This is one of my favorite stops for a delicious tuna melt or a breakfast sandwich but above that — I absolutely love the guys that work here! They are always kind and helpful and make me feel welcome! I highly recommend stopping by!

The Larder Maple Dr. is such a charming little spot! I just had a broccoli goat cheese omelette w avocado on the side and WOW it blew my socks off! So delicious!!! There’s something about the toast too that perfectly compliments the melty goodness of the omelette. It is apparent that high quality fresh ingredients are used here. They have fresh juice and yummy pastries as well. I highly recommend this place. And bonus: the guys that work here are friendly and attentive

I’ve really been trying to give this place a shot. The larder is located in the same building as my office, and we come here often for coffee and lunch. Unfortunately, despite the friendliness of the staff, the service is poor. There are always 3+ people working there and even when no one is in line, everything takes quite a long time. They often forget items, it’s overpriced, and this morning I paid $ 15 for two eggs, one slice of toast, and 3 slices of tomatoes. They forgot the ham in my order and they still charged me. Not worth your time and money.

The Larder is a great breakfast spot. The potatoes and fruit salad are fantastic. All the food is locally sourced and organic. It is like AOC but more casual and less pricey.

Once in a while, when I want a cookie, I’ll walk over there on my break. Their chocolate cookies are excellent. I think it’s chocolate and meringue, but I’m not really sure; either way, it’s delicious. I’ve also had their almond croissant(ok, now I’m drooling for one). Very, very good. I tried their meatloaf for lunch, but was unimpressed. So, for me, this place is for when I have a sweet tooth.

Had a couple of sandwiches(‘The Rory’ and ‘The Big Tuna’) and our only complaint is that the bread-to-meat ratio was way off, particularly on ‘The Rory’. Ended up taking the top layer of bread off of that one and ate it like we would a piece of pizza. That said… the flavor was definitely there, and it looked like there were plenty of other delicious options. Also, just to note, this particular location is in the middle of an office complex. Thus, the lunch hour is flooded with orders(a lot of call-ins and assistants reading off of long lists) and it can be a little tough to find a place to sit and enjoy your food. However, if you can find a table or bench, the vibe is quite pleasant. In summation, would definitely try it again(though might hit the location at Burton Way next time)!

The food is OK to goodish, the desserts are good. The prices are OUTRAGEOUS for the amount of food given. And that was when I ate THERE. The last 2 times I brought a salad back to the office, I was seriously looking for the candid camera, the to-go portions are a JOKE. The size of the to-go container allows for about 40% of the onsite bowl which is already mediocre in size. I just finished my salad, and I am STARVING. Seriously Larder, get it together! If you are going to charge FIFTEEN dollars for a non-organic salad, make it ATLEAST fill a small woman up for gods sake. On a side note, the crew that works there is lovely and helpful. However, those smiling faces are not going to make up for the crappy Cheetos I’m about to shove in my face to make up for the lack of salad.

I started a new job in the neighborhood and was told this was the closest place to go get a sandwich. I was craving tuna fish, but at $ 13 I had some doubts. Decided to get it anyway, it said it simply came on bread with lettuce, red onion, and swiss. Great, I asked for no onion, they said it came mixed in, I said no extra onion then. Done. It takes awhile for them to make it, even though there are 5 people standing around. I finally get it to go, walk back to my desk and open the box. There isnt a whole lot of tuna on it for $ 13 worth, so I thought this would be the only time I would get it. I took a big bite, and all I could taste was the spicy mustard that was slathered on both sides of the bread. I really really hate it when restaurants list their ingredients out on the menu, but then fail to list something like SPICYMUSTARD will be slathered all over your bread. Unfortunately, I was already back at my office before finding out. I ate the tuna fish out from the bread, but it was a really small portion for a $ 13 sandwich. I am kind of a tuna fish purist, thats what I want to taste between the bread. The homemade chips are obviously better then bagged chips, but thought they were a little greasy. The homemade pickles were not crisp like I had hoped.

I came here for lunch the other day since it’s so close to my workplace. I forgot what the exact name of the sandwich I ordered was but it had chicken and pesto sauce in it. All sandwiches come with a side of chips. Their chips are made in the kitchen and not the store-bought ones which I like. The sandwich, on the other hand, was quite disappointing. The bread slices were huge and overpowering. I felt like I was eating just bread and not a sandwich. The bread was also really hard and chewy so it took extra effort for each chew. The sandwich was definitely not worth the $ 13 it cost, which is already a lot for a sandwich anyway. The customer service here is good but I definitely would rather go elsewhere on my lunch break now.

Some helpful info I have not read here: this a small coffee shop that happens to serve some food in the courtyard of a business building with only outside seating. This would be very convenient if I worked in and around it and wanted to get something quick to go. but a very important piece of information for those out of the area. I only had an omelette which was fair at best with a few fried potatoes. Apparently from the other reviews this is good for a coffee and pastry.

