We rented 2SUP’s(stand-up paddle boards) at Idaho River Sports yesterday. They were very busy, but still were very helpful and got us set up with a couple of boards. We had never used SUPs before, so they explained how it works. My sister has back problems and the boards were heavy, so we asked 2 of the employees to help us get them down to the water. They were happy to help us and got them for us right away! We had a blast on Quinn’s Pond(Verteran’s Park) and got the boards back in a little over an hour($ 20/hr). They just charged us for the one hour. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to buy or rent paddle boards and kayaks. Next up for us: renting some kayaks!

I’m a very, very satisfied returning customer. I simply can’t wait until summer! Paddle boarding is one of my favorite hot weather activities and this is where you’ll find everything you’ll need and just steps away are lakes and the river to enjoy your rentals or purchase. The staff is knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Big hugs to Idaho River Sports, I’m hooked!

My husband and I were looking to kill a few hours for the day so we stopped by Idaho River Sports. They have both kayaks and paddle boards that you can rent by the hour, and you can take them wherever you would like to go. Given that the pond is walking distance, we stayed nearby to paddle board. The man who helped us was very friendly and helpful. He even offered us a military discount, which was nice(especially considering this place is a little pricey). The pond itself isn’t that big, but it was very still and was definitely more than adequate for an hour of paddle boarding. I will say that while the pond is adequate for paddle boarding, it isn’t big enough to go kayaking. With that said, the city of Boise is working on a project that will connect the pond(along with 3 others) to the river. In other words, you’ll be able to kayak down the river and then return via the four ponds. Once this happens, I’d love to check this place out again both for the paddle boarding and the kayaking.

Wife and I were in the area for the 2014 North Fork Championships. We stopped by the shop and were very impressed. They stock a ton of top brands and have a lot of high end stuff in stock. I took a Burn 3 out for a demo($ 25/day rental) and the staff were all really helpful and courteous, even letting us store one of our boats there for the day. Head over to Alpenglow(another nice shop) if you want a Jackson Kayak(my brand of choice), but come here for Pyranha, Dagger, and Liquid Logic. They also have a large selection of SUPs and inflatables. Highly recommended!

I was not looking to go paddle boarding but I saw this place and had to stop. After talking to the girls here for a few minutes I had to try it out! The pond is amazing, the rates are reasonable and I had so much fun! I recommend this to everyone!

Very convenient place in Boise if your looking I go paddle boarding. I do feel the rental is way over priced. You have the option of either taking the board to wherever you would like to go, or going paddle boarding in the lake 30 yards a way. Fun experience overall.

This is a store whose staff eats, sleeps and breathes canoes and kayaks. No matter how technical the content, they describe things simply and clearly and with a great deal of knowledge and experience. The owner spends much of his own time and expense organizing and guiding trips throughout southern and central Idaho. The products are top of the line, and affordable … almost an oxymoron. Folks all over the northwest tend to end up here for the selection and pricing. I travel 120 miles, and wouldn’t dream of using the internet on a product they carry. Highly recommend them(I have no other connection with the store or employees).

Good place for everything you need on the river.(may have to make a trip to meridian if you need rafting gear though). Staff is super friendly and know what they are talking about. If not, they know who to ask to find an answer(that’s pretty key). Would rather shop and BUY here than online. Make sure local shops are around for years to come and shop/BUY local.

I have the pleasure of working with the coolest people ever. They know their shit when it comes to river guiding and all around river sports. So when it comes time for a team outing they snap their fingers and magically we are all floating the south fork of the Payette under blue skies and upper 80 degree temps. Actually they really have to bust ass to make all this happen, but they know what they are doing and they know where to go to get supplies. I went along for the ride to return the raft they rented(the raft was awesome by the way — low slung tubes so we got plenty wet) and the staff was very helpful and checked us right in even though we were there 2 minutes after closing time. It helped that we left the raft inflated so they didn’t have to pump it up. I’m definitely going here again when I rent equipment for a little river adventure.
