Outback Steakhouse

Service was terrible. Our server Michelle B, brought my girlfriend out the wrong drink. No big deal, I’ve worked in restaurants, these things happen. The problem was when we had it sent back (by the guy who ran out food out, cause Michelle was already ignoring us) Michelle then thought it would be a good idea to come to or table and argue with us about the drink. She had really snobby attitude telling us it was the right drink and we were wrong. This is my girlfriend favorite drink and the only one she ever orders here, so she knows what she’s taking about. We even showed her a picture in the menu of what she brought out to us, and what we ordered. Still didn’t phase Michelle. Nothing could convince her she was wrong. Finally the bartender brings out the correct drink, but Michelle still charged us for the first drink.
We used to love coming here, but we’ll never be back.

My first experience here was awesome! They give you all the bread you want, they have really awesome food selections and our server was great. They portions were nice too. I needed a box and it was my lunch the next day. Definitely go if you are starving because you will be full.

Bread wasn’t hot, Steak was a little over cooked (ordered medrare-​med, came out medwell) but it had good flavor. Overall service was good. The chicken cobb salads crispy chicken tasted just like Wendy’s chicken, twas the damnest thing…

Don’t bother coming here. Ordered 4 steaks with soup/​salad and we waited a half hour for the soup/​salads to come out and then literally minutes after. Ordered 2 steaks medium-​medium well, 2 steaks medium well. The medium-​medium well ones came out rare, one medium well one came out well, and the other one actually came out right. The poor waitress was all over the place and they were understaffed. The manager was not very accommodating in fixing the order besides offering to cook the steaks more or cooking a new one for the one that turned out well but I wasn’t going to wait another half hour for a steak. He did comp those meals, but we were definitely not the only table that had issues with steak temps. At least 4 – 5 other tables had to send steaks back too.

We are frequent flyers at Outback and today was a definite disappointment. I as usual ordered the 8oz top sirloin with garlic mashed potatoes and Aussie fries. The steak was cooked perfectly, but my potatoes and fries were cold. I sent them back and when they came back to the table the potatoes were soupy and fries were tough which leads me to believe that they just put it in the Microwave. My husband ordered the coconut shrimp and for a side had the kids Mac n cheese, it was hot in the center but cold on top. Our server was slow and inattentive. So needless to say it will be a while before we step back into the Bloomington IL Outback location.

First off, I have eaten at Outback for more than 20 years and usually rather enjoy the consistency of the food I receive. About 2 weeks ago, I had the worst experience in Bloomington IL out of all the Outbacks I have visited. Bread was cold and stale — Salad was a little discolored and off — Chicken Tenders and Fries were incredibly salty and came out in disarray. My chopped steak came out sitting on a few onions and mushrooms. They forgot the garlic potatoes and had to ask. About cracked my tooth on hard gravel pieces in the garlic potatoes. Bloom Sauce was extremely salty. No ketchup at the table. Any presentation of the food was lacking. New Owner came to the table and took half off the bill. I have told my fiancé there had to be new management. Beware eating here till they figure out how to do it the way Outback normally does it.

Ive eaten inside and I utilize the curbside take-​away fairly often as well. The customer service has always been outstanding and the food is almost always great as well. Sometimes the wait is long inside, but that is because lots of people come here. The curbside is always fast and usually on time.

Saturday night and very busy. 80 minute wait but we called ahead for our party of 8 for a 25 minute wait. Staff was very nice but the food was dreadful. My son’s burger from the children’s menu was over cooked (black and dry). The bun was so hard on the edges I couldn’t break it off. My ribeye could be best described as a «steak patty» which at best was ¼″ thick (over $ 20) Salad and mashed potatoes were good. Soda was flat but the server did try to find a soda dispenser that worked. Left not to ever return and disappointed enough to post this review.

