Great entertainment for the whole family! Sifting through buckets, finding all sorts of gems and learning a little (or a lot) along the way. They will even cut what you find and mount it for a necklace or ring, turns out to be a great keepsake and memory. We’ve been going for years, Doc and Trina are awesome. The dinosaurs are a new feature and a ton of fun too.

I’ve been a regular at Doc’s for several years. While I’ve passed other gem mines on my travels (and I LOVE mining and rocks!), I never go anywhere else. It would feel like I’m cheating on Doc’s! Not only are the staff awesome, friendly and helpful, but they’re well-​educated in the world of geology. I’ve learned so much about my rocks from Doc and the staff, which is a huge benefit to shopping there. Not to mention the rocks… OMG the ROCKS!!! I admit I’m a rock nerd. I have hundreds of fossils, minerals, cool rocks… and most of them I purchased at Doc’s because he has by far the best selection of any rock shop I’ve visited in all of the US. If you’re visiting NC or TN, you’ve got to take a trip to Doc’s. If you need a reason to visit, Doc’s is enough of one. You won’t regret it!
