I’ve walked by the windows of Ruth’s Chris and always gleamed through the glass at their timeless presentation, full table settings, and crisp white linens. If you were to ask me February 13th, 2016, where the best Steak in town is I would say Barbacoa. They have a lot going for them and according to Bryan Miller«The disparity between a restaurant’s price and food quality rises in direct proportion to the size of the pepper mill.»(p.s. Barbacoa’s are huge) We took a late reservation on Valentines day and made the best of the late night piece of meat.(Insert Childish grin) Here’s what happened… Lobster and medium rare filet mignon: the presentation and attention to detail is a full production show you can’t deny if there’s a single classy bone in your body. They shell the entire lobster and it was served side by side with the steak on a sizzling plate of rich butter. To try encompassing the tenderness, temperature, flavor, and cut seems irresponsible because there are no words for perfection. Nodding grunts and fork gestures to the plate were the majority of our verbal exchanges as we tried to fight back our neanderthal urges to eat the entire plate with our bare hands. A mutual loving agreement was made that it had hit our top shelf first place prize for being one of the best steaks in Boise.

The chocolate explosion cake is fucking delicious! Wow is all I can say! Oh yeah and the booze were pretty amazing as well!

The whole package. The appetizers, the steak, everything was fantastic and worth the price. Low-key the best part of the meal though was the cheesecake. Maybe the best cheesecake I’ve ever had. I’ve been to over-priced steak houses and this is not one, it’s worth every penny.

Luxurious fare with excellent service make this establishment truly top notch. I had the Cowboy’s Ribeye with the blue cheese crust. The steak was cooked exactly how I prefer it; pink all the way through(medium). The sautéed mushrooms were slightly bland, but not too bad. House salad was tops as well with Balsamic Vinaigrette. Crème Brûlée couldn’t have been better. It was lusciously creamy while not overpowering. Pricey but worth it.

My husband and I went here for Valentine’s Day this year. The food was very good. We both got steak, and the plates were piping hot and sizzling. The service was the best I’ve experienced at a restaurant. We never felt as though their goal was to get us in and out as quickly as possible. It was a really cool, though definitely expensive, dining experience.

Valentine dinner. They didn’t do anything super special for this day other than a few chocolate candies, but dinner was still awesome. I never think of myself as a steak person. Would much prefer a good hamburger. But their steaks make me change my mind. Delicious. I had the ribeye and wife had the filet. Both were so awesome. Never need steak sauce for this place. Server 124 Jeff F was also very awesome. Not too obtrusive but always nearby when you need him.

My only 5 star review thus far Truly exceptional. I know that when I crave a finely crafted steak that sends my taste buds into nirvana; this is where I have to be. Expensive to be sure, but in all my travels I have not yet experienced a better steak anywhere. I also love the addition of the steak sliders at the bar/lounge area: For a very little cash, you can stop in and get a few bites of the finest steak in the state without having to budget for it. For our 18th anniversary this year, there is no other choice…

Ruth’s Chris Boise is highly recommended if you’re looking for the best steak in Boise! Don runs a tight ship! Their wine list is extensive, they pour a great drink, the service is impeccable and the food is outstanding! Whether you’re visiting our beautiful city or you’re a local Ruth’s Chris is sure to be a favorite!

I came here to celebrate my 21st birthday with my family. We made a reservation in advance, but there was plenty of open seating. We had the Spicy Lobster and Calamari appetizers and both were amazing. The Spicy Lobster appetizer is a must have, if you ask me. I’ve never had anything like it. The steak we ordered was nicely cooked and served on hot, sizzling plates. The Porterhouse for Two was my favorite — I’d say it could easily be for three. I was also given a complimentary birthday dessert and chose to go with the Chocolate Sin Cake. It was satisfying and rich although it could have been slightly warmer. One minor point of annoyance: I was asked to show my id more than once — basically every time a new server came to pour us wine. It would’ve been nice if the same waiter came or if they coordinated with one another. Overall, a nice special occasion dinner!

My wife and I had great expectations when we dined at this establishment last night. I will say the service is very good except for maybe a little too attentive. When I eat I’d like to enjoy the company I’m with, not answering a question by the staff on how I am enjoying my food. I would think once would suffice. I ordered the ribeye medium(pink all the way through). It came to me overdone and more gray than pink. My wife ordered the filet with a blue cheese crust.(which wasn’t really a crust it was just a blob of blue cheese plopped on top of her filet) She said her steak was extremely tender but had no flavor or seasoning. Her garlic mashed potatoes were a little on the cool side. Also she had the garden salad with the dressing on the side. The dressing was more of a paste than a dressing. Very thick and hard to get it on the salad. All in all, it wasn’t about the money, although it was very pricey for what we received, the food just wasn’t very good. Meat was very grainy and not very flavorful for prime beef. Lock Stock and Barrel is a better choice as is Texas Road House for a great tasting steak. We won’t be back. Sorry Ruth…

Went here because Piper’s across the street was closed on Sunday. We really enjoyed the meal – great mashed potatoes. The Salmon was some of the best I’ve ever had! Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because the servers were a little over the top cheesy… Not the biggest problem ever but sometimes I just like to be talked to like a normal person. Ha!

