Britanie Olson is the best bartender I know! Always ahead ahead of the game. Also amazingly personable. If you want great service ask for her.

This place sucks as a cowboy bar. No country dancing at all. Rap music only and club music. If rather drive to Omaha to their country bars. It was the night before Kenny Chesney and the mc only played 2 songs. None of the songs were even Kenny’s. Never again. Don’t go here for dancing

Went on a monday night around 830. Waitress took our drink order an it took about 10 min to get 2 drinks. She didn’t engage, offer a menu, or ask if we needed anything else. She messed up our friends drink order also. Waitress came by our table at best every 2530 min. Not impressed. Have been to different location of cowboy jacks an have had better service.

Unbelievable happy hour and patio. HH6 – 9 and 10 – 12 everyday. $ 2 beer and CALLS ! That’s best HH I’ve seen. AND half price on most apps-long list and really good food!

We clearly came here on the wrong night. It was late-ish(just before 9) on a Friday night, and this is where our local hosts brought us. From the very beginning, when we said we were there to eat and not there for«club night,» I felt that our party of four was a low priority annoyance. ATBEST. Our waitress who took our order was argumentative and snarky while taking my order. I pointed out something on the menu and she, without looking, sarcastically said it wasn’t there. Alrighty then.(I ordered something specifically for the side that came with it, and she was very«Um, I don’t think so.») Rude. Maybe it had to do with the fact that she was done for the night, because we never saw her again. Our next server was equally enthusiastic. One of us ordered the all-you-can-eat Friday fish fry. After he finished his plate, he waited quite some time to place another reorder because the waitress rarely made an appearance. As a result, we all had to wait around. When he made a second request for more fish, the waitress said they were done serving it at 9:00. We ORDERED at about 9. Nothing was mentioned, and we said so. She then remarked that she’d see what she can do, but that the kitchen might not like it. Ten minutes later she came back with some fish, placed it in front of him without looking at him and walked away. I’ve had bad service before, and this ranked among the worst. The food: I can speak only for myself. The brisket was meh, and it came drenched in sauce. The fries(the side I didn’t want) were fillers — not crispy, not well seasoned, just bland calories. Oh, and all the free peanuts people get excited about… not on «club night.» Here’s the thing, if you don’t want people to come and spend money on food at your restaurant on a Friday night, don’t serve food on a Friday night. Save us all the hassle.

Came here on a Thursday night. They had a live band which was playing your typical crowd pleasing tunes. Service was a little slow but due to the crowd, I can understand. Once we got a waitress, she was great. Tater tot casserole was amazing! Not what u would usually get but glad I did. They have a mechanical bull, patio, pool tables, pull tab station and video games like Big Buck and Golden Tee. Would definitely visit again.

In town for a couple of days and this place came highly recommended from our hotel which just happens to be right next door. Walked over at 6pm, we were greeted and seated right away. Waitress was nice and efficient. My friend and I ordered burgers, his with regular fries and mine was the bison burger with sweet potatoe fries. Both meals arrived within a reasonable time, however my sweet potatoe fries were refrigerator cold. Pointed it out and they were replaced. The burgers were ok for typical bar fare but I could barely taste the bison flavor in mine. We finished up, payed up and left. 2 hours later we both began to experience the most painful and nauseating heartburn ever. And it lasted until 7 am the next morning. I will be suggesting that the hotel not recommend this venue to their patrons. Only giving two stars because the staff was friendly and efficient. R. Campbell

This bar is really fun but for some reason they started playing the worst music I’ve ever heard. It’s some terrible country/rap. I don’t even know what to call it it’s so bad. It’s embarrassing that they even play that crap. I will seriously consider never going here again if they keep playing it. Those so called rappers are embarrassing for white people. It’s rare to find a good white rapper and now these idiots come in here and make it worse. Thanks Cowboy Jacks.

Pretty unsatisfactory. Chicken artichoke sandwich was gross. Chicken pesto flatbread — less than a quarter eaten. Hamburger was fine but French fries were straight out of a bag. Calamari appetizer — another straight from the freezer product(like chewing rubber bands). Best dish was the meatloaf slider(and I don’t even like meatloaf). Maybe a fun place for drinks but even then a limited tap menu. I’d probably just go anywhere else to be honest.

