idea what I wanted to look like. The only instructions I gave her were to make me look like me, only better for pictures. She spent three hours testing different looks on me, and the end result was amazing. Being Asian, I’ve had makeup done for me before that made me look like a panda bear. Many professionals don’t know how to apply makeup on Asian eyelids and try to define a lid that doesn’t really exist. So I really appreciated that Vivi knew how to work with the shape of eyes. She accented my features instead of trying to make my eyes look contoured. She was also very quick in getting my bridesmaids ready as well.
Vivi’s work on my makeup and hair was amazing, but the thing I appreciate most about Vivi was how calm and pleasant she was from the first conversation to the hug she gave me as I ran off her porch. She was warm and very flexible as she dealt with the high level of chaos that led up to my wedding. I highly recommend her to anyone as a makeup/​hair person.
