Breakfast. Best chipped beef I’ve had in a restaurant. No skimping on the beef! The white bread was thick and perfect. No wonder bread here. The seafood sauce they put on the seafood omelet is great. Our family of 5 aged 11 to 74 was happy with our experience.

My family and I decided to try the Summer Salts Café for breakfast because of the convenient location, good looking menu, and cheap prices. We were seriously disappointed by the entire experience– slooooow service and terrible food. I got a combos it’s eggs, hash browns, and pancakes, all of which tasted like they were prepackaged and heated up in a microwave(even though everything was cold). We’re definitely not going to eat there again.

The Crazy Ladies had lunch at Summer Salts Thursday May 19, 2016. The bartender was great. The food was awesome. Thanks Rita and the Crazy Ladies

I would give this place zero stars and am positive all the 5-star reviews are fake. The food here is atrocious but what is worse are the owners — who are bully punks. I noticed there is a negative review where a man was thrown out and called a faggot just because he accidentally broke a glass. That is a true review of the character of what these owners are like, in my opinion. I am an older woman who has owned a weekend home in Sea Colony for 15 years. My husband is a wounded warrior, former Navy Seal who served in Iraq and Afghanistan multiple times. I stopped by late at night to get carry out and asked if the kitchen was still serving. I was told I was not welcome there — by the owner and that I would not be served. I said fine and walked over to another restaurant in the shopping center that was also still open to get carry out for myself and my husband. I would like to see more reviews from people who have also been bullied by this awful and rude owner. I have never been treated so awfully in Bethany Beach, which is a nice community full of really nice and amazing people.

I can’t say enough about this place! The staff and owners are awesome! They have fundraising to help local familys! Their food is great and prices are average! If you haven’t tried it yet give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

I went to Summer Salts last weekend with my boyfriend + our two friends. Service — excellent. Very attentive without being intrusive. The entire waitstaff truly made us feel like we were their guests, providing menu suggestions and changing the various TVs to help us find specific games we were wanting to watch(they literally changed three different TVs for us since we wanted to see a few things simultaneously). Food — great. I highly recommend the seafood quesadilla – this is a tricky thing to get right but Summer Salts nailed it… not too cheesy or soggy but loaded with good seafood. Everything else we ordered(pot stickers, chicken w/crab dip sauce, buffalo chicken salad etc.) was tasty and well portioned. Overall, a well valued meal! Drinks — good. I had a margarita which was good but looking at their menu I get the sense that their wheelhouse is more in the frozen drink realm and/or beer. I ultimately switched to wine and the table next to us had several rounds of shots… bottom line, there’s something here for everyone.

Great big menu with lots of choices and a great list of nightly specials. The seafood quesadilla was excellent and fully stuffed. Wings are some of the best I’ve had and all at very reasonable prices. This place is a little hidden, so I’m glad it was recommended! Open and bright with an assortment of flat screens and specialty drinks. Loved it!

I would have given this place a 5, but there were too many flies inside the restaurant and no egg whites. Otherwise our waiter was nice, our seafood omelette was delicious and we liked the décor! Would come here again!

Good place to go and just do me… That omelet I had must have been made by the hands of God. 5 stars only because 6 was not an option, and the chef looked sober!!!

I wish zero stars was an option. Hostess seemed like it was a problem seating us. Then the waiter barely acknowledged us. Final straw was when the bartender could not make a simple drink and waiter told us this was all we can do. We walked out before ordering. With so many great options for dinner, as well as other places to spend money, why would anyone subject themselves to a torturous evening at Summer Salts. I will never go back.

Meh. Not sure what this place is trying to be– it’s a café(it’s in its name) but has a bar. The décor is confusing– part beachy(expected) part industrial(metal tables and bartop) part Saved By the Bell ‘The Max.’(Interesting color choices and hand paintings on the wall.) The weirdest in all the décor choices is the all-metal bathroom– felt like I was on the set of Orange is the New Black. And, I think due to all the metal in there, or maybe because it backs up to the kitchen, the bathroom is boiling hot. So strange. Food was just ok. I didn’t find it to be anything exciting, especially for the price point.

So this was terrible. Our food literally never came out. The owner told us the chefs showed up too drunk to cook the food and kept breaking our eggs. Seriously, that’s what happened.

Go elsewhere. Things go wrong but if you have a big table spending $ 200 and one app is a undercooked mushy mess and wont just take it off the bill you are probably making other questionable choices so no thanks. Everything else was mediocre so go to another spot nearby– too many to choose from

Really cute little place to sit and relax. Great raspberry ice tea if you water it down so its not to sweet. Really tender and yummy fries. Not so impressed by the salad but they have a great selection. And the waitress was really sweet.

A great, new, casual place at the beach in the Sea Colony shopping center off DE Route 1. We’ve had lunch and dinner here and both were great(they be serving breakfast soon and are open all year). The food is really top rate and the servers couldn’t be more attentive or pleasant. A great find!

Hate to go against the grain here. I really did want to like this place. But it seems like they got a few kinks to iron out. The Ahi Tuna appetizer: Was decent. Tuna could use a little more searing on each side. I know it’s suppose to be seared rare, but it wasn’t even that. I liked how it came with seaweed salad. And I thought that the wasabi ranch was nice. The thing that bothered me was my entrée. The southwest chicken salad. It was just so subpar in every way. 1. Iceberg lettuce: Let’s get a little mix going here. 2. Blackbeans: Straight out of the can. I mean, not even drained or washed. Still had the thick black goo stuff that comes in the can. 3. Corn: Straight out of the can. This could use a little char and seasoning. Super easy to do, makes a huge difference. 4. Avocado: under ripe 5. Chicken: Clearly those precut boneless chicken strips from the grocery. Seasoned and sauteed. Not the worst, but salad could use more then 2 – 3 of these strips cut up. 6. Tortilla Chips: Would be nice if they were freshly made. 7. Salsa: Obviously store bought/pre made. 8. Dressing: Liked the dressing. Now, I know that I just tore that salad apart. But that’s what I was thinking… It’s ok to have one mistake… but so many glaring technical mistakes made me feel like, «come on guys». Mother’s fries were soggy and not fresh. Her taco could have used a nice fresh slaw instead of a thick cheese layer. Fish & Cheese, not the best combo. Atmosphere of the restaurant was fantastic. I really liked it. It also seem like our server really cared about what he was doing. I hope that you take some of my criticism constructively, I love the concept, just the execution was a little lacking.

Try it soon, I can’t imagine it will last long. Uninspired fish tacos, fish appears to have come from a bag of frozen filets. Caesar salads just middling lettuce and what appeared to be bottled dressing. Special over spiced to point of inedibility. At least they have a decent selection of microbrews on tap. Maybe just go for a beer.
