Beverly Athletic Club

In town for a week and got a week-​long membership. Nice, clean facility with typical amenities. Good selection of equipment and lots of aerobic machines. Interesting location in a refurbished factory. Will visit again next time we’re back. Very pleased.

BAC Express has a wide variety of equipment from dumbbells, barbells, medicine balls to different cardio machines (treadmills, stairclimbers, spinning/​bikes) and weight machines. The staff (who are also certified personal trainers) are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I joined this club for a year an pay monthly at just under $ 50/​month (you can prepay too), but you can ‘upgrade’ to both clubs if you choose for a higher price (and what you get is much better than paying $ 40 for the Ymca).They also offer member discounts and a referral program.
They offer classes here like Booty Barre, etc, in addition to the main BAC location (which you can visit too, with a small additional fee). The entire place is always clean, and even when its busy you dont have to wait to use a machine. This club is 18+ so kids arent running around or sitting on equipment to use their phones etc. Bathrooms and locker room are well maintained. Much better than Planet fitness.

I have been a member here for a few years, and over the past year this club has improved drastically with the new managers there. The managers at the front desk they have there are very attentive to the upkeep of the equipment, cleanliness of the facility, and also very nice to customers. Previously the cave men they had there were rude, and let equipment fall into disarray. Definitely a great no nonsense gym that is convenient to go to and use regularly.

Ed is right, the cleanliness has improved.
there are a lot of machines and it isnt crowded.
I am paying more than I was at the old place 39 up from 35 and more than I pay at planet fitness where I picked up a $ 100 membership but the price is currently acceptable.
It would be nice to have a steam room and some free classes available for this price.
The club has a great location and the other issues are less important.
So in whole it has issues but I would still suggest it to coworkers if they could get the same price deal.
