Their breads are delicious. One of the ladies working there spend the time to tightly wrap my baguette because I told her it was going to be eaten for 2 days. Go early if you want the freshest bread and widest choice! I find it interesting that they do not have a bread slicer machine in the shop. I feel like I wouldn’t be the only person asking her loaves to be sliced. Overall, a very pleasant experience. The gentleman working kind of creeped me out with his eyebrows constantly rising and lowering as he spoke with an ominous tone and awkward pauses in between.

The lemon bars here are so good! I’ve tried lemon bars at other bakeries, and I keep coming back to the ones here. They’re not too tart and not too sweet, and soft and pillow like.(: The sandwiches and soups are good as well. The soup comes with unlimited bread which is a plus and the sandwiches make for a quick light lunch, although maybe a little plain. Other recommendations: The Rosemary sourdough bread is one of the best breads for grilled cheese. The banana bread is on the sweeter side but a perfect accompaniment for coffee(Dawson’s is right next door!).

Visited Zeppolle Downtoen Friday for lunch. I was greeted, service was friendly and fast. I got the tuna on ciabatta and it was yummy good. The bread was very fresh. A full sandwich is $ 4.99. I also bought two large cookies. I kept the peanut butter one. It was a bit dry for my preference but the flavor was good. I will visit Zeppolle again, you should try it!

I had their meatball sandwich a couple years ago and remember enjoying it, so I decided to go back for a lunch sandwich today. I got the roast beef sandwich and tomato ravioli soup. I was completely disappointed with both. The sandwich had one little piece of roast beef and that nasty shredded iceberg lettuce. I have had better gas station sandwiches. The soup tasted like it came from a can, the kind you get at the discount grocery store. There was only one other lunch customer at 12:30, this should have set off a red flag warning.

I will stop in here for lunch in between classes at BSU. My favorite: soup with the bread offered. Also, they sell the previous days bread for half price. All the bread I’ve ever tried here has been amazing. Really good price too.

A few years ago, I would grab a sandwich here a couple times a month. They used to have wonderful sandwiches… generous amounts of meat, cheese, and lettuce surrounded by a huge hunk of their outstanding village loaf. I picked up a sandwich here yesterday. Description: about 3″ square by ¾″ flat(tall.) One slice of turkey, one slice of cheese, a small amount of limp shredded iceberg lettuce on soggy bread. I thought it was odd that their sandwiches weren’t out in the display case like they normally are(it was 11:30a). Instead a sign was in their place that said, basically, «we have sandwiches, you just need to ask.» If I would have seen this sandwich I would have walked out and gone somewhere else. There are too many great lunch choices in downtown Boise to ever waste my money here again. $ 5.00 lesson learned. Very disappointed.

I work on 8th and Idaho and have lunch at Zeppole almost once a week(sometimes twice). GREAT sandwiches, and I especially love their pasta salad. Their staff is always very friendly and greets me with a smile. Can’t wait for their delicious soups once winter arrives!

Zeppole is a yummy little spot for a soup & sandwich lunch. They are first and foremost a bakery; their bread and pastries are delish. They also offer pre-made but fresh sandwiches and a couple different soups each day. My favorite is the tuna salad sandwich, I’ve never had dill in my tuna anywhere else and it’s so good! I also love how they offer unlimited bread with your soup for dipping. The only thing I wish they offered was the same sandwiches in a wheat option. The prices are great for what you get. They share a space with Dawson Taylor coffee if you need some yummy local coffee afterwards.

Zeppole is a perfect lunch spot. I love the homemade soups especially. My favorite sandwich is the veggie or anything from the grilled cheese bar. The staff is friendly and helpful, and everything is more than affordable. They also have great desserts!

