Lovely, clean, well-lit, well-cultivated store featuring local art as well as more mainstream comic books and graphic novels! I also found a first run copy of Wicked + The Divine!

Trickster is that space that you maybe didn’t know that you needed to know about — but you really do. Anita hosted a party for our non-profit(yay for community-building!), so I had a few chances to visit before the party. It is a gallery and retail space, and you could get lost in the choices of artists and materials that she has selected. The attention to visual layout is also really apparent in her selection of display tables and cases. Great stories behind procuring each piece, too. The work she chooses tends to be artists she knows personally and she genuinely wants to help them actually make a living from their artwork. Imagine that! The location is in the building with Casa de Chocolates… so look for the Trickster sandwich-board sign, then walk through the doors and down the hall, and prepare to fall in love!

Being a big fan of some great artists in the comic book/animation/illustration field, this shop is an awesome place to check out art prints, books, and select toys. Prices are pretty standard across the board for these kinds of things. So its just nice to have a local place where I can find these items instead of ordering online. The owner is nice and friendly, and is definitely knowledgeable on the items in the shop.

This is a great shop to buy cartoon art, look at cartoon art and meet the friendly knowledgeable staff. I love just to drop buy, my daughter goes to see what is new, and we’re never disappointed. Don’t miss the sign on the street, and venture in, the shop is at the back of the building — well worth the detour!

This is an amazing store, full of artwork that inspires. The selection of books and artist’s sketch books leaves me coming back and finding something new every time. I can’t think of any store that leaves me looking so forward to my next visit.

I love stopping into this fun, quirky shop. It has comic books, framed and unframed prints by local artists, and neat little baubles and doodads. If you’re looking for stationary you can’t find anywhere else, they have a small collection of notecards and postcards featuring the work of local artists(I love the ones by Nidhi Chanani). It’s set back in the building, so don’t be intimidated that you can’t see into it from the street — all you have to do is go down the hall and turn left! Once you’re there you’ll love the natural light and the art hung all the way up the walls to a high-airy ceiling.

This is an awesome place to look for affordable art prints from some of the best local artists in the bay area. There is also a small selection of comics and sketchbooks, many of which can only be found at Trickster. The owner, Anita is obviously a huge fan of everyone she chooses to represent. Definitely check out Trickster while you are in Berkeley.

Unlike any other art gallery. Original art work from industry artists in animation, games, film, writing, story, design, and more. Flip through sketch books and art books and see into the creative minds that make up this captivating collection at Tr! ckster. Check out prints and comic books of original stories. Take home fun unique toys and creations knowing there’s no other like it. Join the community by coming to some of the events. Trickster has a gallery hall entrance to their shop. So you can’t help eyeball the art as you make your way toward the shiny shop doors on the left. The shop is very inviting and friendly with a Modern Vintage feeling to the atmosphere. It’s impossible not to find pieces or books you can’t live with out. I could go on and on about the work and artists at this place but you should really see it for yourself.
