Bodega Bay & Beyond Vacation Home Rentals

The most unprofessional company I have ever worked with in my life. They canceled my reservation one day before I was supposed to check in. When I called them they simply told me that they didn’t care that it was unfair. I have family flying in and will now not have a house to rent. Keep in mind that I booked the reservation over a month ago. If I could give no stars I would. The people are so rude and have horrible customer service. They did the exact same thing to a family friend 2 days before her reservation Have never been so disappointed with a company in my life. DONT waste your time and money with this company.

If I could give this company 0 stars I would!!! The day before our rental this weekend they had the audacity to CANCEL our reservation. Out of no where !!! We had family flying down from Oregon and flights were booked, I explained that to them and they had no consideration what’s so ever. My family has rented vacation homes for years and we have never worked with someone so unprofessional!!! I am enraged!!!

I’ve stayed twice now with BB&B Vacation Home Rentals. I feel that their personal service is stellar and the properties are all different accommodating many types of groups or couples needs. I do also think the rental prices are high: when you add in the pet fee, the cleaning fee and the taxes, it’s pricey. However, both times we felt that we got a sufficient value for our dollar.
Most of the property owners have left ample kitchen supplies, tp, etc., so you aren’t fumbling around. However, at the high prices and cleaning costs associated with this rental, I’d like to see the following:
1. Really CLEAN hottub if there is one. (ours wasn’t despite the filer running ALL night).
2. In both rentals they made a big deal about the dogs being off the furniture. Again paying $ 150 per visit for bringing two dogs, I’d think that would easily pay for all of the futon covers, couches and in the last case, the icky white dining chair covers to be completely cleaned. Not getting these finishing touches makes it look tired and over used.
3. Better directions, instead of all the «rules». There is a big binder telling the RULES, but nothing saying how to run the hottub, or etc.

Rented Quail Watch and the view was gorgeous, but we rented this place for the hot tub which didn’t work the first night. They sent someone out the next day to fix it. There is also an ant problem. Then when we went to check out, which is at 11am, I called and asked about returning the keys an hour later and they said that is fine but when we showed back up to get our stuff at 11:05am the cleaning people were already there and stayed and cleaned while we where trying to pack up to leave. It made it a very uncomfortable situation. For that reason alone I don’t know if I would rent again.

We rented a house ‘The Welcome Home’ in Bodega Bay from this company.
The fridge water dispenser had a sign on it not to use it (Luckily we brought bottled water). The couches were so uncomfortable we couldn’t relax in them and worst of all the beds were hard and they squeaked waking us up through the night.
We had a special of buy 2 nights get 1 free and left early, not using all our nights. Upon leaving we called Bodega Bay and Beyond about how unhappy we were and that we were checking out early because we couldn’t relax or get sleep and we were exhausted and unhappy. They thanked us for our input and sent us a coupon for another buy 2 get 1 night. No refund or discounted rate. A thousand bucks down the drain!
It gets worse… when I called a month later to try to plan a relaxing trip again and tried to use the coupon they gave me a bunch of hassle and run around and ended up jacking up the price when they found out I wanted to use the coupon. At this time, I asked for a refund for my previous stay to no avail. They could care less!
This is not a satisfaction guarantee company.
And it makes it worse that you cant contact the owners to let them know this company does not care about the customers or serve their best interest.

General manager Kirtis Johnson is a detailed oriented and pays a lot of attention to make sure the rental units are at their best condition when being markets. I’d recommend this company to anyone who wants a professional company manage their vacation rental in Bodega Bay.

We have used Bodega Bay and Beyond the last two years to rent homes over Christmas. Both times the homes were very comfortable and well equipped for cooking and hanging out. This year, after a wonderful week, we accidentally left several drawers of clothing in one of the dressers. The Bodega Bay staff was very helpful in retrieving our belongings and mailing them to us promptly. We couldn’t have asked for more. We will definitely be using them for our next trip to Bodega Bay!

