We bought out car at Bloomfield Garage and the only place we take it for repair. They are good at working around schedules (have only one car). And give rides of close so don’t have to wait all day. I trust them with my car and will purchase the next car from them also. Great service!

This garage has been a fixture in Bloomfield ever since cars were invented. Well, almost! Anyway, they do two things, and they do them both well. First is repair. This is a family-​run place, with a combination of street smarts, experience, and state-​of-​the-​art diagnostic equipment. They do a great job, won’t tell you it’s done until they’re satisfied with the work. They also don’tlook at the most expensive soultion right away. I brought my baby — a ’06 Taurus — this morning for a new starter. They were aware that I’d had problems with this particular part in the past, but before replacing it outright, wanted to see how it worked if they cleaned the battery cables first. In this case, it was definitely the starter. I brought it at 7:45, and drove out at 8:20. This is probably not typical, but it does show their response to loyal customers.
The second thing they do well is sell pre-​owned cars. They have anywhere from 20 to 30 cars on the lot, with extremely fair prices. I bought my Taurus there, and while driving onto I-​91 this morning, it hit the 200,000 mile mark… YAayayaya! Anyway, since they are mechanics, they thoroughly inspect each car before they bring it in, so you can be confident you’re not getting a lemon. Most of the cars are reasonably late-​models too. Definitely worth checking into if you’re in the market for a good used.
