Great place for the $. Stopped there on a 24 day road trip and LOVED it. Jim and Lana are the managers and we talked to them for hours.(Jim loves Ken Follett and so do I.)Jim says they have had bad Unilocal. If you are of the snooty Silicon Valley enlightenment generation, DON’T COMEHERE! Leave it for those of us who enjoy meeting new people and making breakfast in a common kitchen.

What hotel doesn’t provide soap and shampoo? When we called the manager to ask for some, he did not pick up. It’s 10pm on a Saturday, so not especially late. Hopefully he’ll call back soon and straighten this out so I can revise my review.

With the exception of the location & complimentary breakfast this place needs a makeover. The carpet was buckled at the entrance to the room. The bathroom walls were dirty and the towels or thin with holes. There were several spots on the ceiling that look like they need to be patched and painted. The worst part was the bed. neither of us could sleep because it was too soft and The springs were shot. We will not stay again for what it costs.

This place is pretty unique. The guy at the front desk was pretty awesome, showed us around and even let us see multiple rooms and choose whichever one we would like. For the price it is not bad what so ever. Other motels in the area were asking $ 149+ so this was a deal. The best part though, they have a community living room type area with coffee, tea, wine glasses, DVDs etc. all for you to use as you please. Never seen that before. Our bed in room #1 was comfortable and we had a great stay overall. Kudos to the check in guy again, he was awesome.

Affordable, for which you may find the details fitting. While the room was convenient and check in was prompt and pleasant, the stench from the toilet in our room was subway grade nasty, and the mattress was lumpy(or sloping, depending on where and how you’re lying on it). The shower is choose your own adventure: mild pressure or hot water. Finally, not sure there are bay views from any of the rooms, if you’re looking for that touch.

My daughter and I decided to bike down hwy 1 in a bit of a downpour. We arrived quite bedraggled, dripping and dirty. The managers Lana and Jim were terrific. They were kind and welcoming. Went beyond nice in drying our clothes and giving us a lift to and from town for groceries. The accommodations are exceptional. Every room is different, spacious, clean and inviting. They have a common kitchen with complimentary coffee, tea, popcorn and DVDs. If you have to get stuck in the rain, this is the place to be! The owner, Ted, was also quite helpful with directions and the loan of two umbrellas !

Excellent customer service. Manager was very informative and friendly. Loved the hotel and the amenities provided. Looks as though the rooms were recently updated. Had a well maintained common area for meals which was equipped with a fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee, eating utensils, even popcorn. Wish we could stay another night. We will definitely come back and will highly recommend this great place to our friends.

So stayed here for the first time. We come to Bodega all the time. Usually stay in a rental house but decided to try something different and a little less expensive. Pros– The staff was very friendly, helpful and informative. Room was clean and spacious. Patio was nice and warm. Bed was more comfortable than others I’ve slept on. Location is close to the little gift shops and beach access. Plenty of parking. Cons– Building really needs some updates. Touch ups on paint, carpet is kinda yucky, doors were hard to open/close and lock. It is very loud. You can hear everyone coming up and down the stairs. You can hear the conversations on the rooms next to you. There’s were ants in our room and lots of spiders. Yuck. There is literally no view. The location is in the back of the office in a large lot. Your view is either w large field of dead bushes, of the back of the office and camper which I’m assuming is the owner or host. All in all, I probably wouldn’t stay here again if I find other options. But if I couldn’t find anywhere else to stay for one night I would come here again.

We were lucky to get a room so we paid the high price. Nothing special, no view of the water but we did have a really nice balcony to enjoy our coffee in the morning. We stayed in #6 which was perfect for us because you can park around the back and enter through the back kitchen area right next to our room. You can make fresh coffee in the morning & sit there in the sun room. Our bed was king size but I noticed the linens were rough and felt sandy. Other than that, the place is clean and somewhat dated but there is free wifi and a nice big television on the wall in front of the bed. No shampoo or anything like that so don’t forget your toiletries if you stay here! We forgot our bar of soap and low and behold, there was nothing but a crappy little round bar for washing your hands that didn’t even feel like soap. I didn’t even take a shower and I NEVER do that! I waited until we got home. The prices are too high here but if you’re in a pinch like we were, it’s an okay place.

Very quiet and relaxing. Rooms are clean and despite being right next to the front door/lobby area, noise was not a problem. Hummingbirds flitted about the the flowers out front. The resident manager gave us a choice between two rooms(the one we booked and one with a deck that she thought we might prefer) which was incredibly generous. Coffee and pastries across the parking lot, along with the terrapin creek café — which you MUST have dinner at while staying here. I would definitely return for a stay.

