Ohhh how I love Sklar! Well atleast I used to. Amazing furniture pieces with a hefty price tag. But you pay for the quality and I was fine with that.
We ordered a dining room table, the sales associate was great, everything was great. The only problem is we were suppose to get our shipment April/May. They communicated to us there was a big strike in California etc and they can not deliver us our table until middle of June. Guess what? It’s August 1 today and we are still waiting on our table. It’s expected to come in a week. They have apologized but seriously, I expected more from Sklar. I’m not sure I’m going to be buying other things from them in the future. This experience has not been executed efficiently. I love their furniture style but I do not have patience for the shipment process. Good luck to others who want to order from them and my advice is to make sure you know when you will get delivery.

Maybe this review should be focused on American Leather, the company that actually made our sofa. Linnea, on behalf of Sklar, reached out to me and handled everything with exemplary customer service.
The fella that came to my place was armed with needle and thread and sewed up the tear in the seams. We easily could have done this…
Bottom line, for the amount of money we paid, this shouldn’t have happened in the first place. I still feel like a sucker.

We bought dining chairs from Sklar, they were good looking and seemed to be priced well. We believed we were buying high end leather furniture (as the invoice read), however within 8 months the back of the chairs started ripping, and what we thought was leather we found was a treated cardboard like material. When we called back to ask them what they had sold us, the lady had said «what did you expect for what you paid?» — WOW. In shock, I said «but even the invoice stated these were leather chairs», and she hung up on me. BUYER BEWARE, THIS HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE SITUATION FOR US. NOT ONLY WERE WE RIPPED OFF, BUT WE WERE TREATED HORRIBLY.

What a breath of fresh air!
I love, love, LOVE me some contemporary furnishings. Sleek, low to the ground entertainment units? Yes, please. Platform beds with quirky duvet covers in fun colors? Yep. Glass art sculptures and artsy retro lighting fixtures and vintage occasional chairs? You Betcha!
I grew up in homes furnished with the likes of Sklar’s stock. (We even saw some non-name brand knockoffs of chairs that were in my best friend’s living room.) This is TOTALLY my style. I even found my future sectional sofa here, for a (okay, not really but I really want it) semi-reasonable price. And it was some GORGEOUS black leather.
The service was impressive, too. The saleslady made herself known and available, but was not pushy, and was helpful and chatty even when we made it clear we weren’t buying that day. (And was very indulgent of me snapping photos of random stuff.)
We will definitely be back for that sofa when we upgrade our living room. No matter what my hubby says!

Walking into Sklar is like walking onto a set of a Michael Mann film. It’s like Ikea for rich people (or upper middle class). I’m lower middle class so Ikea is definitely more my budget but if I ever win the lottery I’m coming here for all of our home furnishings. The prices are not too unreasonable IF you have the money to spend. $ 5000 for a table? More than I could afford but not too much if you’re say Daddy Warbucks. Everything is very art nouveau with exotic glass sculptures, couches, tables, chairs, and chandeliers.
It’s fun just to wander the showroom and look at all of the interesting and exotic designs. The sales people are very friendly and helpful and not pushy at all. I’m a fan of this place even if I’m just here doing window shopping.

Good place for modern furniture but I’m sorry to say the quality of their most recent designs have gone downhill. Still, if you are willing to pay, there are some decent pieces of furniture in the store and the staff is super helpful.
