Meh, it’s ok here. I’ve got a hunch that the ice cream is not homemade. And, while the Cup, offers a multitude of flavors to satisfy all palettes, I’d be remiss to claim this is amongst the highest quality or most unique. It fits the bill when you’ve got a sweet treat hankering and the price warrants no complaints, but it won’t be the most memorable scoop. Offerings include hard ice cream(and yogurt), soft serve(including a sugar free option reminiscent of rat poison, or at least what I imagine that might taste like), and ices. They’ve also got some baked goods(i.e. Whoopi pie) that never looked especially fresh.

I would like to think of myself as and ice cream expert, since I worked at a DQ for 5 years, and this is a top notch place. I very much enjoyed the décor of this ice cream shop. I love the old-time feel of it and how they have the ice cream bars you could buy off the ice cream trucks. Screwballs, popsicles, choco-taco. AMAZING! There are a TON of flavors here, I can’t be 100% sure but I think they are homemade flavors. It was so difficult to choose which flavor I wanted, luckily I want in there with a flavor and decision in mind. I did not stray! I stuck with my guns and ordered a milkshake, with a flavor change to mint Oreo. It was delicious. I love the tasting spoons, they’re so much better then the tiny white spoons. I kept mine, I know — dorky. Lots of indoor seating and I think there are benches out front. I will definitely come back here to get my ice cream fix. The employees were extremely nice and helpful. They did not rush us to choose and were super patient with us and helped us with flavors! If you want to tip, you give it to the employee that helped you. I like that!

I had the pleasure of visiting The Cup while I was in Bethlehem, PA for a weekend retreat with a church group. We walked from Moravian College(I was told it was a short stroll, not so much the case) and then used the walk back to enjoy our ice cream and burn those extra calories we’d just gained. There were plenty of options of ice creams and the place was PACKED. It was a summer weeknight evening and the line was out the door. We moved through it quickly and even though they were slammed the gentleman who was helping me was completely patient as I looked through the variety of flavors and asked for samples. Gold star to him! I finally decided on a double scoop of peach and it was delicious! Kudos on the staffing, kudos on the ice cream taste/texture/deliciousness, and kudos on obviously being a favorite place for the local community. When I’m back in town I will certainly visit again.

This ice cream store gets 2 stars for it’s service. There were about 10 people in line, and I waited over 20 minutes for a scoop of ice cream. Only 1 guy was working, and he was super slow. He was a young guy, but he looks like he ate more ice cream than he served. There was an older couple working in the back, but they were not doing anything. I will never go here again due to the poor service. The only reason this place is getting 2 stars instead of 1 star is the ice cream itself was good and not too pricey.

This ice cream is the best in Bethlehem. They make their own and visit here frequently. They have quick service and I would recommend it to anyone.

Yeah I don’t know what it is with the inconsistent service here. I’ll let the other reviewers discuss which particular employee that I am referring to. At one point in my college career I decided that if the service that day at the Cup was subpar I would just go somewhere else. All things considered they have some solid ice cream and a good flavor selection. The prices have gone up a lot but what hasn’t gone up in price lately? Forget about coming here if it’s not in walking distance though. The parking is awful.

I work at Lehigh University, and as a result I frequent the cup far more often than I should. I’ve only been there at night a few times, so I can’t comment on service then. However, when I go in during the day there always seems to be a cute little old man working, or a younger girl. I’m always suprised, because even if it’s been a while between visits they always seem to remember my order. The ice cream is always exceptional. Definitely worth the wait you’ll encounter during warmer months. My personal favorite is maple walnut in a waffle cone. My only complaint is that they only allow one flavor in a small serving and the large is massive. There is a sign on the wall that states this though. The girl who is there a lot always apologizes, but it isn’t really her fault. Also, they’ve accepted credit cards for a while now.

We usually gravitate over to this location as opposed to the home office over on Linden Street due to it always being less busy. The selection of flavors is less and even though the staff seems to not know how to make a proper milkshake it still hits the spot every time. Parking is on the street and if Lehigh is not on break it will be interesting at best.

Been here many times during the Lehigh years and it was good. It’s basically like the original cup on north side. For some reason, I don’t feel that this location is on par with the one on north side. I lived in south side for a bit after graduation, and I always found myself going to the one on north side instead of this one.

I have been here over the summer and the kids that waited on us were really friendly. If you asked me to review this place a year ago when I lived on campus square I would have given it 2 stars. I don’t know if the one«rude girl» still works there but it was always such a struggle to get a chocolate shake made without an eye roll. Once a friend of mine who is a very sweet, calm person got in argument with«rude girl» about her attitude problem. Perhaps she’s still lingering around giving people dirty looks but I haven’t seen her. I might have to update this. Besides«rude girl» they have awesome milkshakes and great ice cream when there is no attitude. They have a nice patio area in the square where you can sit and enjoy the weather or take a stroll around Lehigh’s beautiful campus.

I used to frequent their other location when I was a student at Lehigh before this one existed and I have very fond memories of it. As I am in town with my boyfriend and want to show him around, we decided to take advantage of the 84 degree weather we’re having today and go get a scoop each. I must say I was disappointed — mainly by the service. The girl serving the ice cream had a poor attitude and really ruined the experience for all of us. The old location allowed up to 2 flavors in a small cup(1 very large scoop) and she very rudely told me no when I asked for 2 flavors here. The one flavor I got, chocolate almond wasn’t that good but the coffee fudge my friend got was tasty and the chocolate chip my boyfriend got was YUM… so as far as the ice cream, I give it 4 stars but the service needs a LOT of help…