We rented a house months in advance. They called me three weeks before our upcoming stay and said the house you booked is no longer available as it’s being sold. Three weaker homes were offered and when we called back with our consolation house, they said that home had since been booked. Excuse me? Now, there are 2 left that don’t even meet your criteria. Seriously? Forced us to cancel entire weekend. I’m not going to spend $ 1K on your remaining properties that aren’t the amenities I’m looking for, as if I hadn’t booked this months in advance. Very unfortunate. Nothing offered to us for our trouble. «Out of our control» was the reply. Lots of apologies. What does that get me. Very poor customer service. There are other companies for homeowners and renters to work through.

Just a word of caution – be 110% sure of your travel dates before you book a house with this company and be positive you will not need to change them or you will wind up paying a «service fee» for them to change the dates in their computer (and it’s not a nominal $ 5 fee, either). I have rented from this company for over 10 years (coming out at least once a year) and used to book my next year’s stay as I checked out each year. But, things happen – weddings get announced, week-​long field trips at my kids’ school get scheduled – and I have had to occasionally change dates (generally 6 – 8 months in advance of my stay) and have paid quite a lot in service fees at this point. When this happened again earlier this week (for a stay 7 months away), and I was again charged, I was disappointed the company did not show more loyalty to me (when I have been a loyal customer to them), especially since I book their houses in the winter when all of their rentals are sitting empty. I would understand if I was canceling on a summer or holiday weekend a few weeks in advance, but when I am simply switching dates (for the same house) for a stay in the winter that is still 7 months away, I don’t understand. Next year I will be looking at other options such as VRBO.

The one star is for what we consider very misleading information regarding our rental. Our rental is listed as Pet Friendly, with walking access to the beach. We clearly communicated, when we called to make reservations, that we were renting to take our dog directly from the home for walks on the beach. We arrived and signs indicate that beach does not allow dogs! This was our anniversary and my birthday. We were looking forward to relaxing, enjoying the home and many direct walks from the home to the beach with our dog. We had to search the internet to find beaches allowing dogs. Time spent driving several miles leaving our rental every day was not relaxing or the vacation we clearly discussed with this business.

We had rented Devon house last year July, though the house was not much to look at and the rooms were small, it was full of little treasures and an old world charm. It was not luxurious but i found it very interesting. The best part was sitting at the sofa and watching the waves from the window sipping some coffee. Read a lot of peoples beautiful stories in the folder, walked down to the tide pools across the highway.
I cannot find this house anywhere in the listing at Bodega Bay & Beyond Vacation home rentals, would like some update on this quaint little property if anyone from the vacation rental is reading this

I’m staying at Bodega retreat and the view is beautiful. The house is clean and there is lots of spices in the cupboard and lots of games to play. There’s a bbq outside that we used. There are plenty of chairs outside and inside. We brought our own hotspot wifi but the internet was decent enough that we used theirs. There were two couples and there’s enough room that we didn’t get in each others way.

We recently rented a home called «Shimmering Seas» from Bodega Bay rentals. This home was located overlooking the ocean in a cute neighborhood. The home itself was equipped with everything you could possibly want in your own home. The only thing you need to bring is the food you plan to cook and toiletries as they have pretty everything you need.
Just make sure you follow the directions that the rental property asks you to do before you depart.
Tip: If you do rent this particular home there is a sign that saids” turn off all lights at night or the neighbor will call security” HaHa. He does keep a close eye on the house while you are there for sure. But I highly recommend renting this house!

