Flagstop Cafe & Exxon

Dirty and it took over 45 minutes to get a burger and fries. I’ll try it again in a year or so, but I’m not the least bit impressed.

OMG… this place I love! I came here when I was in high school. This was a huge hangout for me and my friends. I even had one friend call Flagstop his mommy because we came here all the time to eat.
They have great food. I know this is in a gas station, but the food is really good. I haven’t been there in years since I moved, but when I come to visit my parents, this is the place I have to visit.
I like coming here for breakfast. The office is great, and if you want to cheat… the biscuit and sausages with gravy is sooooo good. You will need a nap after that dish.
Lunch is so good to. I always got a hamburger.
This is a great place. This review really takes me back to a happy time.

I had been wanting to go here for years now and I finally got my chance. It looks a little run down but the food is worth it.
I ordered the Philly cheese steak with onions rings. They had a serving dish with ranch so that I could grab all that I wanted. Which is a plus. The Philly on the other hand could use some attention to detail. The ribeye wasn’t pulled apart and served like a long patty. I don’t think my meal was worth $ 13 considering everything.
I would give this place another try.

This is truly your traditional greasy spoon minus a wait staff. You order from a window adjacent to the kitchen and go find your own place to sit. Be advised that coffee/​drinks are self service but your not exactly advised of that when ordering. Also if you want butter or syrup that is also go hunt and find. Breakfast is served via a rather tough looking woman shouting your number. It’s very home town and rustic. While there was nothing special about the breakfast it also was not bad aside from the cinder block biscuit. I am not sure if there will be a return visit.

Flag stop has the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. None can compare! Stop by and eat. You won’t be disappointed.

Food is fresh and tastes homemade. Me and my friends went for dinner one evening and the food was so good that we decided to go back for breakfast. Everything we got was tasty and they are very generous with the portions.
For dinner, I had fried chicken that was perfectly crisp, not too greasy, and had a great flavor. The mashed potatoes and gravy were to die for. The green beans were bland, but I’ve never had spectacular green beans. My plate was also served with a biscuit that was heavenly. I wanted macaroni and cheese but they told me that is only available during the week.
For breakfast, I had the best omelette I’ve ever had. They took the time to perfectly sauté my veggies before making the omelette so I didn’t bite into raw bits. I honestly can’t remember what my plate came with, but it was all good. We ordered a plate of biscuits and gravy to share which is a MUST.
If you are tired of chain restaurants and have a hankering for comfort food, give it a shot. If you like trendy restaurants with fancy seating and artsy décor, then go to The Rim. I personally prefer the character and charm of Flagstop.

We just ordered two potato bacon and egg tacos, our favorites. As usual they were superb and very large. See attached pictures. Sheila was our waitress and very personable.

Favorite breakfast spot! Highly recommended! The staff is very polite and the food is always consistent! I’ve had a few chances to eat dinner their too. Their fried chicken is my favorite.

Usually come here for the breakfast tacos, which are good and reasonably priced. Today we wanted the Migas. WAY overpriced, very little food. Basically just eggs, nothing mixed in like traditional Migas. When we asked for some fresh chopped serranos we were told we would have to purchase that. $ 10.56 for an egg… ridiculous.
Won’t do THAT again!

Very excellent burgers with or without the bun. Broccoli substituted for fries was great!!! Atmosphere is truck stop-​ish but the staff is friendly and service is fast.

I ordered a double meat cheeseburger which turned out to be a disappointment. The beef patty and seasonings were just OK, but the cheese, bun and toppings were underwhelming. The cheese was some sort of white cheese product, the bun was a white supermarket hamburger bun, and the lettuce and tomato lacked in terms of quality and quantity. Although the fries were good, the quantity was skimpy. Furthermore, they only take cash so you can be sure that they pay very little income tax. Bottom line… Adiós Flagstop and hello Longhorn Café

Five stars based on the Burger I had.
I ordered the Avocado Bacon Cheese Burger and a side of Sweet Potato Fries.
The place was packed so we waited about fifteen minutes for our order. Was it worth it! OMG, probably the prettiest presentation I’ve seen with a burger, it was tall, fresh and literally looked like a photograph. I mean you could see every ingredient on that bad boy! The taste was spectacular and was commensurate with the presentation.
The sweet potato fries were fresh and hot, and salted just right.
For a «truck stop» vibe kind of place the food was off the chain! Thank you !

Okay. Stopped on the road from a road trip started in Orlando Florida. The place is a little run down. The tables needed to be clean. The food was respectable though, prices good and generous portions.

Ask for George! He is the best chef!
«Fresh fast food» (if there was ever such a thing) the baked items are fresh, delicious veggies, fresh meats. We love the chicken tenders, hand cut fries and homemade gravy ! One of my favorites is the BLT with Avocado. They have huge delicious burgers! The best breakfast «tacos» I would call them burritos actually they are so huge. Everything is always hot, crisp and delicious and not made until it’s ordered so expect to wait a few in the drive thru. They also have seating in the restaurant/​gas station. Classic Southern Comfort Soul Food!

I have found when you go inside the food seems better and in better quantity. So I give the inside a 3 star rating. I ordered 10 breakfast tacos to go today at about $ 2 a taco.
I would rate the tacos about the same as a taco cabana taco. 2 stars.
Maybe the egg shortage is causing them to cut back on their eggs. The tacos were very light for a $ 2 taco.

When I get burgers at joint by the highway, I expect the burgers to be more hazardous to my health (in a good, greasy way) than sniffing the petroleum at the adjoining gas station.
Yes. I am disappointed in a burger served at a dive that shares space with a gas station. As long as you give me tasty, artery-​clogging goodness, the joint can be next to a sewage plant for all I care.
But the service was way too long for a made-​to-​order burger when it was not that busy. The people are nice, but the burger patty was overcooked and the fries were uninspiring.
This might have been a better place long ago or it might have better days ahead. However, if you’re in this area, might as well just hit up Whataburger somewhere closeby for half the price.

I love their food!!! Yummmmmmmmm!!! My daughter and I shared the biscuits & gravy and the one egg breakfast meal which came with tortillas, sausage, and hash browns!!! Uhhhhhhh so good!

I love the breakfast tacos here. They make them when you order them so the eggs don’t just sit there. Their green salsa is awesome and seems to also be made fresh daily.
Another plus is their staff is really friendly!

This review will be short and sweet, just like any trip to Flagstop.
I have most of the items on the menu. Their breakfast tacos are great, not the best in SA, but competitive. Their burgers and breakfast are also great options for a quick and easy meal. Everything comes out quick and hot. Worth checking out if you live in the area or are passing through.

Gotta love breakfast from the truck stop at noon. Been coming to this local favorite since I was a kid, and you can’t beat a place that serves breakfast all day long. My faves are:
Pancakes (they’re huge)
Breakfast Tacos (egg, cheese, crispy bacon)
Two Egg Breakfast (scrambled, with hash browns, crispy bacon and an English muffin)
Boom.
