As a new client, I thought I might at least receive a greeting. Instead, I seated myself and waited 20 minutes beyond the appt. time, while the stylist chatted it up with her bestie. After that, I was shocked at how filthy the station was. Hair all over the floor that appeared not have not been cleaned up once, from morning into afternoon, despite being told it was not busy that day. Not going back.

I love Bella Mia. I only pay $ 35 for a haircut and the price really hasn’t changed in the last 8 or so years that I’ve been going. Nicole is sweet and easy to talk to, which is important to me. She’s done my hair for both of my weddings and does a fantastic job. I’m always happy with the results and they always find a way to make time for you.

I came in to have my hair bleached, I wanted to remove the black dye I had. They used a color remover, which did the work, then a bleach wash, also didn’t work. Then they dyed my roots a light brown, even though the rest was still black it was awful. I ended up going to another a salon a few days later, and 40 min later the black was gone. They put a nice glaze and evened out the brassy tones that had been left behind. I wish I hadn’t wasted my time at bella mia to begin with.

I hadn’t touched my hair since November(!) and desperately needed a trim and my roots taken care of. I called Bella Mia @ 9:02 on Saturday morning to see if they could squeeze in a new client early in their day and they called me back @ 9:06 to see if I could be there for 9:30 so that worked out PERFECT for me. I had Jennifer as my stylist and I’ve gotten nothing but compliments at work about the cut and color.

Bella Mia is a conveniently located hair salon in Billerica Center, situated within O’Connor’s Plaza. Aside from Bill’s Barber Shop, they offer competitive pricing compared to other places in town to receive a men’s haircut. This is a full-service salon, so I was often one of the few men that I saw inside. Lisa does a wonderful job and I used to go to her consistently before I discovered another salon in a nearby town that offered better pricing and gave me as good of a haircut. I felt that the prices at Bella Mia were a bit high, though as I mentioned above, they were still lower than everywhere else in Billerica. I’m not sure why getting a haircut should be so expensive, especially for something as simple as a men’s haircut(most of my haircut consists of using a buzzer). I was also disappointed in their hours, being closed on both Sundays and Mondays, and sometimes found it difficult to make it an appointment. With that said, I do have a good memory of hopping off a local bus from Burlington and getting immediate service. So my advice is to make an appointment, find someone right for you, and see if their prices are in line with your budget.