I work downtown and this little place has become my staple«home» for my lunch breaks. It is very close to my heart. I want it to do well and to prosper. They have a great lunch menu for all seasons. They have Tomato Basil Ravioli soup every day, and another soup which is different each day. Wednesday is Cream of Mushroom and it is SO delicious. I anticipate every Wednesday for that reason alone. I also really love their Chicken & Wild Rice soup(Mondays) and Cheddar Veggie(Thursdays). With my soup, I get the turkey/provolone sandwich or the red pepper sandwich(vegetarian). I could eat here every day and be happy. A cup of soup and a whole sandwich costs me about $ 7. They also have a variety of grilled cheese sandwiches, which are also tasty. They also have a panini of the month, and they also have a great pasta salad. I haven’t had much of their bakery products, but they always look delicious. The village loaf they use on some of their cold sandwiches is so yummy. I hope I never have to go gluten-free! ;) This place is so cozy and is the perfect little spot to get away from the office. Their food is consistently satisfying. Tip: it’s a small place. Boise High kids flood that place around 12/12:15, so take an early or late lunch if you want to eat in peace and have enough soup bread! Oh, and once they’re out, they’re out! Sometimes if I go around 2pm, a certain sandwich or soup may have ran out for the day. It’s really hit and miss, depending on the weather and what’s going on downtown. Worst come to worst, you go with your second favorite.

The signs were confusing(which door to enter? It looked like two different businesses under the same awning even though it obviously was not) and unfortunately the spot was practically out of everything when I arrived. I would have expected them to have a wider variety of desserts, but maybe it was my fault that we didn’t get there until the after-church crowd wiped them out. I may give them another go if I am in the neighborhood though!

We visited Boise for the first time and loved the city! One of thee best discoveries was Zeppole Bakery… we managed to visit both locations(Park Center and Downtown) by chance and found both wonderful! We had a college game to attend(Rugby) and brought some of their sandwiches and desserts(yummers, the shortbread and banana bread, also the lemon squares). The sandwiches were fresh and the bread — OMGosh, the best. We are from the SF Bay Area and we have good bread but this bread was absolutely the best I’ve had, closer to the European(Country French variety) bread… we took some home to the Bay Area. I wish we had a bakery like Zeppole near us… Additionally, the staff was so friendly and helpful. Everyone was knowledgable about the breads/pastries. So homemade and awesome!!! Highly recommend this bakery… give it a try!!!

I will give them props for having a wide variety of deserts. Lots of things that were not chocolate, which can be very hard to find. I was *very* excited to see that they had fresh iced sugar cookies — that’s my default favorite any place I go. Unfortunately, the cookie wasn’t very good. It was fresh and soft; however, it had an overwhelming lemon flavor that I didn’t like. On top of that, the icing tasted as if it was a cream cheese icing(possibly even with shortening in it instead of butter), which was also something that I just don’t like the flavor of. So, instead of excitedly enjoying my cookie, I tried about a fourth of it and pitched the rest. I guess that’s good news for my waistline?

I have been eating at Zeppoles since high school and have never had a bad experience. The day to go is Thursday, when they offer up a thick and creamy Cheddar Vegetable soup. They always offer sliced bread for dipping, and the sandwiches are made fresh every day. The pumpkin loaf(seasonal) weighs about 4 pounds a slice and is one of my great weaknesses. The village loaf, baked fresh at the Parkcenter bakery, is a must try Boise delight. A note of caution– Boise high has off campus lunch and Zeppoles can have lines out the door around 12:30.

Wide variety of pre-made sammiches, vegetarian too. Also have daily soup and sammich specials: Monday — hot pastrami on rye Tuesday — french dip on baguette Wednesday — meatball on brotchen Thursday — chili in sourdough bread bowl Friday — BBQ brisket on brutti roll The BBQ brisket is my favorite. Be sure to visit before 1pm, as the specials tend to run out quickly.

Stuck downtown? Go eat some soup. I guess you can get a sandwich if you want it, or some salad. I go for the soup and bread. Especially on Thursdays with the cream of broccoli, vegetable soup for people who don’t like vegetables. Then, get some coffee at Dawson’s next door. I think the prices went up when they got their card-reader system, but their sales probably increased as well, because cash-only can be hard for some people. So they are quite as cheap as they were, but are still good tastiness for the money. If in search of something sweet to clog your arteries with(though for all I know it’s a ‘heart-healthy’ oil, or maybe it’s baked?), get a cinnamon twig! If any are left. Deep-fried(I think) village loaf sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Sugar bomb! Zeppole on 8th opens in the early morning, gets the soup on mid-morning/10am ish, usually runs out of soup round 2p or 3p, I believe closes at 5p or 6p. Look out for the Capital HS lunch rush during the school year. This location also retails Zeppole yeast breads and quick breads, saving you a trip down Parkcenter or to the Co-op.
