This place is the best brewery in town! They really did it right with the new space! That beer is awesome and the atmosphere makes it that much better!

Ummm ok only 1 120 min IPA was done right… until now. Wow guys we got a flight and each beer is perfect! Awesome site and great beer. I might move here for a new local.

4 years. I’ve been in B’ham 4 years and this is my 1^st trip to Cahaba Brewery. That was stupid. Why did I wait so long? This place was awesome. GREAT beer, huge tap room, large outdoor area, fusball, skeeball, board games, live bands, private room, Jenga with 2x4s, pinball machines. This place has everything. The night we went they had a local Thai food truck. I got there late but my friends said it was great. The band was lively and fun. Not so loud I couldn’t talk to my friends. Outdoor area is a huge covered loading dock type area. Had so much fun here. Staff was super friendly. Patrons where super friendly. Everything about the experience was spot on. Even though they had a live band they had no cover charge. Pet friendly so my pup had a good time with me. This is the first place I have seen that enforced the all dogs must be on a leash rule and I appreciate that. Only thing I would change is add more seating to outdoor area and better lights on the band. But I’m just nitpicking. It’s still a 5 star place. Thank you Cahaba Brewery for such a wonderful time. I will be back. Again. And again. And again.

Phenomenal space. Outstanding work has been done to the new location. Every element is superb. I would separate my review of the available beers as I personally think it is a distant third compared to Avondale and Good People but if you want a truly fantastic place to put down a few pints this is it.

I visited Cahaba Brewing for the Bhamburger Battle (great event!). I enjoyed the atmosphere and the beer. The liquidambar was a perfect pairing for various burger sliders. I like the game room/​arcade feel and the pretty open floor. I understand canine companions are a big part of people’s lives and I like that Cahaba is very open to all parts of your family. However, I felt very uncomfortable with a dog roaming freely around the brewery. It seemed to excite/​agitate other dogs and can be very off-​putting for someone who is not as canine-​friendly. Overall, the experience was great. I will definitely come back and maybe my review will change some on my next visit.

I’ve been here a few times now. The new space is beautiful and great for bringing out-​of-​towners to see all the cool stuff Birmingham has to offer. Service was good and I enjoy the great variety of their offerings.

The new location of Cahaba is absolutely amazing! You should definitely check it out. It’s a neat space to take friends, especially if they are from out of town. They have a variety of different things to do, whether it’s listening to a band, playing pinball machines, cornhole, skee ball, or board games at a table with friends, they literally have anything and everything to offer.
The prices on the beer are great and they have a variety of different brews on draft. I prefer the blonde, but that’s just because I haven’t acquired a good taste for beer yet :) Also, if you go on a weekend most of the time there is a food truck parked right outside for some awesome eats!

Love the new location. The large open taproom area provides a very friendly environment to enjoy a tasty local craft brew and take in the weather — recently I’ve enjoyed some early spring beauty and a kickass thunderstorm as well.

The amount of people I have heard talking about the new location is awesome. It’s funny how many people never visited the original location. So we have been there a few times now. The location is great, plenty of parking, great seating areas inside and out. Large tvs and projector screens for when you need to watch something. The bathrooms are beautiful. Board games galore to choose from. Love the huge window overlooking the brewery. And of course skeeball! The new location is a larger version of the original. Love they preserved that feeling. Beers great as well!

Very impressed with Cahaba’s upgraded footprint compared to their old location on 3^rd Ave S. I’ve been here several times on Saturdays and keep wondering «where did all these people come from?» There are 4 main breweries in town now and they all have their own unique characteristics, and each seems to hold a respective crowd independent of what the other is doing. That’s amazing! Haven’t seen live music here yet, but look forward to it as a venue.

We went to Cahaba last night for a friend’s birthday. A few of us showed up early and to set up some decorations and what not. The bartender was very helpful getting us set up and letting us know that if we needed anything just to let him know. The new taproom is huge compared to the old space and it was fairly empty so we had no issue finding space to have our group. Really like the new setup compared to the old. The beer was good as always. I thought they would have a bigger selection but if you’re a beer drinker I’m sure you can find something you’ll enjoy.

For my palate Cahaba has the best quality beer in Birmingham. Blonde, Liquidambar, and their seasonal Oktoberfest are among my favorite beers anywhere. At a disadvantage with the old space, it was tough to compete with greater outdoor/​social spaces like Avondale and Good People. The new atmosphere makes it tough to want to go anywhere else.

IMO, three things go into the making of a good brewery.
–The beer (duh)
–The venue
–The culture
Cahaba’s beers have always been a treat and now with the new location, they’ve built up a fantastic venue for your friends to hang out and the culture of Cahaba will become a standard in Birmingham.

Love the new location. It is huge, and the fact that there is a game room is awesome. The Cahaba Blonde is my favorite. As with all breweries, no food sold, and it is spartan. If you want a glass of wine or soft drink, you need to risk smuggling it in. BUT, that’s what these places are, and Cahaba puts out a great product. It is awesome to see this place go from a small, humble beginning, to this; and, in just a few years. Support your local tap room. And, play Kiss pinball.

Fantastic spot. Great football. Great beers. LOVE the new space! Service is always friendly and who doesn’t love free skeeball!

I never visited the old space but the new Cahaba is really nice. Its open floor space immediately reminded me of Berg’n in Brooklyn so that was mighty cool. You feel like you’re in a bigger city than our wee Birmingham when you walk into that renewed space.
Really nice bathrooms, too! It is sure to be folks favorite hangout.
The single hop and the brown were my favorites.