We visited the Bloomington location last weekend. Had a few beers, played some pull tabs and ordered a pizza… all around good times. Until my first(and second) piece of pizza… I bit into the first piece and immediately crunched down on something hard. It was a chunk of bone(not chewy cartilage or a piece of my own tooth) about the size of a large piece of rice. I put it on a plate to show the waitress and proceeded to grab a different piece of pizza. Same thing! The chunk of bone was slightly smaller but another piece of bone nonetheless. I informed our waitress, she grabbed the chunks of bone(along with the pizza), apologized and brought the pizza to the back. 5 minutes later a manager came out, apologized and said it must have been pieces of «hard cheese» and that another pizza would be coming out shortly. I told him it was definitely pieces of bone but he didn’t respond with much and left. 3 things… 1. Don’t tell me(the person who almost broke a tooth) what was in my pizza. Cheese doesn’t get that hard. It was obviously bone from the ground sausage. It was a lame attempt at covering their backs. 2. Don’t assume I want the same thing that just contained shards of bone! 3. Offer SOME sort of comp. I wasn’t looking for anything free(nor did I ask) but come on. It’s good customer service to offer up a little something, something. Oh and a 4th thing… the second pizza was extremely soggy in the middle and had a taste of funk that I can’t describe. I only ended up eating a few edge pieces and some of the toppings. Won’t be ordering their pizza again…

Had a party of 7 on a busy night. Was told the wait would be 40 minutes but they sat us in 20 minutes and they were very accommodating. Friendly staff, and the manager came over before and after we were seated to ask if we needed anything. It was definitely loud in there, but we could talk without issues hearing. The calamari and cornbread appetizers were both great! If you get fries or tots, try them with the seasoned sour cream. It’s hard to describe but it’s awesome.

I went here with my coworkers to do an white elephant gift exchange. We had a blast. The cheap happy hour drinks are definitely making me come back again. We ordered some half off appetizers. I had the queso deepdish things with tortilla chips. It was pretty good! The cheese had a bit of a spice to it and it was perfect for a cheese dip. I also tried some of the cornbread skillet appetizer! That was great, because I never felt like cornbread could taste like a dessert with honey butter sauce. Yummm!!! The calamari wasn’t as great as other please where it tastes more fresh. But it was okay for a half priced appetizer. Our waitress Stephanie was great. She checked up on us frequently and patient and made my first experience at the cowboy jacks in bloomington great! I think my total was only $ 8.70 for a mixed drink and the nachos!

This was my second time at Cowboy Jack’s, the first being late on a Friday night. My previous visit I found myself face to face with my past — emotionless questions from old high school acquaintances. However, the music was live, the drinks were flowing and the crowd was thick — I figured it’d be a cool place to bring an out of town guest to for some fun. We came on Sunday(the night before labor day, so we thought more people would be out given the day off) around 10:00. I was really surprised by the crowd… we seemed in the minority to be under 40. It was a bunch of drunk sloppy moms and predatory old men. We scooted around the bar to different areas trying to find a «safe» place and ended up just playing Big Buck Hunter before finishing our beers and running away. On the upside, their happy hour started at 10:00 and it was $ 2 taps and domestic bottles, so we left with a buzz for $ 13. The menu was extensive and offered tons of different kinds of food — seemed like the people eating enjoyed themselves… They have free popcorn which is nice. A downside for sure is that they kind of are in the middle of nowhere. People are clearly coming and getting loaded, then they have to drive home(full parking lot most of the time).

Had my review only been for Friday it would be 1 star! Friday went for bday party, it was packed, could barley move around, came on a party bus and would’ve rather been on that, not my scene. Saturday however, went for my bachelorette party, we had the party room! So worth it! I would go back for sure but only if we got the party room, can get away from the bar scene and get drinks quickly! We had a great server, even though it was her first night serving on her own! She kept up with drinks and food, it was an amazing difference than my night before! Being a pinup cowgirl theme bachelorette party it was the best ending point, riding a bull!