First off, I would like to state that I had never been to Outback Steakhouse. I had seen numerous commercials on TV, and they make the food look so good. After moving to an area that actually had an Outback, I decided to finally give it a try when I had guests visiting.
I called ahead to reserve a time, since they do not take reservations at all. That was fine and no problems with that process. Arrived at the restaurant and waited a minor 25 minutes, not a big deal when people were being told upwards of two hours.
We finally got seated, got our waitress and ordered drinks. I ordered a Coke and it was flat, there was next to no carbonation it. It was like drinking syrup water with caramel coloring.
I ordered the Prime Rib Dipped Sandwich, it came out looking fine. It took a little long to be delivered to our table, the restaurant was busy this evening. But needless to say my food was cold all the way throughout the meal, my au ju dipping sauce was ice cold. The only thing that was great we’re my «Aussie Fries». Other than that the food was horrible, I will never return to this location, nor a different one.

If i could score a 10 for this place i would! I was hungry for a good meal because i hadnt eaten all day and i wanted a man sized plate of food. It has been years since i had been in the doors and that wont happen again because its going to be a monthly thing now. The manager seated us then the waitress gave great advice on the menu items. I ordered the prime rib which was cooked perfectly to my liking and also seasoned very well with just the right amount of fat for flavor. It come with au jus on the side and horseradish by request. The french fries were crunchy and my french onion soup was to die for. My mom had the chicken breast which was very tender and juicy and it came with all you can eat shrimp (scampi or fried). The waitress came around many times to fill our drinks and ask us if we needed more shrimp. Who doesnt like prompt service and when a manager not only seats you but comes around and asks about your meal, it shows they want your business. This really impressed me. They even open the doors for you… they really do cater to your every need. I highly recommend the outback adventure!

Outback has many good entrees, but what I wanted to talk about was their hamburgers. Hamburgers are not very hard to cook but it seems like most restaurants in Blooming, IL cannot cook a burger to save their lives. Outback is the only restaurant in Bloomington/​Normal that has actually served me a medium rare hamburger.

Just awful all around, I would rather have Morgan Freeman talk me through masturbation than to ever go there again.

Had not ate at an Outback in around 5 years or more and was pleasantly surprised. I had the Victoria Filet and lobster and steak was wood fired grilled just how I asked for it. Was surprised by how tender it was especially from a chain. Wife had Mahi with grille veggies and liked it as well.

I remember coming here many, many years ago and being horrified, to the point where I hadn’t gone back in six years.
And then one weeknight I donated my first pint of blood, and we felt like going out to a steak dinner, and I was pleasantly surprised. My food was cooked to temp, it was delicious, and service was absolutely fantastic. So good that we sent our compliments to the manager, who then commented that our server had worked there before, then left for another place, then came back, and that they were very happy to have her back.
A good solid choice.

Never get tired of this place and never had a meal that I even remotely disliked. Outback reigns supreme!

We were looking for a consistent, satisfactory dinner, and we got it.
The blooming onion was delightful, as always.
They didn’t seem to be all that busy, but after the waitress and manager couldn’t make my Visa gift card work (although I found out later they were able to take ALL of the value from it, just not to apply it to my bill…), they then wouldn’t come back to the table to get my cash and make change.
We were just passing through, and the meal kept us alive another night. Thanks, I guess.

Chef tends to overlook the steaks and even the fish. There are better steakhouses in town than this place. Not awful, but just average.

Like the staff, like the menu, but how on earth could we order two slightly different steaks cooked the exact same way and get two completely different levels of ‘doneness’ — one perfectly executed and the other needing clearly needing additional incubation? Wow.

A successful evening out with the neighbors!
On a rare night when the five of us were not working/​under heaps of homework, we ventured out for a delicous steak dinner and happily we were not disappointed.
Our waiter was friendly and funny. It was an empty Monday night, so he got to the table quickly and got our orders in pronto.
A few highlights:
–All the steaks ordered that evening were cooked perfectly, always nice.
–There are grape tomatoes on EVERYTHING, appetizers, salads, entrees. Jesus, I can only imagine if we’d gotten dessert… Hope you’re not allergic.
–For five people, meals, apps and drinks, $ 140 with tip, decent prices can win me over anytime.
Final note: Thanks to our waiter for not treating us like a table of kids. We are young, but we like respect, and as a former waitress, I tip like a satisfied patron, not a broke student.