Thanks to a brand new taproom and brewing facility, I think Cahaba has finally become a major contender in the local craft beer scene. I visited the new location on the day of their grand opening this week, and I was really pleased with the friendly staff and immaculate facility. A visit to the taproom alone is worth the trip. They’ve done a beautiful job renovating the Continental Gin building. My biggest disappointment was that the beer I asked for wasn’t available on their grand opening day (even though it was on the beer list). Additionally, I visited the taproom around 4 in the afternoon, and the music was at a level that I’d expect at 10pm on a weekend night! It wasn’t the best for conversation. They still have kinks to work out, and I doubt their brewing equipment will stay shiny forever (it was SO CLEAN!), but I’m proud to see another craft brewery join the big guys in Birmingham.

Cahaba Brewing has taken a huge step up in the Birmingham Craft Beer scene with their new production facility and taproom. The expansive industrial-​inspired space looks capable of holding large crowds and the large plate glass windows looking onto the production area will appeal to patrons who like to see how their favorite brews are made. The only negative I could think of was the excessively loud music coming from their impressive audio system… it inhibits conversation which is why I like to visit local watering holes.
With a location in the old Avondale Mills property, I suspect a regional rivalry will break out between the Cahaba and Avondale breweries. Being so close to each other, it could be fun doing some comparison tastings (but be sure to call Über if you partake of all the varieties on tap!).

Excellent place to grab some local brew. Service is extremely friendly. Looking forward to their new space.

Gotta like our local brewerys! Cahaba has great beer, served from the tap, at a reasonable price. Not a bar, not a restaurant, but a brewery. Check it out.

I’m slowly making my way around Birmingham’s breweries, and recently discovered Cahaba. What a cool place! I arrived a few minutes before 5PM on a Wednesday evening, so parking was a breeze. Grabbed a beer and waited for my friends to arrive. I loved the set up, with the skee ball. The place was pretty empty until around 6PM when a food truck arrived, and the band arrived to set-​up right behind where we were sitting. We left right before they started playing… not sure we would have been able to hear each other over the music had we stayed. Overall a cool, chill, relaxed environment.

Free skee ball… what What WHAT! Come on now, you know it’s the small indulgences in life that make life fun. Pair that with some great excellent brews priced at $ 5 a pop and you’re in business. Come here now… Do it.

I have a tough time with Cahaba because I really want to like it as much as the others in town but in my mind it seems to fall short in a couple areas.
I do like the open, no frills element and the fact that you can see all the brewing elements while you enjoy the product however it is definately less polished than the others in town.
Last time there, all of the skeeball machines were broken so we opted for darts, which is in a weird «arcade room» off the taproom. The darts w ere plastic and couldn’t stick even if I was actually a decent player with any sort of upper arm strength.
Their beer is decent but just not awfully impressive. I’ve tried all their flagships and am by once a month or so to see if they’ve got anything new. All lack anything unique in flavor.
If there weren’t so many other great options in town, I may review higher but it’s tough competition. They do have longer hours than Trim Tab so it’s always a good fallback if you’re in the area

This was a really fun place to go. We went on the day of the Kentucky derby races and it was great because they were showing the derby on their big screen/​projector TV.
There were a good amount of people there, but it was by no means super crowded. When we went to the bar to get the flight that they had listed, they told us they no longer had any clean cups. That was that. We really wanted to try the flight, so we went to tables that had empty flights and brought a couple to him to wash (not entirely sure why he didn’t do that as no one else was in line and there was another server/​bartender behind the counter with him not doing anything). The beer was good, but I didn’t love many of their pours… There were about 3 – 4 that I thought were good. There were definitely some clever ones like a lemon drop your pants or something like that.
After we got our flights, we decided to play skeeball. That was super fun. They have 3 or 4 skeeball tables, but I remember at least one if not two of them were not working. Oh well, they were free.
They also had free sancks. They had little bags of pretzels and bags of chips to munch on… I guess this was because they didn’t serve any food. Nice touch.
I loved how they would allow dogs to come. Big plus for me!

Best beer in town with the worst parking! No frills brewery with some of the best suds in Birmingham. Love the live music and food truck nights.

There were a few breweries in the area we were at and decided to stop in here just before they opened. The gentleman working came out and let us in a few minutes early since we’re waiting outside.
This is a very relaxed hang out kind of brewery. It’s open so you can see the brewing going on if they’re working that day. There’s a long bar and then quite a few picnic tables. On nice days they open the side garage doors to let the fresh air and light in. The bar area it’s, f is very small with only a few Taos but it works well. They have samplers and that’s what we decided to go with and got 5. I agree with the other reviewer about water, but he was nice enough to fill some cups from the sink, which was just fine with us. They have a pretty wide selection for a small brewery. An IPAD a blond and even a few darker beers including a stout. I was a fan of the blond and the Bavarian/​hefe style ones. My husband loved the IPA, and even though I’m not an IPA fan in the slightest I found this one quite tolerable!
They have skeeball to play (which come on is awesome in itself!) and also have merchandise for purchase such as glasses, stickers, and tshirts/​tank tops. The prices here were totally reasonable across the board! I think we’ll definitely swing through here on our next trip to the area!

I’m mixed about this place which is why I only give this place three stars. My first encounter with this establishment was for a marketing function. The 2^nd time was for a running group. On both instances the beer was great, however the parking was horrible. No clear parking locations and if you ask for water, they’ll simply tell you that they don’t offer this. For those of you who we’re wondering why I asked for water, well this was our start and stopping point for my running group. The group size was about 20 – 25 and out intension was to have a beer or two after our run. Now don’t get me wrong, I did end up having a beer afterwards and it’s a great atmosphere, but being denied water initially was kind of turn off. We brought a large crowd, please be able to cater to simple request. That’s my 2 cents.
