going downhill, compared to my first few stops here. i’ve been by again quite a few times, both for take-out and sit-in meals. and it’s just not impressive anymore. the pannini’s are ok, depending on what kind you get. i’m glad they are using different bread instead of that awful faccatia they started out with. service has become lackluster and boring. the last time i came, i ordered a grilled veggie pannini and added fresh mozzerella, and my cousin ordered the roasted turkey pannini. we each got fried calamari to start. the calamari was ok, but there was more fried bits of flour than actual calamari. half of my plate was leftover fried breading; i had to sift though all of this to find the calamari pieces. my pannini was very good, but came out with no cheese. i told the waitress, and she brought me out a plate of cheese, but not the fresh mozzerella i ordered– it was the deli slice mozzerella. maybe i wasn’t specific enough? i thought most good italian delis use fresh mozzerlla more often… we each got half of our orders wrapped to take home, but when the waitress gave us the bags, she mixed up our sandwiches and we took the wrong orders home. i ended up eating the roasted turkey, and it was boring and lackluster, just like my experience. lots of turkey, roasted red peppers, and garlic. it had no flavor. except garlic. this place is still fairly new, so i hope they can turn it around. seems to me like they need to pay more attention to the details and to their customers. i’d like to try the pizza, but with the way it’s been going here i don’t think it’s worth it.

Fantastic little place to study before class at Montco. Don’t miss this place, it’s tucked away in the back of the shopping center and the sign doesn’t really pronounce«Authentic Italian» but one taste of the food or conversation with the owner and you’ll see how great this place is. They have a fantastic collection of –real– Italian food and it’s also a wonderful deli. They have great breads and desserts too. Stop in and give this place a try, I’m afraid it gets passed over due to the location and what it looks like on the outside.

We stopped by for take out last week and had: Manzo Panini– Roasted beef, asiago and mushroom. This was delicious and HUGE! Only negative was there was also broccoli rabe on the sandwich which was not listed on the online menu so it made my order of a side of it pretty redundant. Personal Abbruzzese Pizza– fresh ricotta, fresh tomato and basil This was more doughy and soft style while I prefer a thinner crisp style, toppings and sauce was very tasty regardless. Eggplant Rolls– Roasted eggplant stuffed with cheese and prosciutto This was the star of the show, 3 rolls for $ 4 in an amazing sauce. I sopped every last drop of the sauce up with my panini, couldn’t get enough of it! $ 20 got us plenty of food for 2, would rate this a solid 3.5 stars if I could.

This just opened and is literally across the street so I was eager to try it. They have everything from cheeses to entrees to pizzas. The Margherita was light and flavorful — the crust was crispy and not too doughy, which I really liked. The slow-roasted pork belly was okay but not spectacular. To be honest, I liked it better in the porchetta panini with provolone and eggplant. Give it a try! The prices are great: $ 6 for sandwiches, $ 9 – 10 for entrees, and $ 7 for a personal pizza. They also serve mezzaroma coffee, which is delicious all by itself without any additives. All in all, a good neighborhood café.
