This restaurant has closed. A new Mexican restaurant, 3 Amigos, has opened in the same location. I do not know if there is any overlap in ownership or staff. The last time I was there it was the same, tired American quasi Mexican fare. I am still looking for a real, authentic, preferably Pueblo centered Mexican restaurant. Diana Kennedy, we NEED you!

Great little Mexican place. Food is VERY good. Service a little slow and they need to fix or upgrade their sic conditioning. Definitely recommend.

While this place is not the most authentic in the area(personally, I’d give that award to El Norteno), it’s more authentic than most of the area alternatives. It’s one of our two favorite Mexican restaurants in the Bloomington area. The salsa is delicious, the entrees are consistently good, and the staff is always pleasant.

Back in my graduate school years in Bloomington – and there were far too many of them – my dear friends and I would go here for Mexican food. It had everything: awesomely tacky décor, fast and friendly service, and most importantly cheese dip. We considered cheese dip from Nuestro Mexico to be manna from heaven. Back in the day, we never called the restaurant«Nuestro Mexico,» though; we knew it as «Ellettsville Mexican.» In fact, when we were all in B-ton for a wedding this past weekend, my friend Dennis had no idea what we were talking about when we discussed going to Nuestro Mexico. The nine or so of us had to go there, though, before we again scattered throughout the country. so we went there Sunday for lunch. I pulled up to the restaurant, conveniently located in «Jack’s Defeat Creek – A Mall of Distinction,» and noticed that it has been painted a rather loud orange. As we walked in to get a table, I noticed that other rooms had also been painted in nearly fluorescent colors but that some(thankfully not all) of the paintings had been taken down. Of course we ordered five bowls of cheese dip for our party of nine. I wasn’t kidding when I said that we love the cheese dip. We also ordered various entrees, and every single one of them was delicious. Quesadillas, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas – each tex-mex item just as delicious as they were when we were toiling away in graduate school. What a perfect ending to a wonderful weekend. And no, Ellettsville Mexican doesn’t serve liquor. Don’t let that deter you boozehounds, though: it keeps prices as low as they are(I don’t think those have changed since grad school either), and you can go out drinking after your meal. Thanks for the memories and the deliciousness, Ellettsville Mexican!

Our favorite Ellettsville spot! Great chips and salsa. Friendly and funny staff. Have liked every item I have ever ordered and trust me, we’ve been going here for years so I have tried a lot of different items. Oh– and u can’t beat the price!

For an Ellettsville based Restuarant, surprisingly decent. The staff are very polite and take time to remember you. When I am being lazy and don’t want to run into Bloomington or drive to Indy, this is my favorite go-to staple, they get an extra star for cleanliness.
