Wonderful food… good service… smiling waitress… All add up to a wonderful meal .I was amazed at the amount of choices anytime of the day to pick from.

I have never heard of a restaurant being out of milk but this one was and it was 11 am. Poor management and a bad Manager who was too lazy to drive to a super market and pick up a few gallons until their delivery. No milk. No shakes.

I was staying at the hotel across the street on an overnight business trip. I was on a tight schedule so plus I didn’t have a car so I didn’t have much choice other than this Denny’s for lunch and dinner. The service was horrible. It took quite awhile to be seated even though it wasn’t busy. Took a long time for a waiter to ask for my order. It took even longer to get food. I waited 30 mins for an omelette. I couldn’t get my drink refilled. I had to ask another waitress to get my check and then when I went to the front, I had to wait for someone to come up to the desk so I could pay my bill. I was tempted to just walk out the front door. I know I’m not going to get gourmet dining at a Denny’s so I don’t think it’s too much to expect it to be at least somewhat quick. When I go to a diner, I usually tip extra because I know the total meal price isn’t as much as it would be at another restaurant but I couldn’t bring myself to do it here. Future travelers beware. If you don’t have time to spare, you’re better off going somewhere else.

Used to be good place . Was there with few friends for late night food. Dirty all over the place. There was dirt everywhere and even menus were dirty. Plates unclean, coffee mugs had stains. Slow service. Understaffed. Food quality went down. Prices going up . So I am done with Denny’s.

Let me tell you that this 1 star review is based solely on the general manager of this location, Patricio. The service was excellent and the food was some of the better food I’ve had at Denny’s. Were it not for the jackarse manager, this would have been a solid 3 star review. I came with a group of friends after seeing a movie, and we were seated immediately, and our server was lovely, friendly and got our orders out to us in a scoch under 15 minutes, which was impressive considering that we had 8 people in our group who ordered a large amount of food. All was cheery and bright until we went to pay. I had turned 25 a week and a half earlier, and I explained to the waitress that I was part of Denny’s email club, and, per the corporate website, they will honor a free ‘Grand Slam’ breakfast the month of your birthday. The waitress told me ‘Yes, I know about that, and I’ll have them take it off at the register.‘ When I go to pay, I see the Grand Slam is still on the ticket. I ask the manager about the offer, and the manager looks at me with a surly look and says ‘No, I’m sorry, we can’t honor that. It’s only on your actual birthday.‘ I pointed out to him that on the corporate website that it states that they honor it for the month of the club member’s birthday, and he snapped ‘Well, we’re a franchise, not a corporate location. I paid for my food, looked him right in the eye and said ‘Merry Christmas, Scrooge’ and left. Come on, dude, it was freakin’ Christmas, and you couldn’t find it in your heart to comp me a measly $ 6.99 meal, despite corporate policy? You’re a complete and total jerk. As the saying goes, ‘Those who aren’t competent enough to actually work, go into management.‘ If how he treated me is an indication of how he runs this location, it’s no wonder it is rated so poorly. I feel bad for the waitresses and kitchen staff that have to work for this Grinch.

The waitress was very nice and courteous, interacted a lot with us. The food was delicious, I got the french toast meal, forgot what it was actually called. The french toast had a ton of flavor and a hint of cinnamon taste to it. The bacon and sausage were cooked just right. The sausage was juicy and tender, I loved it.

We took our son to MSP for a 5:55 flight back to CA. Since it was early we stopped at Denny’s for an early breakfast. I ordered the standard grand slam. Two eggs over medium, four bacon, and two cakes plus coffee. So what came to the table was 2 eggs over hard with crispy edges, 2 bacon 2 sausages and tepid(at best) coffee. I ask for a redo of the eggs. What came back were two eggs over easy. Runny whites and yolk. Is over medium that hard to make? The coffee was tepid. Ask for hot coffee and got an surly response. The waiter finally brought a new cup, same coffee, tepid. No more Dennys.

Considering the place was almost completely empty, it took waaaaay too long to take my order. Once placed though it came out quickly. My water came in the tiniest glass ever and was never refilled.

Our food and service was fine but halfway through our meal the manager was criticizing a customers order very loudly to the kitchen staff. He requested double ingredients of his meal — to which she proudly declared she was sure to charge him for. Not sure what was wrong with the customer requesting his meal the way he wanted it, but he is the customer. He should get it the way he wants it. I shouldn’t have to listen to her tirade of another customer. Customers apparently are not welcome here. Find somewhere else to go– where you are appreciated and your business is welcomed.

My five-year-old daughter and I walked into the ladies room yesterday to find a male employee sitting on the toilet with the stall door open. He wasn’t cleaning(like the manager tried to tell me). He was SITTINGONTHETOILET. I didn’t dare get close enough to determine if his pants were down. My daughter and I just got out. The employee didn’t apologize or say that he was cleaning. No signage was out indicating the bathroom was being cleaned. The outer door wasn’t open. It was creepy and uncomfortable, to say the least. It was like he was either A) waiting for someone to walk in or B) he was hoping he wouldn’t be caught. It was completely inappropriate and my family will not be returning as long as this man is employed there.

I’m in school and know some restaurants welcome«campers» other discourage them. With need for an all-nighter, I called ahead to make sure it was alright and they have wi-fi. No problem. I show up, get seated, order some food and ask if I’ll need to close out soon or if I can just close out in the morning. The guy who seats me says no problem and puts in my order. The guy who brings me my food insists I close out the check with him fifteen minutes later. Then I got the Asian guy mentioned in other reviews. I found him attentive and kind. I’d planned to hop on here and defend him until I went to check out. I pointed out that he’d charged me for my drink and I’d already paid for it before. He says«well you can only have four re-fills.» «I say, I’ve only had three.» He says«the manager will watch the cameras, see you were here all night and I’ll get in trouble.» I say«I want to talk to a manager, because if that’s true you shouldn’t have to put up with it and if it’s not true you shouldn’t get away with lying to me.» He says«fine, I took it off.» I demand a manager and am told there isn’t one, call after 8am. My receipt prints and it’s a survey. He tears off the survey and hands me the rest. I say to him«I’ll take the survey thank you. You know I’m unhappy, why would you even try anything?» He hands me my survey and I left. I usually tip well, I don’t know if he thought scamming me out of a few dollars would run up his tip based on a larger check, but whatever it was, he lied to me, and I don’t give my money to people I can’t trust. I wish the Denny’s at 815 E 78th St. had wi-fi. They rock. I’ve only had one issue there and they were so serious about making sure I was happy, I’d never hesitate to go back. Same name, same town, such different restaurants.
