With several Asian food options in the Montgomery Mall food court, I felt that Ruby Thai had the best price for their combo options. Although this is definitely not authentic Thai food, I thought what I ordered was good. For my two item combo, I decided on Pad Thai($ 0.50 upgrade), Thai BBQ chicken, and basil beef. I actually enjoyed the Pad Thai. The tamarind and fish sauce flavors weren’t overwhelming and the vegetables added to it were fresh. The Thai BBQ chicken was okay. Reminded me more like teriyaki chicken rather than the Thai chicken’s I’m used to. However, the chicken was still juicy and not overcooked. The basil beef was also just okay. Not spicy at all, but the beef was tender and flavored nicely. I got a lot of food in my two item combo. They were definitely very generous with the portion size. I had enough for lunch the next day. To wash my food down, I had a Thai iced tea. Eh. Wasn’t really a fan of this. It tasted more like plain black tea and could have used more milk. Definitely could have been sweeter.
