Dermatology Associates PC

I’m a new patient and went to Dermatology Associates to see for myself what kind of care I would receive after seeing such varying reviews. The nurses that took care of me at the beginning of my appointment were very friendly as were the front desk staff. I, however, had to wait over 30 minutes in the exam room for Dr. Ibrahim who apparently forgot about me (the nurse had no idea that I had not yet been seen when she popped in to check on me). Once the doctor came in she was friendly, quick, and thorough. I did feel slightly rushed and wasn’t given any recommendations besides coming back in a year. Since I waited for awhile at the office, I myself didn’t have time to dilly-​dally, but had I had more concerns about my health I’m unsure of how that would have gone. All in all, I love the proximity of the office to my home and work but am open to other dermatologist offices if I find one in a year.

I am a new patient and will not be returning. I waited about 30 minutes for my appointment and Dr. Ibrahim spent no more than 5 minutes with me. She was rushing me and did not care about what I’ve used in the past as I’ve had difficult skin for several years. She told the assistant to call in a prescription for Acanya and gave me a coupon for $ 0 copay for Acanya. However, when i went to the pharmacy this prescription was not called in and instead there was a $ 500 gel that was called in. I called Dermatology Associates and asked where the Acanya was and I was told it was a mistake and I should not have been prescribed that. So why was I given a coupon and why did Dr. Ibrahim ask her assistant to call it in right in front of me? They keep giving me the run around and they keep calling in different prescriptions to my pharmacy when I tell them I can’t afford a $ 500 copay. The most recent prescription they called in is $ 1,000. I am so beyond frustrated. I work in the medical field and I know how important it is to listen to your patient.

Dr. Shek and Dr. Ibrahim are not only great doctors but truly care. They are able to do any and all procedures needed; cosmetic and medical are all within the same office which is important for them to fully understand your medical profile. I could not be happier.
