Excellent Thai food! Who would think that a quaint Victorian house would be the setting for great Thai food? Our Penang curry had kaffir line leaves and a thick spicy coconut base. Ginger chicken was tangy. Fried rice was yummy. What a find !

Who doesn’t like quaint ambience? The setting is relaxed and warm. If you dig Victorian, then this place exudes character. Their menu is wonderful and prices respectable. I took my fiancé for her birthday and as a vegetarian, she enjoyed the choices and not having to settle for side dishes. A definite hit for us and they can expect us from time to time.

Thai fusion with a bit of American flare. The pumpkin soup was extraordinary, my ginger and crab salmon perfect and the velvety smooth strawberry cheesecake devine. A hint of heaven on a Bethlehem street. A must visit.

A wonderful Asian themed menu and the food is always excellent. This is a place to relax and enjoy because if you are in a hurry you will be upset. Been bringing out-​of-​townees here for years and they love it and ask to return next time they are in town. A very quaint Victorian home that somehow enriches the experience.

Recently enjoyed a dinner at the Café’s front patio on a crisp fall evening. The setting was fantastic, the service was spot on, and the food was some of the best that I have had in a while.
Overall, the Café remains one of the better Thai /​American restaurants in the Lehigh Valley. The effort, care, and quality that goes into the food is almost unmatched at other establishments in the Valley. Where the Café lacks is hip décor and general accompaniments that do not enhance the quality of food and or my personal dining experience.
Personally, the Café is a place that I will relish my opportunities to eat at!

Love this place. Have been there once for a group event and so glad i finally got a chance to get back there… Best thai food in the valley. We shared spring rolls — were yummy. and for dinner we got green curry with chicken and basil spicy pad thai w shrimp — it was delicious. So authentic and not drowned in sauce. Im looking forward to getting back there and trying other dishes.
This place has been around for many years and I see why — quality food — and owned by a local family and im all about supporting our local small businesses!
Go try it out — you wont regret it! Make sure to make reservations as the restaurant closes on the earlier side for dinner!

Cozy atmosphere and great food from appetizers to desserts (save room!).

How did I only find out about The Café after I moved away from the area???
I came here with a part of 8 – 10 for dinner and we were put in a private room upstairs. It was a bit ago, so I don’t remember exactly what I ordered, but I know it was curry and delicious. I also remember the service being great; the perfect combination of attentive but not around too much. The décor is an old Victorian home which I loved.
I came back another time for lunch after my first experience and was again happy with the decision to dine at The Café. It is definitely on the short list of places to eat when I am back in the Lehigh Valley.

My favorite Lehigh Valley restaurant. What makes it so is the quaint atmosphere, interesting Thai inspired American cuisine and the gregarious staff. The Café is a large old Bethlehem home, with former living, dining, and bed rooms now filled with dinner tables and rustic decorations. The food is divine. The live jazz and/​or piano music sets the mood. Seriously just over the top great on every level, especially their stuffed chicken and wanton soup. Eat here.

Love The Café! My daughter and I had dinner reservations at 7:00 on a Saturday evening. We debated on what to eat and then decided what wine to have with our meal. She had the Coconut Milk soup and I had the Shrimp soup. One thing, be prepared to relax and enjoy conversations… it took about 45 minutes before our soups came out. Our wine was good (not that I would buy it at the wine store– but it was good with our meals). Delicious soups!!! Our meal was the Spicy Thai Basil with Salmon, and the Crispy Duck in Panang Curry. Both excellent meals. We’ve eaten here several times and NEVER disappointed. I highly recommend this charming place!

Wonderful setting in a Victorian style home matched by personalized, friendly service. The staff is very cautious of food allergies as well as vegan/​vegetarian food preferences. Everything is cooked fresh and was amazing.

Amazing Thai food! My boyfriend and I live in NYC and were visiting family in Bethlehem– this is better Thai food than any place in NYC or in Thailand (returned two months ago). Try the panang curry with crispy duck for an entrée and the spring rolls for appetizers. Spring rolls tasted exactly the same as from the streets carts of Bangkok, yum!

The Café is one of my favorite restaurants in the Lehigh Valley. The atmosphere is unusual, but the separate rooms are great for business meetings, or a quiet meal with my wife.
The menu is somewhat unusual, but I order the red or green curry. I also highly recommend the pad Thai. In over 20 visits since moving back to the Valley in 2004, I have not been disappointed.
If you are looking for a great meal in an unusual atmosphere, this is the place to go. By the way, the desserts are fantastic!

