Tacos are great, staff have always been nice. One thing people may not know is that they have burgers as well. I usually just get a plain cheeseburger with fries on the side. The burgers are cooked to perfection(at least to my taste :)) and you get a decent helping of fries. Its probably the best value on a burger/fry combo in this area. Like others have stated, it’s very cramped. Best to call in your order then pick up.

When this place moved into the old Becky’s location, I honestly thought there would be no chance that it would succeed or even serve good food, but I was incredibly wrong. This place has quality Mexican food and it is worth a try, especially if you work near UAB. The restaurant is super tiny, probably less than 5 seats inside, so plan to get your food to go. The restaurant’s menu is pretty typical Mexican fare: tacos, burritos, quesadillas, etc. I have tried two burritos from here, pork and chorizo. I thought the pork was a little bland, but the chorizo I had tonight was extremely flavorful and very spicy. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable: I ordered a huge burrito with chips and salsa and a drink for $ 8.50. The staff is friendly, the food is good. Only downside is lack of indoor seating. Highly recommend!

The best tacos in town? No! The best tacos you can get in town and at lunch time? Probably yes! You thing only you won;t like about this place, and it is its size. It is tiny! You are lucky if you can find a seat where to rest while having your food. Ideal for a to go lunch. I love these tacos

Completely unfamiliar with Birmingham, I was lucky enough to wander in here. Had a perfectly cooked steak omelet with chips and salsa. Service was great too.

This place was really good! I had a chicken and asada street style taco! The tacos were fresh and cooked to order! DELICIOUS! My only complaint was the asada. It could have used a little more flavor. The tacos came with chips and salsa. The salsa was delicious and had the perfect amount of spice! Friendly staff!

I tried Fish taco(Soft) and Steak taco(Hard). Both them are pretty good and tasty. Small place, friendly service. Freshly made, wish that they could have a table for self-service hot/salsa sauce area, just like Sancho’s Taqueria in California. Owner said more menu are coming.

I had the basic bacon, egg, and cheese burrito. I ordered the combo and it came with chips and salsa. The burrito was cook to order, which was nice… However, it was very runny with egg and that is all you could taste. The chips were a bonus, but I really wanna like this place and I will be giving them another chance… Maybe try to lunch menu next time…

First visit. Had a «combo» of chips & salsa &2 fish tacos. Chips were fresh & crunchy, salsa wasn’t «pretty», more of a darker red/brown color and a little thin, but good, fresh flavor. Had a nice, mild flavor with a little after kick. Not too spicy. The fish tacos(soft) were very good. Nice piece of grilled Tilapia, lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese and a creamy chipotle dressing. Service was very quick & friendly. I’ll be back!

Well… what can I say. I was so excited to hear that there would be Mexican food near UAB and within walking distance! Unfortunately my experience was a huge disappointment. Long story short. 1. Semi-friendly staff. 2. Warm food, not hot. Definitely underseasoned steak quesadilla, beef burrito. 3. Watery salsa, a little on the skimpy side. For $ 7 – 8, please fill up the cup. Not sure if I would return, given this is my second visit. Definitely in need of customers and food quality improvement. Hopefully they will get it sooner than later.

This place recently opened in place of University Grill which formerly occupied this space. On a whim, 3 colleagues and I tried it for take-out lunch. The prices were right… $ 6 – 8 tacos salads, $ 2 – 3.50 tacos and $ 5 – 6.50 burritos. I had never been inside the University Grill so I was a little surprised at the shotgun layout of this place. Bare minimum seating at a tiny bar along the hallways. We wouldn’t have sat here even if we had originally planned to. Service was courteous and quick with orders/bills being processed in rapid succession. It took ~8−10minutes for all 4 of our salads to be prepared and for us to walk out the door. The to-go containers are comically cumbersome… catering-style aluminum chafing covered dishes. The finished product was decent. I had the shrimp salad and there were 10 medium sized shrimp sauteed with bell peppers and tomatoes on a bed of iceberg-lettuce/carrot/cabbage premixed salad. The whole salad was nestled in a freshly fried tortilla and topped with a small dollop of sour cream and a side serving of salsa. They do have breakfast burritos/tacos and do offer catering services. I’ll be back to try their breakfast and may indeed be back to satisfy a mexican craving for lunch.
