Another past life experience. I worked for a friend of mine on taping days at KCET for both the Big Spin(California Lottery) and the Powerball(multi-state lottery) as a production assistant. I mostly worked as a wrangler(working with the audience) but I also worked with the contestants too. Once I was the score keeper and my job was to calculate the winnings and write it on a board to show the host so he or she knew how much the contestant had won. Also, as a score keeper my job was to write out the large fake million dollar checks to use for photo ops. I was often asked to fill in for contestants that did not want to travel but I am camera shy and would invite friends to play the televised game. I did spin the Big Wheel once with permission and supervision of lottery officials(legally they are police that make sure that nothing has been compromised). Good times… but boring at times.