We live right up the street from The Café and had always been meaning to stop in. Now I’m kicking myself for not going sooner! I’ve been in Bethlehem for about 9 months now and this is the first restaurant to serve high quality food off of an upscale menu.
Atmosphere: After calling to change our reservation time to thirty minutes earlier just an hour before hand, we were promptly seated in one of the many small dining rooms. Our table was small for our party of four, but our serve did an efficient job of keeping unnecessary items and dishes out of our way. The designers of the restaurant kept the original set up of the house that it is inside so it can be very interesting to look at. The décor is not modern, trendy, or posh, but rather reminiscent of the home that it once was. Honestly, I didn’t look too closely because I was too side tracked by the menu!
Food: My whole party was very pleased with the food. The menu was a bit more scattered than I had expected, Asian base with strong French and American influences among others. This did not turn me off though, not a bit. It was rather fun looking through all of the different options and guessing which one would be the best. We ordered four different appetizers and passed them around. The pork spring rolls were definitely my favorite. The calamari and the crab and shrimp were served unexpectedly with lettuce on a plate. Regardless of the plating style, both were delicious. Lastly there were chicken skewers which were exactly what they sound like, cooked nicely with delicious dipping sauce. Our salads came next and while they were nothing extraordinary, the dressings were nice and the ingredients were fresh. Our entrees were fantastic. I tried the special, a flounder stuffed with crab and shrimp, baked with asparagus, served with veggies, potatoes and hollandaise sauce. Honestly, I didn’t even get to the veggies and potatoes. I went right to the flounder, ate up every last bit of the light and flaky delicious goodness until I was stuffed. We didn’t order dessert but complimentary cookies were brought out which were also delicious– we had to try!
Service: This was a relaxing meal which I appreciate. Definitely not like busy chain restaurants where one course is brought out after another in an effort to get the tables turning as quickly as possible. I didn’t check my watch at all, but I would bet that our entire meal took about 1 ½ to 2 hours. Our server was GREAT. She was polite, friendly, and while talking to us made sure to respectfully look everyone in the eye as she clearly talked through their specials without rushing.
Did I leave anything out? I want to say that it was a bit pricey, but definitely not outrageous and MOST definitely worth it in my book.
Give it a try! If you’re hesitant than I want to say that they’re open for lunch. What have you got to loose? You’ll definitely see me there again… and again, and again, and again…

For years this was the ONLY place to get Thai in Bethlehem. It’s not just Thai, though — The owner/​chef is an accomplished French cook, too, as demonstrated by the gorgeous pastries on display. I always order the Thai and enjoy it immensely. The red and green curries are both delicious and fresh.
If you have room, be sure to get dessert. I almost never do, though the time or two I’ve had space to share one, it has been lovely.

Yikes. Where do I start? I’ll start with the short version: Bad service, mediocre food from an all-​over-​the-​place menu, and an atmosphere and décor akin to Mother Bates’ house.
So seriously, this place is creepy looking. You sit in one of several dining rooms all over this half of a town house. The rooms are old looking and severely dated. The tables are set with antique-​looking tableware and dusty old fake flower centerpieces. It’s not quaint.
The menu is Thai but with a lot of basic continental. It’s weird. Filet with hollandaise? Dude… Not to mention the special of salmon with… hollandaise. I honestly thought of the Arrested Development episode where everything was served with Club Sauce. Anyway… boring bread on the table, FYI. Apps were no big deal. A gross looking crab sauce on sliced avocado. Mushroom soup, hard to screw up. And a mango salad with tiny shrimp, onions, red cabbage i think. Meh. Then salad courses. Salads were basic and boring, like you would get at a cheap wedding. Entrees, at least mine was disappointing. I tried the Pad Thai, thinking that since this place had been here for a while, the Thai food should be their thing. Fail. Overcooked noodles, dry and overcooked chicken. Boring. Dessert was gross. Hands down. And boring.
Service was where they really failed. The waitress finally made her way over to ask if we wanted anything to drink. She seemed surprised that we needed a drink menu (which only had bottles of wine) to decide what we wanted. We ordered a bottle of white, which she went to retrieve without taking orders. We had already been there for almost 15 minutes. She returned with the wine, only to pour the whole bottle out into our four glasses. In other words, the wine was warm by the time we got to the bottom ¹⁄₃ of the wine in the glass. If I wasn’t being hosted, I would have demanded a free bottle. It took forever after that to order. Every course that came out was auctioned at the table. It got tired. The dessert menu is spoken to the table, but you don’t get any description other than the basic ingredients and there are way too many options.
Overall, this place just wasn’t good. Even for Bethlehem. I might have been cute 20 years ago, but now it’s dated and bad.

We have been coming here for years now and it is one place the family can unanimously decide on. We always get our own private room (because our party is never smaller than 6) and it is comforting to see familiar faces of the staff every time. It is a charming, lovely restaurant and I have yet to be disappointed with the food. It is quite expensive though, but still totally worth it.

Went for birthday dinner. The food was very good and the waitress had great timing on bringing out dishes. The menu had a nice selection of items to choose from as well as specials not on the menu.
I eat a lot of Thai food and I found the food quite good. It was fairly authentic and quite tasty. However, if you don’t like Asian cuizine, there are plenty of other dishes as well!

This Thai place has a very homely setting. Great for a visit with the family or a date too. Price wise it is a little high but you will feel it was money well spent.
As for the food, it was amazing. I had the Penang crispy duck. The spicy curry sauce with the dark duck meat was a perfect match. As for the dessert, I had the triple butter cake, was pretty good. Good selection of desserts to choose from and they are made on site too.
Definitely going back. Out of all the Thai places I been to (manhattan, brooklyn) this place hangs with the best of them.