Booked this room for the same price as the Motel 6 in Napa and it was convenient enough to help my boyfriend do some work at a winery and for me to see a client in the area the next day. When I booked through Priceline, I saw it had a 1 star rating but we needed an inexpensive place to stay for the night so we didn’t care what a bunch of jerks on Priceline said. Needless to say, we were more than pleased when we arrived and were greeted by John, who was super friendly and promptly showed us to our fantastic room which was upgraded due to a Priceline booking error(woo hoo!) The room was clean with the vaulted ceilings and sky lights. The huge, super, comfy bed, nice linens, and hot shower, were awesome after a long hot day of work. We booked a reservation at The Terrapin for dinner because it was right next door and didn’t want to do anymore driving. All I can say is WOW! Guillome was our server, he had a fantastic personality, great sense of humor and the food was amazing, best duck EVER! I almost want people to think this is a 1 star inn so it will be easy to get reservations in the future… LOL. But seriously though, if you are a considerate, decent human being and not some uptight, rude, snob, you will appreciate the incredible value, and uniqueness of the Bodega Bay Inn. Far more enjoyable than any 5 star hotel I have even stayed in and I give it 4 stars.

I booked this room last minute in a Friday night for Saturday check inn, my sister became ill so I tried to cancel but was told there is a 72 hour cancelation fee so we decided to stay. The room had an odor , the carpet was stained, the DVD player didn’t work, Handycap accessible door was hinged shut, drunk guests woke us up at 3 am. The bathroom was nasty. I would rather sleep in my car. However John the night fella was very nice and tried to fix the tv.

The bed was the best! Down comforter, down pillow, and great mattress. We stayed in a lower unit so we didn’t have to use stairs, and those rooms are quite small and limited in amenities like no refrig or coffee maker but everything you need is in their sunny kitchen/morning room. We got a good price in the middle of august and the weather was wonderful. we’ll be back…

This was not what we expected for a $ 239.00 a night! If we had paid $ 100 maybe! The people were very nice! It really needs some TLC! From the grounds to the plumbing that moved from wall to the curtain rod that fell missing my head nothing on the ends to hold it on! Oh well live and learn!

This place is terrible. It is outdated, it stinks, the carpets are so dirty and stiff. It looks nothing like it does in the pictures on the website. Everything was dirty, old and stained. My favorite part was my shower in the morning. I started washing my hair and the water went out and was freezing. It came to a slight drizzle, comparable to a leak. I told my boyfriend to not even bother trying to bathe in it. I was furious and will never be coming back.

To be forewarned, this place is more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. It’s right off the main route and the best way to describe it, is it’s intimate and cozy. We stayed in the Monet room, which provided us with a nice sized bed(I think King) and a cot type couch. The television was a bit small for being mounted on the other side of the room and the shower was a little old, but I enjoyed the breezes and the natural light that came into the room. Perfect for a short stay of a few days. The restuarant and coffee shop were right across the street and there is ample parking. Very good customer service. The people were very friendly and showed us the kitchen area which was if you wanted a bit of coffee in the orning, you had a table to sit and there was a back porch. They had a selection of DVDs to choose from if you wanted to watch a movie. A real good old ma and pa type of place.

Not worth the price. We stayed here for one night in January 2015. I would not recommend this place to others. I am a huge fan of quaint and unique but there are some things that are non-negotiable. First this inn is set up more like a large bed and breakfast. We stayed in the large room up on second floor. The one plus was down comforters but the stained sheets kind of spoiled the comfy nature of the bed. The shower did not have a proper shower head so it ended up being a luke warm mist of a shower. The soap they provided did not lather at all so you basically felt like you went through a misty morning dew… not clean at all. If I paid about $ 60 I would not have complained but for $ 174 I would have splurged an extra $ 30 for the Inn up the road.

My boyfriend had spent 2 days on a commercial fishing boat, and when I got there late last Saturday night he was ready for a hot shower and nice bed. Before we took off to travel down the coast for the extended weekend. From the harbor I asked Siri for local hotels and Bodega Bay Inn was the 1st that came up. I called to see if they had any vacancies and the absolutely wonderful, perky office person told me that they had 1 room left due to a cancellation, it was a handicapped room which gave us a larger room, large balcony and private little driveway. The room was cozy and comfey, there is a unique«common room» where there is a fridge and DVD selection that you can borrow. Large Balcony with lounge chairs. There is a restaurant just across the parking lot, and coffee shop just next door. ** I recommend Bodega Bay Inn

The location was great in Bodega Bay but the room was not. I wasn’t expecting a fancy place and that was the case. The grounds were not kept up well. Not sure why people are raving about the dilapidated fire pit. However the person that checked us in was very nice. We stayed in an outer room. I think it was called Under The Tree or something like that. The floor was cement, no carpet. Unfortunately I had to move the nightstand to plug something in and OMG there were dust bears not bunnies. The heater was a joke! The bathroom was somewhat re-done from Home Depot, quality was not job 1. At half the price I would have been happy but not for the price we had to pay.
