Big Gunz movers just cancelled on me 5 days before our move. He was making ME write a contract due to the fact that I wanted something in writing that would protect me since it was a cash job. When he told me the truck fee, I kindly sent him a picture of the original text stating that he had quoted me $ 60 less. He then texted me that he «didn’t like where this is going» and cancelled the job. I would not recommend this company unless you want to risk moving with a company who: 1. Does not do any written documentation(so they cannot be held responsible for anything) 2. Since they do not document or schedule anything, relies on texting as their form of agreement 3. Quotes you higher than what you originally agreed on 4. Cancels on you when you want something in writing. I guess the lesson is, you get what you pay for. In this case, I am glad he cancelled on me. I can only imagine the nightmare that would have ensued if they actually got their hands on my things.

Owner showed up drunk and high on the job. I looked his background up and saw he was a five time felon for violent crimes. I ordered him out and he refused so I called police and he was aressted for warrants.

These guys are great. I hired them pretty last minute for a move from St. Paul to Minneapolis and they were on time, super helpful, and really careful with all of my stuff. Both guys were so nice and considerate of my stuff and time. Because of our good experience we hired them again for my brother’s move and were very pleased again. They even stored their stuff overnight due to a one-day gap in leases. I would definitely recommend them and plan on using them for my next move as well.

Wow, the last couple of reviews are not similar to the experience i had with these guys. I recently moved from Edin Prairie to Apple Valley, and called these guys the night before my move. They showed up on time and the NEW owner Brent made me feel comfortable and was very helpful with everything I had him do. Even offered to setup up my bed after the move was over. didn’t charge me for the extra time we went over. I got to know Brent(owner) and his guy Kieth pretty well and will definitely use them in the future. Brent informed me that he worked for the company for some time through college and then bought the company after he got his degree. This young man knows what he is doing and will be friendly and professional with whomever he moves. Use Big Gunz!

Though I had booked the move well in advance with the owner, when I called back to confirm the details and make a change to the start address, I was shocked to learn that they had NO record of our upcoming move. I took this as a warning sign and wanted to change to a different company, but since we were getting down to the last minute I figured it wasn’t worth the risk of having no help at all. I couldn’t have been more wrong. At this point it might have been wiser to cancel our reservation and hire some well-trained monkeys. The employee and the owner showed up 15 minutes late. He called to find us so I told him we were in the alley behind the building. His employee found us by following the tell-tale sign of a move underway: a U-haul parked out back. This was the first of several relatively brilliant moves on this kid’s part. The owner, however, was nowhere to be found. So I went through the building and into the street where I hilariously found him knocking on the door of the building next door to mine, in spite of having given him the address twice at this point. Anyway, we showed them the apartment and explained the load-in situation to the two guys. At this point we were prepared to sit back, offer some guidance and carry light things like boxes of sheets or delicate framed objects. WECOULDNOTHAVEBEENMOREWRONG. The employee was hauling butt up and down the stairs carrying his share of boxes while the owner spent the time alternating between taking phone calls on his headset and complaining about how this move was giving him a workout. Let me pause on that for a moment to make it perfectly clear. THEMOVERWEHIREDTOCARRYOURHEAVYTHINGSWASCOMPLAININGABOUTHAVINGTOCARRYHEAVYTHINGS. Moving on, the next real shining moment came when it became perfectly clear that in another feat of managing to shut off the sensory organs responsible for receiving verbal signals, it was overlooked by the owner that we would somehow have to manage to get a queen sized mattress into an already-loaded truck. Things like this happen during a move, and in many respects we were in a really good position since we had on hand my partner’s mother who holds a PhD in civil engineering. While the owner contemplated the possibility of completely unloading the truck, or alternatively storing the mattress in the dog-poop infested alley in Stevens Square, she intervened to point out the obvious solution. Instead of thanking her, he YELLEDATHER some sort of diatribe that had something to do with being«the mover you hired and knowing best how to do a move». She thankfully did not yell back. About an hour into the move, the owner managed to make his second or third trip upstairs. There, he encountered my partner carrying a load of boxes down the stairs. He demanded that she put them down and asked for her help carrying something different. When she did not do the demanded carrying to his satisfaction, he called her incompetent and told her to get away. He then banged on the windows and yelled his employee’s name over and over again to get him to drop the boxes he was carrying to come help him upstairs… presumably to carry boxes. When he was out of my view, he was continuously yelling at his employee. He accused him alternatively of being unable to lift things(and by association of being gay) or claiming that he was hitting on my partner and her mother, which he was definitely NOT doing. At one point, the owner abandoned any attempt to participate in the move and began to set his computer up on top of his car. To be fair, when I pointed out the inconsistency of being hired to perform a move and then going on the internet during the move, he shut the computer down and pitched in. The movers demonstrated absolutely no existing knowledge of how to pack a truck and we lost a mirror and an expensive frame during the move. The entire side of my couch is coated in dirt from being stored in the truck on its side. All that being said, the owner apologized to me halfway through the move for yelling at my partner and her mother. Since I’m not some sort of patriarch stewarding the lives of these women, I did not accept his apology, the benefit of which is that he seemed to work harder to complete the move. They finished the move in the estimated time, though it should be noted that I let them go early and did not use their help with the unload because of all of the aforementioned chaos.
