I don’t know how this place got five stars maybe I was just unlucky but my forehead looks like an incision was made and I needed stitches. Never coming back. Worst cut I have ever received so far, only looks tolerable since it was cut down to a 1. Avoid please. It was hard enough to find parking and the store itself.

Jose is a very nice, older man who LOVES what he does. He has great personality and REALLYKNOWSHOWTOCUTHAIR. The location is in an office building. It’s a no frills spot but it’s a true barber shop with a shoe shine guy and a manicurist. Jose gave me one of the best cuts I’ve had in a while. He is a solid barber who you can count on. And he’s the first barber I’ve been to in a while that takes appointments, which I like.

Been going to Jose for about 30 years, at a few locations. Great haircut for a very reasonable $ 25. Shave, shampoo, and manicure(from the shop’s manicurist) also available. Jose is very friendly, and a great conversationalist. And what’s spoken in the barber shop, STAYS in the barber shop!

Old School Elegance and Professionalism Pros: expertise, friendliness, head massage, inexpensive Cons: Not a thing I love this guy. I used to go to salons and pay $ 50-$ 80 for my cuts. Then, when I moved, and I put off finding a new stylist until finally, in desperation, I tried my father’s barber. Who knew my dad had a discovered a gem in the city!?! That is how I found Jose, and I’m glad I did. He is so friendly, responsive, has lots of life stories to share, and a great sense of humor. He starts off with this amazing head massage that I look forward to every time. After that, he expertly cuts my hair. His assistant brushes me off, and I’m done. For $ 25, Jose gives the royal treatment. He is an Old School barber who nevertheless is up to date on trends and techniques. Other services you can get: Shave(also $ 25), and a manicure while your hair is being cut(I haven’t tried this yet). I work in Beverly Hills so Jose, who works out of Little Joe’s, is super convenient. There is inexpensive public parking lots on the same street too.(FYI: the first time I went, I had a some difficulty finding it.) I whole-heartedly recommend this excellent barber.

Just found out that Jose also does children’s hair! Can’t wait until my 8-month old son has hair long enough to bring him with me to Jose and carry on the family tradition. Also recently discovered that credit cards are accepted as well. I’ve been going to Jose since I was too young to have a credit card so I always paid cash! :-) I’ve been going to Jose since I was about 8 years old. He’s an institution for any guy who grew up or lived in or near the Pico-Robertson neighborhood of LA in the 1970s and 80s. The thing is, Jose gives great haircuts at a fair price and he’s really friendly and personable. Over the years(decades now!) he’s been in a few locations but for the last 2 years or so he’s been located in the William Morris building at Wilshire and Camden in Beverly Hills. It’s truly a cool old-school barbershop experience. Make sure you call ahead to make an appointment.