It has plenty of TVs; big selection of appetizers to choose from; a mechanical bull for your entertainment; and outdoor porch so you can look hip while drinking outside for the 2 – 3 months in MN… What is not to like? For some reason, for a sport bar, I expected more… A lot more. I don’t care for their food. It is too noisy for real discussion among friends. Most of my friends are not dumb enough to get on the mechanical bull… Hence there are no entertaining value there. Cowboy Jack’s parking parking lot is like a maze that makes you wonder if there are any engineers left in the world. Because my friends(mostly men mind you) are not creative enough to find a better place to hang out for big sporting events, we usually wind up back here 4 – 6 times a year… I need to reconsidering my circle of friends.

Sometimes second chances are a waste of time. I came here with a friend back in December or January– I can’t remember nor do I want to. One of the managers stumbled across my previous review and she emailed me. She said although my review wasn’t music to her ears(LOL), she invited me back in. How nice of her! I emailed her my address and the next week I received a $ 25 gift card to come back. My friend, Laura and I decided to have lunch last Saturday. We could not decide on where to go. We settled on Cowboy Jack’s, only cause I had the gift card. I also had to tell Laura how to get there and she still managed to get lost. Cowboy Jack’s is sorta hidden, but don’t get me wrong– a hidden gem it’s not. I got there and asked for a booth. The hostess brought me over to a dirty booth. She did apologize for the crumbs. As she cleaned up the dirty booth, I excused myself so I could go get popcorn. Yum! When I got back to the booth, I noticed the crumbs were off the table but now on the seats. Maybe she thinks crumbs only bother me when they’re just on the table? I brushed them off but was still annoyed. As I sat and waited for Laura, my waitress finally showed up. Is that Pink the pop princess I thought? No, it can’t be Pink. Isn’t she on tour? Is she working here part time? Then I realized it’s just someone who thinks she is Pink or just wants to be her? Anyway, she’s prettier than Pink– I’ll give her that. Laura is still lost. Pink came back with my Pepsi as I was still looking over the menu. I was still waiting on Laura and Pink walked by a few times. I know for a fact that she noticed I needed a refill, but she didn’t bring me one. My guess is she wanted to wait until Laura arrived so she could kill two birds with one stone? When my glass is empty it means I need it refilled, now. Not when my friend arrives. What if Laura was extra extra late? Does that still mean no refill until the other guest arrives? Laura finally shows up. It looks like she got my text message as well– I asked her to grab popcorn on her way in. I asked her if she wanted to share an appetizer and maybe try the mac and cheese pizza. Laura obliged. The m&c pizza said it had noodles, cheese and bits of jalepeno brats. We put an order in for the queso with chips and the m&c pizza. Laura also agreed that the waitress wanted to be Pink. The queso was okay and still warm. The tortilla chips that came with it were different colors and fun to look at. They also tasted very over salted. That’s one of my pet peeves– okay tasting dip accompanied with salt. Pass the water please! Finally, Pink comes back to the table with the pizza. It looks nothing like I imagined. When I read the description, I pictured actual macaroni noodles. What we got was a super thin cracker crust with TONS of cheese, bits of brats here and there, and a tiny handful of rotini noodles. This is just a greasy cheese pizza I thought. Where are the macaroni noodles? Even CiCi’s mac and cheese pizza is better than this garbage. This wasn’t even pizza according to the cracker thin crust. They should list this item under their flatbreads. «Thanks for coming to eat cheese for lunch with me.» I told Laura. We did have leftovers. I told Laura she could take it home. On Monday she told me she ended up throwing it away. I don’t blame her. Another disappointment. Now I know better. While I appreciate the gift card and the invitation back, save your money and go elsewhere. This is one rodeo you don’t want to be at.

Jack’s is not for everybody. That said, there’s a reason you can’t find a parking spot at 5pm on weekdays. Their happy hour is awesome. $ 2 cocktails and $ 2 pints(not all the taps are $ 2, but Summit EPA is, and most beer snobs will at least drink that). Most of the appetizers are ½ off, and they have other food specials too, like the oh-so-popular burger night on Wednesday — $ 2 gets you a burger and a bun — .50 cents per each additional topping. If that’s too rich for your blood, they have free popcorn and peanuts. Oh and, just so you are aware, the staff is young and pretty. If your gal is having a bad self-esteem day(or month, or life), this might not be the best venue for a romantic dinner.
