Amy is awesome! All you need to do is look at her super glamour photos and you’ll understand.
Sometimes I think that with the pains of motherhood, time goes by SO slowly (cant wait til everything stops hurting. can’t wait til they can hold their heads up. Can’t wait til I can finally wear normal clothes again! Lol) but in actuality time whizzes by and I already miss my little newborn T_​_​_​_​T
The silver lining is that we booked a photo session with Amy and she captured our little girl in all her adorable-​ness; so we can have that forever.
Booking was super easy I just emailed back and forth with her I think a month or two before popping. Amy is very responsive and flexible. You give her your due date and then actually set a photo session date once the baby arrives. She gives you a contract to sign and then you make a deposit. She’s much more reasonably priced than other photographers I’ve checked out that have the similar kind of style and she DOESN’T force you to buy photo books or prints from her, so it’s nice and flexible.
The little studio is the cutest thing you’ll ever see. Amy has a TON of little outfits, accessories, blankets and props so you don’t have to worry if you don’t have anything. She’s also great at picking out looks if you’re overwhelmed with choices. We brought our own little piano and Amy was really great about incorporating photos for that too.
The actual session was a bit difficult, SOLELY because baby girl was fussy — cried a lot, had a hard time sleeping, and pooped and peed. Thankfully Amy was very patient and did everything in her power to help get the shots and keep baby girl calm (and keep mom and dad calm too lol). Amazingly with all the fussing, she still got some perfect photos that are true pieces of art and we are absolutely in love with each photo.
The other parts of new parenthood may be chaotic and confusing, but this was a no brainer for us!

I have a newfound respect for newborn photographers. Those precious dreamy shots are a lot of work! Amy is outstanding and worth every penny. She is artistic, personable, and a perfectionist. Most importantly she was extremely kind and patient with our baby. We were very impressed and highly recommend her. Our photos are amazing. I’d like to add that her studio is perfectly cozy and warm for newborns. She is very well prepared and has a lovely selection of setups. We are so thrilled to have found her.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Amy and her photography. I absolutely LOVE my pictures. Not only is she sweet and friendly, her photography is incredible. She has photographed my three children and done maternity shoots for me. She was so patient and gentle with my newborn little ones. If you have ever done newborn photos before, you know that having patience is so critical to get those magical sleepy poses. She would be waiting and fixing every detail (down to a piece of fuzz that landed on the blanket) in posing my little ones just to get the perfect shot. Even if my children stirred (which happened a lot with my son) she just kept repositioning them and clicking away. Also, her hands and touch on my babies as she positioned them were so peaceful and gentle, it made me feel really safe with my days old baby. She also worked with my son when he was awake and I treasure the photos of his wide eyes looking right into her lens.
She is open to ideas and pictures of different looks or poses that you want, but she also has an amazing eye for creativity within her own props and setups. It was really nice to feel «heard» to what I wanted some of the poses to look like and she communicated well suggestions that I ended up really liking. She is amazing in Photoshop too as she helped edit out some of the dreaded baby acne in my son and some newborn nail scratches to his face.
Her studio space is cozy and inviting and her hospitality gracious as we had snacks and drinks during the hours of shooting. She literally re-​creates the womb to get the best «relaxed» sleepy poses of your newborn by having sound machines & heaters to warm the room to keep a naked little baby happy (warning it gets warm, so dress in layers!). She also is fun and has a great sense of humor and made me feel comfortable – even when my son peed everywhere and pooped on her! «Hey it happens!» she told me and just moved on. A great relief that she is totally understanding and mom who has been there before.
She also made me feel really comfortable during my maternity shoot. I really wanted to capture the innocence and beauty of my growing belly and she did almost nude photographs of me and my then 15 month old daughter. I thought it was going to be so awkward just standing around in my thong, but she was very professional and I love the pictures of my naked daughter sitting on top of my big belly. And of course she helped Photoshop my stretch marks!
I would highly recommend doing your photoshoot with Amy because you will not be disappointed. Plus, her turn around time was fast and she even sent me a few previews that I was so excited to receive. AMAZING!!! I cannot wait to go back when my youngest turns a year for a cake smash photoshoot.
