Really really good. Nice log cabin feel inside. Their bread and garlic butter is soo good! We had the aged prime rib which was very good! Decent price. Good service. Nice waiters! Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Great service. Wine list wasn’t very good. Best aged prime rib and baked potato. Great clam chowder. Bread and butter was great. The butter was garlicky and had Parmesan cheese! Very good! Good ambience

A few months ago, we tried this place for lunch and discovered what were the best cheese curds I’d ever had. The last few visits, the curds have been hollow. A friend tells me that happen when the oil isn’t hot enough — they take too long to cook and the cheese oozes out. Today they had a new menu, so we each tried something new. I tried the BLTE — a BLT with avocado and an egg. It arrived on dry(no butter, nothing) white toast, two pieces of bacon, a pink tomato and an overcooked egg, with a solid yolk and some greasy fries(oil still not hot enough I guess). The waitress is sweet, but the food is awful. My 1⁄3 of our cheese curds, a $ 3 diet coke and my flavorless, dry sandwich; $ 21.50. seriously? I could eat at Ciao Bella for that. nice while it lasted, but never again.

Sandwich and soup, no drink only water. No water refill. Only 2 other tables. $ 20!!! For a sandwich and soup!!! I will never return!

Have been coming here for almost two decades but this 5 star rating is based on today’s food and service only. The hostess up to the waitress was amazing. Our waitress Cassie M.(from what it says on our receipt) was outstanding. I ordered the Lena and my wife ordered Babe’s Burger. My prime rib was delicious(cooked medium rare) and the horseradish had a great kick to it. Every time my wife tried it, her eyes would water which I found funny. I did have the french onion soup also and that was really good. It wasn’t super salty like other places and it was worth it. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her burger so much that after every other bite, she kept on telling me how delicious, flavorful and good this burger was. She’s been on a burger binge lately eating burgers from tavern 4&5, redstones, wildfire, etc. For her to say this burger was as good as it was compared to those other places says a lot. Her burger was cooked a perfect medium. For her to be able to taste the salt flavor and to have flavor on the burger is a big deal. To my surprise, she finished it even though I told her to take the other half home. The place was very comfortable. Not too cold, not too hot. It was a pleasant evening with my wife.

I live in Northwest Indiana, and I come up to the Twin Cities area a few times a year for some R&R. Every time I’m there, I never fail to come to Timberlodge. I’ve been dining at Timberlodge restaurants since I was 6 years old. The food is excellent, as is the service. Their buffalo wings(and buffalo chicken sandwiches) are superb. The bread and butter alone would make a great meal. I love the freshly brewed root beer. Oh, and the cheesecake… Definitely the place to go.

Tuesday nights are family nights and we take my Down’s brother out to dinner. The West Bloomington area is the most convenient for us and I really wish there were more suitable choices with great food. Timber Lodge is not it. We arrived about 5:30pm and were promptly greeted and seated. Our server took our beverage orders right away. The staff was all very efficient and friendly. If you arrive before 6pm there have early bird dinners that offer either a reduced price or a smaller promotional size. The special was stuffed shrimp and it didn’t sound very good when our waiter mentioned it had a light cheese sauce to counteract the dryness of the shrimp. We should have ran then. For $ 3.50 you can upgrade your salad to the BLT Wedge. That salad is about ¼ iceberg lettuce head wedge with bacon, tomatoes, red onions, bleu cheese and bleu cheese dressing. Not bad but a lot of lettuce and too much dressing. The potato & cheese soup was awful. Very bland and tasteless with no hint of potato. No hint of cheese except color. The bread and butter they give you was the best thing we ate. Prime Rib — not too bad but not much flavor Parmesan Crusted Walleye — very bad with a damp crust that should have been more crispy and definitely dry. The fish was mushy without any discernible taste. The only flavor was an off-taste from the crust. Mashed potatoes — good but found several X-large, non mashed lumps. Cheesy potatoes — good but with a slight aftertaste. Cheesecake with strawberry topping — fluffy(not a NY Cheesecake) and not very flavorful. It reminded me of the Jell-O instant cheesecake you can beat with a mixer. Not worth the calories. I would have given it 1 star but they were nice to my brother and he loved the cheesy potatoes.

My husband and I decided to give this place a try for lunch last weekend. We sincerely wish we would have saved our time and money and gone elsewhere. First, I have to say that our server was decent. We had to wait a fair amount of time for drinks and for her to bring us our check, but it was OK… We weren’t in a hurry. The cheese curds we ordered were very good! So, we thought that was a good sign that the rest of our food would also be great. We were wrong. I had the worst Reuben sandwich that I have ever had in my entire life. The bread was soggy and it tasted like the dressing on was old. Definitely not the fresh and tasty sandwich I was hoping for. Also, the fries on the side were cold and didn’t seem to have any salt or seasoning on them at all. My husband ordered a burger, which he asked for with no pink. It came out pink in the middle, and he said it was pretty much flavorless. His also came with cold flavorless fries on the side. Prices weren’t horrible, but we could have had much better food for the price elsewhere. I don’t think we will be coming back anytime soon.

