Debby Kaplan

I met Debby ten years ago when a friend recommended her to fix a self-​color disaster, and she has been coloring my hair once a month ever since with consistently fabulous results. I’ve seen her work on other clients, too, and she really is a miracle worker. There’s another perk: Debby is an incredibly intelligent, interesting person. We talk about movies, books, travel,…it makes the appointment fly by. I genuinely look forward to my monthly visits with Debby, and I wholeheartedly recommend her!

Debby is a goddess. Over the years, not only has she given me consistently awesome cuts, color, highlights, and anything I need… she’s also fixed the bad cuts and dye jobs I got from other people (or myself). She’s awesome.

I have coarse Asian hair which is 90% Mrs. Santa white and I am not ready to sport that look. I found Debby Kaplan, colorist extraordinaire, after much concern about the redundant use of toxic conventional products. Debby uses the INOA product by L’oreal which will never be sold over-​the-​counter because it requires the knowledge and skill of an experienced colorist to prepare for personalized application. INOA is the least toxic hair coloring product available today. It doesn’t burn the scalp, dry the hair shaft nor does if emit foul noxious odor. My hair is soft and silky after a treatment even after the blow dry and flat iron. Debby created colors that are uniquely mine. Because I am so predominantly white at the crown, I chose to have a beautiful beige blond atop with a rich dark brown underneath. It looks much more natural, cool and elegant than anyone would ever think. And, the compliments… wow.

I’m a loyal Debby Kaplan client. I first went to Debby on recommendation of a friend during an extended work assignment in Los Angeles. When I returned to LA permanently, locating Debby was on the top of my list. She is a wonderful stylist and an expert colorist; you can absolutely trust any product recommendation she makes. The Nick Chavez Salon is lovely, friendly and unpretentious.
UPDATE 2015: I still wouldn’t go anywhere else!