Yes, it’s a bit pricey for order at the counter lunch. Definitely in the Sycamore Kitchen range. Food quality is great. I had a heavenly ficelle with burrata, broccolini and some other delicious stuff. Had to interrupt absorbing conversation to coo appreciatively about my food. Nice variety of juices. Delicious coffee. You have to find your way into the office building to access it, but once you get there you’re in a quiet sunny courtyard perfectly pleasant for leisurely noshing.

This is my go-to spot if I want to «cheat» just a little, but still be «healthy» for the most part. Um… what? Exactly. Let me explain. Their vegan cobb. A well-thought out creation of all things beautiful and healthy with the right amount of spice, texture and citrus. Beets, chick peas, roasted sweet potatoes, avocado, lettuce, chives and those pretty little multi-colored bite size tomatoes that you see at Trader Joe’s but hold yourself back from getting because you’re already paying a $ 1 more for those organic cherry tomatoes and to spend an extra 50 cents for those multi-colored suckers? Forget it, right? Maybe it’s just me. When I wear tight clothes to work, I find comfort in knowing that eating this salad for lunch won’t give me any bloating problems. I can leave my spanx in the car(that’s a rule, ladies. Keep one pair in your car and another at home). Their rory sandwich. Roasted chicken, arugula, parmesan cheese and pesto(btw, I am currently dancing in my seat as I write this review because this place is that awesome). I get it with wheat toast because, like I said, I cheat a little and try to be on my health game. The sandwich(including all sandwiches) come with a side of freshly made house chips. But, I normally get it with a side salad which is iceberg lettuce, salt, pepper and lemon juice. Sometimes you really should keep it simple because it’s even more satisfying. Their chocolate chip cookies are worth every calorie and inch of guilt you may have after destroying it. If you don’t do yoga or run afterwards, it’s fine because it’s even worth that. Their homemade yogurt with fruit purée is probably what heaven feels like, too… in fact… mostly everything that they serve is a taste of heaven. And finally, because of this place, there is a chance that I may never go to hell. :)

I was a very bad girl… I went off the sugar wagon and was on the hunt for the best cookies west of La Brea. Thanks to my smartphone and the Huffington Post, I greedily poured over a gorgeous slide-show of what were supposedly the best cookies in Los Angeles, while pulled over at the curb, my car eagerly idling, waiting to take me to my date with cookie destiny… Bingo. Slide #2 was for The Larder on Maple Drive. Out of all the choices offered by the HuffPo best of L.A. cookie slideshow, these sounded like the absolute best. Little did I know it would be complicated to find the damn place… but, no matter. As you know, when a chick is on the hunt for something sweet — she rarely misses her mark. The building is actually a sprawling marble and glass office complex with NO numbers on the front. There is also NO legal parking across the street. If you can’t find a meter, you’re essentially SOL. Still, as already noted, when I woman wants her sugar fix, nothing, absolutely nothing will stand in her way. I scored a spot at a meter right in front of the building entrance. A small sandwich board sign was the only indication that cookie heaven awaited me inside — actually outside, in a courtyard directly through the lobby. As I entered The Larder I was surprised at how small it was. It’s postage stamp size. Still they offer homemade baked goods(apparently from The Tavern and Larder in Brentwood) in addition to real food(blech — who needs food when cookies exist) and some killer-looking beverages. I asked the friendly staff, all 4 of them who stood in front of me, which was the absolute best cookie in the joint. My intention was to buy only 1. But as luck would have it, the staff couldn’t agree and it was a straight tie. 2 voted for the chocolate chip, 2 for the molasses date. So, I was obligated to buy both. ;-) The chocolate chip cookie is truly amongst the best I’ve ever tasted. It was almost carmelized. I wouldn’t be surprised if I was told that they put a little coffee in the batter. The cookie had an aroma of espresso. The molasses date was also divine. So amazingly soft and chewy, but I’d have preferred the cookie without the dates — they were obtrusive and interfered with the whole point of the molasses cookie. Either way, I was in heaven — both cookies amazing. And, I realized that I really can trust some of what I read on the Huffington Post. The Larder surely has cookies that rank in the top ten, if not, as reported, the #2 ranking cookies in L.A. Yum.

In search of quality and clean breakfast sandwiches that aren’t a rip off? This is the spot. I recommend the soppresata. It is a breakfast sandwich with thin slices of salami. Nice breakfast potatoes as well. They have some chunky cookies too. I liked the chocolate chip over the date one. Nice quiet outdoor setting when I came around 10. The next time I came I tried a thanksgiving leftover type sandwich which was well put together. The piled high turkey, cranberry sauce and side of chips were the standouts. Solid wheat bread as well. Now just gotta try the steak or chicken. There is a burger on the menu too.

Small location with high-quality ingredients. What makes it different from other places like Joan’s or Lemonade’s? Well, for one thing, it’s more quality than those businesses. Probably more on par with Sycamore Kitchen. Very bright and big flavors that come naturally from the fresh, bright veggies. Any dressings or seasonings only enhance the natural ingredients. $ 13 for a veggie cobb salad which didn’t remind of a cobb salad at all but in a good way. Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie was nice and large and not too sweet. Will be tempted to go back and try the other items.
