I was definitely surprised when I ate a burger from here. The flavors where tasty and portion was hearty! The service was warm and inviting. We didn’t have to wait to long for our food and the price was very reasonable!

I’ve lived about 15 miles away from Berrien Springs my entire life, but tend to go north to the«big Michigan cities» of Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids rather than heading south towards South Bend. Last weekend was an exception. My mother and I were heading to Varners for some plant shopping and were looking for a breakfast place in between our location and destination. She happened to remember Hopper’s(though she called it by a previous name) and we stopped in. The place’s name was a good choice; the place was definitely hopping! We were approached right after we sat down by a waitress who seemed to be managing every table to perfection. She took our drink orders and allowed us a bit of time to look over the menu. There was a good variety in the breakfast options, all seemingly house-made and very hearty. I ordered the banana nut pancakes after the waitress told me they«were to die for.»(She was right, by the way.) My mother ordered a skillet with eggs, sausage, veggies, and hash browns. We were both very pleased with the outcome. My pancakes were A-mazing! I had a short stack, thankfully, because the 2-stacked cakes covered the entire plate. There were bananas baked inside, but also cut on top. And the pecans were not skimped at all. Add a bit of syrup and it was definitely in the running of beating my other local breakfast joint, the Mason Jar. I had a side of sausage patties as well, which were just as tasty. I could not finish the entire meal though; so much food! The atmosphere is that of a diner so I took a star away just for ambiance. However, for service and taste, Hopper’s definitely deserves 5+ stars! I know where to have my next ladies’ breakfast, so I’ll be seeing you again soon!

I love this place. Lots of locals eat here. Their blueberry pancakes are a must try. They also have several vegetarian options on the menu, which is nice. I’ve never had a bad meal there, actually. Whenever people visit I always take them there.