While I understand this company rents out homes on behalf of the actual homeowners they need to take some responsibility in the upkeep as these homes represent their company.
This review is specifically for the Devon house. Aside from the excellent view, the quality of the accommodations and the complete disrepair of this property likened it to a crack house in «Hood Central.» The view was spectacular however I would’ve opted to stay several blocks away and not see the ocean then to stay in this dump.
My in-​laws celebrated a monumental anniversary and rented a home for themselves and a separate home for my husband and our children. I have attached pictures which are worth a thousand words so there’s no need for me to explain in detail.
I have read some of the so-​called reviews on this company’s website about this particular property and I find them to be very untruthful or perhaps these folks rented the property about 50 years ago. Very sad.
What I failed to take additional pictures of were the pots and pans and other utensils that came with the home to use. I literally had to use towels to handle most of the pots and pans as the handles had fallen off. I have seen pots and pans in better condition at yard sales and thrift stores.
On one particular night we skimmed through the Yellow Pages to see if they were any restaurants close by that would deliver. Much to my dismay I saw a propane delivery receipt with the owner’s full name and home address and telephone number that someone seemingly shoved in there. What a breach of security and privacy for the homeowner by this rental company! Ironically she does not live very far from our home and for a split second it crossed my mind to call her or visit her and tell her what a dump her rental property was that she collects a hefty amount of cash on every single month! But I took the high road and did no such thing.
Don’t rent the Devon house or you will be sorry. Shame on this rental company for even renting out this home! Don’t believe me? Take a look at the pictures I’ve posted and ask yourself if you would spend money to stay in that pit.

Service has gone down hill in the last few years. We have two groups that rent houses in Bodega Bay and have been doing this for the last 16 years, usually (4) times a year. Prompt attention to a problem is key when you are paying for a house. Wasn’t impressed with the service.
On a positive note, some of the houses have been updated, which is appreciated.

This company is an epic 5 star! I just called the company, 5:30pm on a Monday, and told them I forgot to take the trash to the street in front of my home and asked if there is anyone there that I could pay to move the can to the street. Pickup is tomorrow. Megan said she would do it no problem and refused to take any money. Great Service! I also used their cleaning service and it was 5-​STAR as well.

Every year my family rented a house in Bodega bay growing up… Every Year!
So when my little brother decided to get married, we had to throw him a bachelor party. He wanted to go to Bodega with just us boys. My other younger brother called and made the arrangements. We got the Sea Breeze house and fell in love.
Sooo when my other little brother decided to pop the question, it is now time for another bachelor party. I was put in charge of planning this one. I called Nancy and asked if Sea Breeze was available and IT IS!!!
The prices are fair and the contract is clear, cut, and dry.
When my last little brother gets married and if I (God forbid) decide to say yes… as I get asked almost twice a day…
WE WILL RETURN!!! And hopefully to the Sea Breeze house each time.

I own a home managed by Bodega Bay & Beyond (BB&B). I am very pleased with the quality related directions I receive from BB&B as I know this means our mutual guests will be comfortable and feel that they are receiving good value for money. Partly due to excellent housekeeping and maintenance of our home by BB&B we have noted many repeat guests. The owners of BB&B are long time local residents who know how to provide old fashioned, friendly customer service to vacation homeowners and paying guests alike.

Incredible views, some really beautiful houses and the management is super nice!

We all daydream about this place, and I’m not kidding.
My bro and my new sister got married in lovely Bodega Bay over the summer. This new pair of newlyweds are Einsteins in my book because they calculated the perfect abode to spend a week at before and after their awesome wedding: a rental from Bodega Bay & Beyond.
When we arrived to Bodega Bay, we turned into a neighborhood of homes in a golf community. The ocean-​themed villas all looked stunning. When we approached our home for the week, all of our jaws in the deck.
Our rental was HUGE with two bedrooms, an awesomely large living room/​dining room/​kitchen, and a cool deck with a barbecue and a jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was used just about every night. From the deck we had a nice view of Pinnacle Gulch (
). From the other side of the house we had a view of the golf course and the beautiful Pacific and Doran Beach beyond (
).
Economically, we couldn’t complain. Staying here for a week and sharing expenses amongst our group would probably be close to what it would have been to stay at a hotel. But we just had so much more here.
We made so many memories here, and had the best of times. I can’t wait to come crash my bro & new sister’s anniversary here next summer!
