I knew it!!! It was just on the news that this place was a brothel! Its horrific. It looked soooooo shady. When i was there some random older guy looked suspicious that came out of the back. Ewwwww. Plus it was the worst manicure I’ve ever gotten. I should have known. How could their owners or whatever they are called use Groupons for this place! I’m so flag they are shutting it down. Never going to use groupon. Not worth the risk.

The shop was empty when I walked in. I got the man to do my pedicure which I was not too fond of. He was ok but was pushing for me to add this or that to my pedicure which I declined. I saw a sign for foot reflexology so I asked him if it was possible to add that to my pedicure he knotted so I assumed he understood he suddenly went really fast with my pedicure and started painting my nails at that point I assumed he forgot my reflexology request. He was rushing me to get out I was totally confused. I said didnt I ask for reflexology at which time he realized he completely misunderstood me and thought I had to leave in 30 minutes.

TERRIBLETERRIBLE salon. Don’t go if you want to save your sanity and money! Here’s what happened: — I used a Living Social voucher and they clicked redeem before they could get my info and proceeded to take off with my phone and then had me write my name and phone number down for«manager to call.» Um what? — Then, the technician who did my pedicure had something wrong. She insisted it was«allergies» but she kept coughing without covering her mouth, blowing her nose and rubbing her eyes. It was terrible. — The two other women working there and my pedicurist kept talking in Vietnamese and usually this doesn’t bother me but two of them actually got into a fight while I was sitting in the chair. One made the other cry. I was appalled. — I was left alone for a good 15 – 20 minutes. — My big toe on my right foot was injured(I dropped a full Pepsi can on it… ouch) and I told the technician don’t bother with that toe, just put polish on it because it was still healing. She replied with«I’m a professional, just let me do what I want!» in broken English. — I was left in the chair for the manicure which made me turn awkwardly for my right hand. Extremely uncomfortable. — This was the first place I didn’t tip because I was so turned off by the service. — Finally, a roach scuttled by as I left the salon. Disgusting. Oh and my manicure chipped the second I left the salon. Sigh.

LA Nails & Spa is under new management, and it shows. Mr. Phan, the proprietor, has yet to give the shabby space the facelift it desperately needs, so you’ll be greeted by the bland butter-colored walls and bad fluorescent lighting of yore. What’s different? The joint is now staffed with a madcap bunch of rather hilarious Viet ladies, you’ll get a solid mani/pedi for only $ 30(!), and the waxing is(currently) 20% off. BONUS: For an extra $ 5, you can upgrade to a «design pedicure” – Mr. Phan pulled out a palette of paints and deftly free-handed some blue and white lilies on my big toe. Normally I’m a mani/pedi minimalist, but the Lisa-Frank-notebook-toting-12-year-old inside me had to agree that this guy, who cut his teeth during the 80’s rococo-era of nail art, had bedazzled my toenails JUSTRIGHT.

I mean, what do you look for in a nail salon? Do I have polish on my nails? Yes. And $ 30 for mani/pedi is reasonable, it’s true. Oh, and you can add tip on a credit card, which is convenient. I went to the other location in Rockville once and had a good experience, so I assumed that they would be the same. Let me summarize… — I walked in, there are no chairs for you to sit and wait to be helped. — I wasn’t «greeted» upon entering. A guy just barked«Pick a color.» — They put me in the pedi chair first, but did my hands while sitting in the chair. I had to turn awkwardly so she could reach my right hand, which is just uncomfortable — AND my feet were just sitting in the water the whole time, like 30 minutes! — My nails aren’t long, and the lady doing the mani literally filed my FINGERS. I kept pulling my hand away from her and saying«Ouch!» But she kept doing it! Is this even a thing?! — Maybe the lady doesn’t even work there, because she just wandered in, did my manicure and then wandered back out into the street. Someone else did the pedicure. — THEYUSEDTHEDREADEDRAZOR! I honestly didn’t know places still did this and it’s horrible. I should have screamed to him to stop, but I was intimidated by the gruffness. — The place doesn’t look clean and all the products are in these crusty, shadily unmarked containers. Overall, I don’t like conflict, so I went with it, but I did not feel comfortable at all with this place. Here’s hoping I don’t come down with some dread, flesh-eating foot fungus from that damn razor.

Came for a pampering session with my bestie and that is exactly what we got. We really didn’t want to leave. They were meticulous and very attentive and treated us really well. I will definitely be coming back soon.

Just went to get my mani/pedi through an Amazon Local Special for $ 30. They were very nice and thorough. Definitely will go there again.

This place is great — friendly service, good manicure and pedicure, and a clean salon. I was a walk-in but didn’t have to wait. They took their time but weren’t slow, and my nails look very nice. Street parking is hard to come by, and it’s metered; however, there is also a county parking garage across the street, so spots are generally avalable(but do bring change, except on weekends.)

I bought a groupon for LA Nails in Bethesda which included a manicure and paraffin pedicure for $ 30. I decided to go French on both my feet and hands and threw in an extra $ 10 bucks. Scheduling an appointment at LA nails was easy… Most probably because they seem to overbook appointments. I parked my car in the metered garage across the street and figure I’d pay for an hour a half… Wrong move. I had to refill my meter three times before I left… That’s 3 whole hours that I was sitting in their facilities. Granted, the last time I filled my meter they offered to give me $ 0.50 in change because I failed to bring my piggy bank filled with $ 5.00 in spare change. I’m not an expert on nail polish by any means but I do get my nails done often enough to know that your nail polish probablyyy shouldn’t be chipping after one hour. Well mine was. It’s been three days since I’ve been to LA nails and my nail polish is almost completely gone. But hey, maybe I wash my hands too much. All that being said, I still give this place two stars because the staff is super friendly and I’m sure all you people who bought the groupon and are reading this will want some comfort in knowing you’re not going to get jipped. You won’t be complete jipped, although I can’t say the same about your nails after three days.
