Castaways Waterfront Camprground

The best campground we have ever been to.
The hosts are amazing, ton of amenities, lots to do. We had plans in oc beach area and never went.
The sites and facilities were clean.
The place is very laid back, met some great people.

I really like Castaways! From the little beach to the tiki bar, from the activities, playground and pool to the store, deli, and firewood delivery, Castaways is so fun! When we were there they had a little carnival with bounce house, dunk tank, and some other little games that my young children loved! The carnival was perfectly managed and everyone had a great time. The food at the deli is good and the drinks at the bars are delicious. Mainly, the camping pads are some of the best no matter where in the park you are. The golf cart rentals are not the most expensive I’ve seen and really fun to drive around. But don’t worry too much if you don’t get a cart, all the amenities are quite walkable. Laundry rooms are a bit pricey at $ 2.50 per wash and the same per dry. I will come back to Castaways!

Loved it! My first trip to a campground anywhere. We stayed in a cottage. I had very low expectations but was pleasantly surprised! The cottage was lovely, clean, small but more than adequate for our group — two adults and two teens. The grounds itself: clean, people (both staff and guests) were very friendly. Loved the dog-​friendly vibe (although we didn’t bring our dogs). Nice beach, fun tiki bar, good deli and grill, great area — close to Ocean City and Assateague. We visited both and thoroughly enjoyed. We want to go back on the off-​season.

Great campground for everyone. There’s no need to even venture into ocean city. When you get here look up Robert, he’ll get you to where you need to go and help in every little way!

GREAT — location, views, tiki bar, splash pool, hot tub, dog beach, sand bar at low tide, jet skis.
WORST — Campground to actually speak with anyone on the phone. No one answers the phone regardless of what time you call. Don’t bother leaving a message, they do not call back.

This was such a fun spot! We went to see Lovin Cup play and they are great. You’re right by the water and there is the best breeze. A wonderful way to enjoy music outdoors!

This place is awesome! The location is great and easy to get to and they have shuttles into Ocean City and Assateague. The campground has a ton of stuff to do and is kept really nice and clean. The staff is very nice and friendly, especially Bernie, at the Tiki Bar!

The staff is very nice, the location for the most part is nice except for the center part of the park, not enough trees and the spots are right on each other. Personally the corporation that owns the place has over-​expanded the park. If you stay here try to get the places to the east.
There are activities for the kids and the beach area is nice. Has a little dog park and the places to sit to enjoy a beverage. Outside of the congestion that is taking place, there is very little to complain about the physical location. My biggest complaint is the drunks, security tries to say something to these people but there a few who are just idiots and cannot handle their alcohol, also there a few parents who do not control their kids. Guess these people expect to staff to babysit them. I love the tacking on fees for most of the services, for example, there is a new dog wash but you have to pay 5 dollars to use it. Even some of the activities, there is a cost. The spaghetti bingo night, you had to pay to get a small meal and drink, be prepared for that.
Make sure you read the list of rules, when you check in. Campers will receive a guide that list things to do, rules etc. I do think the 11 pm curfew for quiet is a bit draconian for the summer season, you expect campers to be quiet at 11 pm, are you kidding me?
I would never stay here in the summer season, from cruisers weekend to bikers week is not a good time for people who like the peace and quiet. The other issue is the cost, the prices are very high to camp here but that is the Ocean City area. Be prepared to open the wallet, but if you want to be pampered and pay the higher cost and can deal with loud drunks then I think you will have a good time. Hope this helps.

This is really a resort/​campground, lots of big sites the bathrooms and showers are spotless. The staff is friendly and helpful. I have been here for 3 one week stays in the last 3 years and it just gets better. The coffee and ice cream shop was new this year great coffee drinks at a fair price.

Love this campground ! Offers every amenity you can think of ! The staff is very friendly and helpful. We store our Rv there and couple of tires had gone flat. The staff helped us find a company to service our Rv and let us know when the work was completed.

This is our second camping trip, and absolutely loved staying at Castaways! Stayed in the Club Castaway’s Section site 20B. The welcome center was very nice, and the staff could not be not more friendly! Had no trouble backing into our site. Hooks up were very easy and accessible. The site also has a spot to park a vehicle. This park is very dog friendly, with many dog related amenities. The Camp Store was well stocked and had a lot of useful items. We came early in the season so cannot speak of the pools, beach or Jackspot Tiki Bar since it was too cold and they were closed till next month. Lots of work was being done to update many features of the campground. Assateague Island was right across the bay, and we even saw one of the Wild Horses running along the island right from our site. This is definitely an RV Resort and not a campground, and will be back for sure!

The facility would have been great Except for the fact that we were told the Tiki bar was going to be open, then were told differently because they had to switch out equipment — but never saw one employee over there doing a single thing. Then we were woken up on saturday morning (before 7am) by loud speeding dump trucks with air brakes. I was blown away by the management decision to perform this maintenance on a weekend when there was a bunch of young kids (less than 5yrs) riding bikes and playing. I was a bit let down by this. The man that checked us in was also very pushy, which was not the warm welcome we expected. The man that checked us out also accused us of smoking in the cottage, even though absolutely no one had anything that would generate smoke inside the cottage. The smell was probably lingering from our bonfire the night before. Overall, I would say the facilities are nice, but customer service is sub-​par.

Love it here. It gets better every year. Sitting at the bayside bar having a drink. We will camp here every year till we are to old.

I LOVE this place! Seacrets Tiki Bar is on the beach and they have live music! Awesome! We just booked our week for the 3^rd year in a row! Hands down FAVORITE place for a camping vacation.
Great for adults… great for kids… great for all!

Best campground I have ever been to. The location is lovely. the staff was great. I would love to go back. Cara at the Tiki bar was a great bartender. Everything was clean. the camp store was well stocked.

Bring your own shade. Not many trees here to provide natural shading. They just opened up their Tiki Bar over July 4^th weekend too.
If you can try to get a site where you will face east. You will have more shade in the afternoons.