Ruth’s Chris is the nicest restaurant in Boise, easily eclipsing Chandlers in both quality of food and service. We were greeted by at least five employees in full suits and treated extremely well. Service and food was so good I felt guilty leaving a $ 50 tip.

I was fortunate enough to have dinner at Ruth’s Chris this last Saturday evening. When we arrived, we were seated promptly. We were offered drinks to which I ordered a dirty vodka martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. The martini was perfect and large! We ordered scallops for our appetizer which were perfectly cooked and we both had the petite filet and shrimp for dinner. My steak was perfectly cooked as well and the portion size was generous! I ended up taking half of it home for the next day. We also ordered the creamed spinach as a side… I could eat about 6 sides of creamed spinach before I could stop. Ruth’s Chris is pretty spendy(over $ 150 for two with drinks and tip), however, it is definitely a special place for a special occasion. If you haven’t been, it is definitely worth giving a try!

My girlfriend and i went out tonight to Ruths Chris. She ordered the filet and lobster. I ordered the 11 ounce filet. Hers was cooked a little too much so they cooked another one perfectly. For the inconvenience they sent out a side order for free and also gave us a free dessert. The manager came over and apologized and he seem to really care about our experience. The food was excellent and I would highly recommend this place to everyone.

Came here for happy hour and am definitely a fan. Their Sizzle, Swizzle, and Swirl happy hour menu is small but varied enough to accommodate most tastes. They offer a couple of vodka drinks(cosmo, pomm martini), a gin drink, and a manhattan for the whiskey lovers among us. I ordered their normally $ 11 Manhattan, which was very large(came served in a large martini glass), very smooth, and very strong(what’s not to love?), and at happy hour is only $ 8(and is a serious deal given the size). I also enjoyed the seared ahi tuna, which had a delicate flavor kicked up a notch with a nice(though light, not overly strong) mustard sauce. It is also a mere $ 8 on the happy hour menu. The service was friendly and accommodating. We arrived at 4:30 and pretty much had our pick of spots in the bar area – by 6pm, it was packed, so if you’re wanting to enjoy a happy hour in the bar, I would definitely get there on the earlier side of that happiest of hours(beginning at 4:30 here). I haven’t been here for a full blown meal – but given the happy hour deliciousness, that must change – soon! Until then? As far as the bar/happy hour offerings – definitely a fan! Get to it!

This was a nice Ruth’s Chris with really good service and steaks that we expected. We really enjoyed their summer selections, specifically the scallop appetizer. Steaks were cooked perfectly and always on that ridiculously hot plate. Ambience in the restaurant was nice, tables somewhat close but still distant enough to have conversation. Our server, Jason, was fantastic. He answered all of our questions and spaced out his stop bys very well. Drink and wine menu is notable, they make a good Manhattan and offered solid suggestions on wine. This is a good spot, nice to see it succeeding in Boise so far. Would definitely return based on service alone.

Even though it’s pretty expensive, it is pretty dang good! I came here for dinner for prom with a group of 10. They sat us in a private room(because someone else ended up canceling) and we got A+ service. Our waiter was funny and took great care of us. The Harvest salad was the best salad I have ever had and the filet mignon basically melts in your mouth. They even gave us 3 trays of mashed potatoes for free(which were amazingly buttery by the way.) It was a great dinner and I can’t wait to come back, probably for Happy Hour!

We tried Ruth’s Chris for the first time this past weekend. The restaurant is very nice, the food was very good and our waiter, Ricky, was fantastic! That said, our tab for three people was $ 300 and that is just too spendy for our budget. We ordered the«special» which included the main course, side and dessert. It was all very nice, but by the time we had a couple of drinks and a tip it was $ 100 a person. I’m glad we went. I don’t think we will be regulars. I’m sure there are enough higher end diners in Boise to support this restaurant.

I’ve been to Ruth’s Chris’s all over the west coast so I was pretty sure what to expect at the new Boise location and after my 3 visits I was at a stand still on comparable service and food quality. Surprisingly it was a lot more dull, no music, service was lacking and the food took surprisingly long. We ordered the crab app, filet’s all the way around and a few desserts. The filet’s were soaked in butter and I mean soaked. It was like biting into a stick of warm butter. The best thing about the meal was the amazing cheesecake. Best I’ve had in a very long time and that’s why I didn’t give it a 1 star. If you want a good steakhouse in Boise, I would definitely steer over to Chandler’s instead.