Service was good, the steak was not. The steak was $ 28 but it tasted very mediocre in spite of being prepared how we asked it to be prepared. It was not a very good cut of meat and the seasoning was over salted and odd in taste.

I used to love this place. they steak was not cooked to specification AND uneven. the cheesy hashbrowns use to be so much better. Last night they were bland. The service was great but the food makes the resturant.

Great service, great food. Scott, the server, let us sit and enjoy our wine until we were done without making us feel rushed. I appreciate the server not putting the check on the table until after I am finished with the meal. The steaks were cooked perfectly although the broccoli tasted like it was frozen but cooked OK.

I always have a great experience when I come here, it’s been a few years but still good. Our waiter was very nice, always coming to check on us and making sure our glasses stayed full. I had the walleye sandwich which is one of my favorites.

This locations is weirdly placed in a shopping plaza and not a stand alone like i’m used to. It was surprisingly large and apparently the place to dine for the elderly in the area because I don’t know if it was senior night or not but they were just beating down the doors. The waiting area is absolutely wonderful like a little ski lodge with log furniture and a cozy fireplace. They do not have a very large selection of beers here but overall you can get decent food and something to wet your whistle.

We were here for lunch. Service was a bit slow for being only 1 group of 4 in the place. Overall not bad, nothing special The food was hot, the french onion soup could use a kick of flavor. The service was friendly and had a good smile. Cant say anything was bad just not great. Was an A-OK lunch. So solid 3 star. We only had lunch items/sandwiches so may not be a good indication of dinner service or entrees such as full steaks.

Great food here. décor and food will take this place wayy far. I live nearby and will definitely come back again. They have good appetizer. Drink selection is good. The 20oz steak was worth trying. The only reason for not giving a 5 star is service.

After a busy work week, my boss took his team out to lunch for all our hard work. Yay! Hard work really does pay off! Not the case, here, Timber Lodge Steakhouse. We took about three or four cars all together. I did not offer to drive. Is my car a mess? Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t. This work lunch would be my second time at this steakhouse. It still reminds me of a log cabin. Decorated with your typical cabin décor. Bear stands and fishing stuff. Lots of hunter green colored walls. Very cozy, goes nice with this unfortunate weather we’ve been experiencing lately. Two words– Polar Vortex. We were still waiting on two more people to arrive, the work director and the temp. The work director was waiting for the temp to get to work so they could ride together. I guess the temp missed his bus but hopped on the next bus and was almost to work anyways. As we waited, the boss put in an order for two chips and salsa. I didn’t believe it at first. Chips and salsa at a steakhouse? Let’s see what this is all about I quietly thought to myself. The nice server brought out our chips and salsa. By just the looks of it, it reminded me of my old boss who I, well, let’s put it this way– I am not very fond of her. She used to bring in homemade salsa that her fiancé would put together. It was quite popular at our potlucks. The salsa consisted of charred corn, diced tomatoes, and onions. Served with tortilla chips, of course. Tasted very fresh, and was a hit at the table. My only complaint on the salsa would be the presentation. The salsa was served on a plate. It would be easier to eat in a small bowl. Everyone was struggling to scoop salsa onto their chip. There was a spoon that came out with it. My guess is they think you should scoop out your own portion onto your plate and try to enjoy it like that? Or maybe use the spoon to scoop up salsa every time you want another chip. Whatever it is, it would still be best served in a bowl. I know this is a steakhouse and a chain. My first time here I ordered a steak. I remember telling my friend, I wish we had gone to Outback instead. This time, I decided to try out their Northern Lights Chicken. It’s a breaded chicken breast– parmesan breadcrumbs, toasted almonds, and their blend of herbs. It also comes with your choice of soup or salad, and another side. I chose wild rice soup and cheesy hashbrowns. A friend of mine told me she loves their wild rice and cheesy browns. I can’t really say I feel the same. That same friend also said she loves their northern lights chicken breast, too. Maybe I came at the wrong time? I don’t think so, the entire restaurant was pretty much empty. Just us and some senior citizens also having lunch. My chicken breast was really a piece of saxony styled carpet. It was very dry and overcooked. The breading made it look burnt. I thought my lunch was going to be a juicy chicken breast. Instead I got to eat a flat piece of worn down carpet. The kind that shows footprints from high traffic areas. Eww! Did I mention the cheesy hashbrowns tasted like they were from the freezer? I should have ordered mashed potatoes instead. But those were probably out of a box? On to the soup, I like it. It’s good but not the best wild rice I’ve tried. At least it came with crackers. It feels great to be rewarded for working hard. It’s also fun to see your team outside of the work place. While I had a fun time sharing chips and salsa with my work team, I will not be returning to Timber Lodge ever again.

We went here for my birthday and had a great time. Service was friendly and the food was delicious. I liked that it was a fairly casual place to get a decent steak. Sometimes I don’t want to have to be fancy to get good meat. That sounded weird, but I think you get the point. I enjoyed the lodge atmosphere and décor. Again, I’m new to the area, so this is all novel to me. Maybe in a few years I won’t notice the log cabin motif.
