We will never come back here again. The food was horrible, I think my steak was spoiled and the chicken in my enchilada tasted old. My husband’s Carne Asada was so tough he could not cut it. I had a margarita & it was all mix & no tequila.

It took almost a full hour to get our food. Kinda rediculous! When we finally got the food, it tasted good, but the portion was kinda small. I shared what was supposed to be a «2 person» portion of Fajitas. The people at the table next to us, got more on their 1 person portion, than we did in our 2 person size. That was kinda weird too. Overall, not very happy. My fiancé and I were pretty surprised, because last time we went there(like 6 months ago), we were very happy with the food and experience.

My boyfriend and I try to eat here at least once a month — usually on Friday nights to enjoy the $ 3 margaritas. Plus, we usually have a coupon for B1G1 free — or I saw today they are on as well. I have to agree with the other Unilocalers — the«usual» waitress does seem like she is always running, or on speed — but very attentive! The chips and salsa are good and they keep re-filling them. I usually order the steak chimichanga and love it! My boyfriend usually orders the chicken enchiladas with green sauce and enjoys them every time. Quality and service is consistant — which keeps us coming back!

You ever go to a restaurant and leave the place under the impression your server was on speed? You know, in a good way? Lately, that’s been the case on our more recent trips to La Estancia. We tend to go there because it’s on the way to the grocery store, there’s always coupons for it, and it’s a solid B+ Mexican restaurant, but lately the service has just been attentive and efficient. The waitress we’ve been getting just flies through the place, always filling drinks, getting you more chips and salsa, getting your order to you quickly, and all without being impersonal or making you seem rushed. It’s just kind nice. As for the food, like I said a solid B+. The chips are particularly excellent. Fresh made and given to you warm. They don’t have the biggest selection and they could definitely use more combinations or the ability to put your own together. Still, they particularly have good enchiladas and chimichangas. I also love the rice and beans that come with almost every dish. They’re sometimes the most flavorful item on your plate and that’s not a bad thing at all. So, if you want good Mexican food with really good service, I’d definitely recommend this quiet little place.

Thanks to the tasty food, frequent coupons and speedy, friendly service, we’re practically regulars at La Estancia by now. The chips are usually warm and always tasty; the salsa is smooth, thick and addictive, and everything I’ve tried on the menu has been flavorful and well-prepared. I often get veggie enchiladas or fajitas, not because I’m a vegetarian but because I don’t want to OD on cheese. The veggie fajita dinner may actually be vegan(unless the refried beans have lard in them, I couldn’t say). I do wish they’d add some onions to the mix and use shredded carrots instead of entire baby ones. But the mix(spinach, bell peppers, carrots) is well-seasoned and tender-crisp. The veggie enchiladas are also quite good, with a zippy verde sauce. On the carnivore side of things, chilaquiles are totally delightful. My husband often gets chimichangas, tacos or flautas and devours everything. The regular waitress is super-friendly, speeds through the place like she’s on wheels but doesn’t make you feel rushed and is happy to provide plenty of refills on chips and drinks. While it’s not the nicest place in town or the best Mexican food in the area, it’s a solid choice that always satisfies.

Maybe my taste buds are conflicted… maybe I’ve been spoiled by having more authentic mexican food… This place just didn’t do it for me. Let’s see — the service is great and attentive. The chips and salsa were always full. The margaritas were fine(3 dollar specials on T, W, F). But the food was lacking. I had a combo platter with what I consider two mexican staples — carne asada and enchiladas suiza. The enchilada was average but had dry chicken in it. The carne asada was a cheap cut of meat and covered with Montréal Steak Seasoning. The last portion was a chimichanga which are never my favorite and it was average. The inside is somewhat a dump — older décor with a non working fountain.

Service was a little slow but the freshly made chips and salsa kept us happy before ordering. Looking for an inexpensive meal for two the tostadas(under $ 12) and steak fajitas(also under $ 12) were large in portion and were served with freshly made guacamole, refried beans, rice and sour cream. Don’t eat too much of the chips and salsa and you may be able to finish your entrée. I would definitely go back again, but this time for the 75 cent tacos at the bar offered during the week.

This is a standard Mexican place in many ways — the decorating and the menu were nothing out of the ordinary. However my crab and shrimp enchiladas were very good(and I think they were only $ 12). The guacamole had been pre-made, and the margaritas were overly sweet, so I don’t recommend them. However, I’d go back for those enchiladas.
