Creative menu, friendly service… fresh ingredients. Outside of the resort it is really the only restaurant north of Bellingham that is not American ‘Glop’. From a Bay Area Native… it’ll be our new little secret!

I work in the Blaine area, and I tend to be up here a little earlier than I need to be before my shift since I drop my husband off first. My intention is to start working out pre-shift, but, well… I was starving. I have never been overly moved by my food choices in Blaine other than the Thai place down the road(it’s shockingly good), but that has changed today. The Peace Arch City Café has a delightful menu including breakfast, lunch, pastries and coffee as well as a relaxed ambiance that made me feel very comfortable. I chose«The Loomis Club» sandwich(there were many options named after local landmarks) which was on a nice toasted bread and included roast beef, turkey, bacon, tomato, onion, lettuce and what I believe was a very subtle horseradish mayo as well as mozzarella… and it was fantastic. As well as the side salad that came with it: Not an afterthought of bagged salad, instead a fresh little pile of greens with bright, fresh veggies including julienned radish(nice touch). The waitstaff who greeted me was lovely, my server, Jason as well as the other gal(didn’t catch her name) were perfect, and bonus: FREEWIFI. The other patrons were overheard raving about their sandwiches, soups, and beverages as well. I will be back. A lot. Thank you, Peace Arch City Café, for giving me a lovely place to loiter and dine before I report to work.

Yum. We tried sandwiches with salad, along with the homemade lime/berry/mint lime aide. Everything was perfect a gem, not to miss if you’re up here!

We come through Blaine often, and always make a point of stopping here. Everything is pretty tasty, and the servers are extremely friendly and thoughtful. Eating outside on the deck is nice. One time I ordered the huevos rancheros and it was a bit gringo(the guacamole was nonsense). But every other dish has been great!

The Peace Arch City Café was an excellent place to eat with our three kids and our friends. The sandwiches were delicious. The bread was fresh and tasty. The salads and greens in the sandwiches were crunchy and tasted like they came from someone’s nearby garden. We will definitely come back when we are heading back to Vancouver.

Great food, wonderful staff, in the middle of lovely downtown Blaine. I had the yummiest huevos rancheros with warm corn tortillas and a tasty avocado-tomato-sour cream topping. He had a traditional bacon and eggs breakfast that looked great. Big portions and very satisfying. We got sit on the deck on a beautiful June morning and enjoy a delicious breakfast with a friendly staff. And we met a darling doggie, too! Definitely stop here and take a few minutes to wander downtown before you head out.

Just finished lunch with 3 others. We are all spoiled gourmet diners and agreed the meal was Absolutely amazingly delicious. Curry butternut squash soup with hint of cinnamon and crème fraîche was unbelievable, fresh and yummy! Unusual sardine salad, pickled red onion, Avacado, just the perfect amount of aoli dressing(slight hint of horseradish) Can’t say enough. Ambiance relaxed, friendly, owners personable and engaged. Frank honest review! Go there!

I just love this place. An oasis of simple, fresh, imaginative meals. Wonderful baked goods. Friendly staff. Their collection of great music from the first half of the 1900’s, Swing Era, sets the tone. Blaine is all about Breakfast. This one is my favorite.

So, I ended up in Blaine, a couple thousand miles from«home,» and the first place I stop in is of course: Peace Arch City Café. Fast forward to the actual part where I enter the building and needless to say, it’s cozy, a classic nook of a café nestled comfortably in Blaine. There’s some real retro, early 20th century tunes plucking away and the atmosphere feels like a sense of familiarity and it smells delicious. I was greeted promptly, made a random order for the Peace Portal sandwich with a side of tomato soup, and I was served shortly after — everything freshly made! Fast forward again and I’ve been to this place well over a dozen times in the last few months, despite living in Canada, and I have never been disappointed. This café is undoubtedly worth a stop in Blaine whether you’re from a couple thousand miles away, just across the border, or cozily in Blaine yourself.

Found this place on Unilocal when my friend and I made a day trip to Blaine. It is in a quaint old house with a large deck. Perfect for beautiful sunny days. We ordered sandwiches and they were delicious! Ordered coffees and a couple of pastries for the road. Good coffee and the coffee cake was especially delicious. Service was incredibly warm and friendly. The breakfast menu looks amazing. Definitely coming back here the next time I’m in Blaine to try it. Highly recommended.

well, this place is now serving beer and wine, and frankly, it is just getting better… i think in general, all the four and five star reviews this hard working couple, John and Kylie, received when they used to operate the Little Red Caboose(from 2009 – 2012), and then their subsequent move to a larger space at this current location shows a great deal of fan fare and consistency in their service, food, drinks, and style of hospitality… five years of consistent four to five star reviews must have some meaning… heck, even the B’hamster’s are starting to notice this place…

We came in for breakfast after dropping some crab traps. Very pleasing small quaint, place with attentive service and delicious food. We had breakfast sandwiches all around, dawn break, green eggs and ham were both fabulous! Moderate portions, fairly priced.

Nice clean spot just off the beaten path, only a stones throw south from the Blaine border crossing into Canada. Outdoor deck dining under umbrella topped tables and inside service are both offered for their breakfast and lunch menu. Breakfast is served until 11:00 and I definitely want to return and try that meal as it looks to be their forte! Limited lunch offerings of really tasty panini style sandwiches along with home-style soups on the lunch menu. Many of the sandwiches names are themed due to the café location as my roast beef club was named«DHS» after department of homeland security. Other paninis were called«border crossing» and«Peace Arch». Sided with a choice of kettle chips or a spinach salad topped with carrot threads and served with generous amounts of fresh fixings. After virtually licking and cleaning my plate there was no room for the cheesecake in the glass case. Next time maybe? Offering wine, beer and Coke products with friendly cheerful service that was slow but attentive. They were bustling with hungry travelers during the lunch hour. Don’t miss this little gem as a last stop or first stop depending on your travels!

Say what?! This was such a pleasant surprise after crossing the border for Victoria Day long weekend. My husband and I were famished and we were disappointed that a few highly rated places on Unilocal are now closed. We randomly came across this place in a hypoglycaemic state and were really impressed by: 1. Cleanliness 2. Staff and service 3. Paninis 4. Honestly, likely the BEST cheesecake I’ve had which was made in house. Vancouverites… cheesecake etc needs to step aside! If you need to refuel and want a nice healthy dose of smiles and good food(great coffee too), support this local joint. We will be back.
