Love this place; not a single complaint/issue with a single dish I’ve ever ordered. Thing is… I think it’s been closed, or under SERIOUS renovation/remodel, for some months(my last time there was September, 2010). Can someone confirm this? Phone number goes directly to a «no longer in service» recording.

the food wasn’t special, just as good as other sushi spots, service was v.bad. they really have to make an effort.

Tonight was my second time dining at Tiger. The first time I had a hard time choosing between getting the Creamy Lobster Salad Crispy Rice and the Hokaiddo Scallop Crispy Rice and I ended up choosing the scallop dish. It is one of the best things I have ever eaten. I couldn’t wait to come back so I could try the Lobster Crispy Rice but of course, tonight, they were out of lobster! Such a disappointment! They must have a busy lunch crowd to have run out of lobster because the dinner crowd wasn’t too busy until the end of our meal. Next time I am going to call ahead and let them know what time I will be there and for them to make sure that they save a serving of the lobster crispy rice for me. Seriously. It all turned out ok anyway because I tried something completely new that I probably wouldn’t try otherwise. I got the Hamachi Poke Style Crispy Rice. I normally don’t eat raw fish, I am starting to try it more though. I couldn’t even tell I was eating raw fish. The flavor was amazing and it definitely had a nice kick to it. Even though you only get 4 pieces, they are pretty large, about 2 bites each and the crispy rice makes them pretty dense so they are quite filling. We had started off with edamame and ended with the Carmel White Chocolate Amaretto which they said was their top selling desert. It was white chocolate mousse on top of apples and drizzled with the carmel amaretto sauce. We devoured it. Both times I have gotten the Varadero cocktail which is Soju, Mango, Pineapple and Passionfruit. It cost $ 6 and came in a tall and very skinny glass. My favorite part about Tiger(besides their delicious food) is that they have a partially outside seating area in the front of the restaurant. They have heaters over the tables so you can still enjoy it when the night is chilly. The wait staff is friendly, helpful and attentive. Both times we have come(around 8:30/9:00pm on a Saturday) we were able to walk right in and be seated with out a reservation. And of course, being in Beverly Hills, it makes for an interesting evening of people watching.

the finer things in life. filet mignon. medium rare. a kiss from your one true love. a nine foot bosendorfer. and … TRUFFLESONYOURSUSHI. it really doesn’t get anymore decadent then this. after our meal… we decided to… eat again. lol. because it was my birthday month, and i can be a pig if i want to! we went into to get some drinks(5 bucks each, but kinda teeny), they were delicious! lychee, pomegranate. very classy, nice atmosphere, with a beautiful interior reminiscent of some props from cirque de soleil. this was all fine and dandy until i spotted the specials written on the mirror… black truffle on ground tuna… mmmehhhh it was heavenly. the truffle and truffle oil did overpower the fish a bit, but hey… it’s TRUFFLE… so i can never get enough of that. the fish was prepared in a very interesting way– ground up, with a slab of truffle laid on top, and tinier dab of truffle oil to top it all off. that’s a true testament to whether a food is good or not… eating on a FULL stomach. i can’t wait to come back here for more sushi yummies. come hungry! and don’t forget to check the specials!

Tiger Sushi replaced the unlucky conveyor belt sushi restaurant called Lucky Fish. It’s a sliver of a space(my friend likened it to a tunnel) and has the feel of two separate restaurants. The lateral wood panels of the entrance provide a feeling of woodsy, alfresco dining. Albeit on over-stuffed, comfy cushions and banquettes. You are actually covered which came in handy last weekend during a rare Beverly Hills downpour. A glass partition and door keep the street noise from the main dining room and sushi bar. The interior décor is modern and minimalist with custom designer furniture. During my recent visit, I met one of the partners, Luis Decasas, who served as Director of Operations for Nobu for more than 13 years. He opened more than 15 restaurants around the globe. He and Reza Roohi(Villa) opened Tiger in December of 2009. While the menu provides many Pan-Asian fusion creations like angel hair pasta with uni, guinea hen with champagne vinaigrette, lobster carpaccio, filet mignon, robata, we stuck with their traditional dishes from the lunch menu. The sashimi and sushi combo($ 16) has yellowtail, tuna and salmon along with tasty avocado rolls. While the fish was fresh, the portions were small and you might leave hungry. The hands down best choice for lunch is the chirashi. At just $ 14, you can enjoy yellowtail, tuna, salmon, cooked salmon and spicy tuna. The rice was moist, shiny and perfectly seasoned. It’s the best presentation of this dish in all of Los Angeles with a panoply of colors including both green and purple seaweed. Last note: while many sushi spots in LA have specials, most are offered Monday through Friday only. Tiger is a rare find with these special offerings on Saturdays.

Eh it was OK. I went there this past Saturday to celebrate with my husband’s birthday and the experience overall was really OK. I love Sushi so in comparison to the thousands of sushi places I’ve been to, this one would be ranked somewhere in the middle. Food = OK, their spicy tuna on crispy rice wasn’t as good as Katsuya and it was more pricey. And being it was a bit slow, the food should have came out a bit sooner. Service = OK, could have been a bit more attentive like asked me if I wanted another cocktail would have been nice. I also don’t think our server listened because when we asked him to use soy paper instead of seaweed, all of our sushi was wrapped in seaweed. Atmosphere = Nice. The décor was very contemporary. Would I come back here again? Maybe.

Simple and nice place. Wonderful service. Food was excellent! My husband loved the strip loin and foie gras. I went nuts over the crispy rice with Hokkaido scallop and the Anago tempura. Everthing was delicious. I was disappointed that they ran out of the Praline Harumaki. We got chocolate and peanut butter soufflé instead which was good but nothing exceptional. All in all, a good sushi place with very reasonable prices!
