This use to be the spot to go for carne Asada fries. But I’ve noticed the amount of fries and meat got smaller and smaller. Compare San Diego downtown Lolita’s to Bonita. I would have to give it to downtown because they hook it up with the meat and fries. But the location in Bonita, carne Asada fries are sure not worth the money that we pay for a small amount that they give. Sorry but Bonita location, you have lost me as a customer.

**BEWAREWHENORDERINGBYPHONEORTOGO! I was craving for some bomb carne asada fries and ruined my day. By the time I got home I began to eat and they gave me OLDHARDFRIES! $ 10.00 for the carne asada fries and giving old food?

Ive been going to the Telegraph location for years. Last night was the first time I tried this location and it was kinda disappointing. Tried the cali burrito, and it was smaller than the one at the other location and 85% fries and 15% carne asada. It doesnt have the same taste either. It wasnt a bad burrito, it was just bad compared to what I expected from Lolita’s

I’ve never rated a place I’ve been to less than 4 stars. If I feel like a place isn’t all that great. Then I won’t even take the time to make a review. But this is more like a PSA or a heads up for the people that work at this particular location. This has always been our top choice when it comes to late night carne asada fries and burritos. We’ve been coming to this location for years and have been enjoying the food ever since. The food tonight was no different. But the customer service we experienced just left a horrible taste in our mouth. It wasn’t so busy when we came in. In fact plenty of seats available. Pretty rare on a Friday night. We ordered a 2-in-1 burrito, a half order of carne asada fries and a large drink. Then took our seats. A few minutes later the crowds started rolling in and the place filled up pretty quick. Order #161 was called. About 15 minutes later, #162.(We’re #163) 30 minutes later they’re calling out #171 and so on. Everyone that came after us had already received their food. The group sitting near us noticed as well and made a comment to one of the workers. We knew what to do, but we’re not ones to complain. We were giving them the benefit of the doubt. But it eventually got to that point where we just had to say something. The worst part about us telling the workers that we’ve been waiting 30 minutes for our food, was that they didn’t even have an explanation for why everyone after us had already been served. All they gave us was a shrug of the shoulders. No apologies, nothing for the inconvenience. 5 minutes later they finally give us our order in a To-Go bag, when I clearly remember saying«For Here» about 35 minutes ago. With all this said. Thanks for the great food Lolita’s Bonita. But your location really needs to look into better customer service. Peace out.

So I’ve been coming to this location(or actually original location on the left) since 1999. The food has always and still is extra delicious. Honestly I cannot complain about the quality of the food. I’m just heavily surprised that cost has gone up A LOT. Paying $ 9.45 for a burrito is ridiculous. From this becoming a religious dining out location has now dropped to a rare to no occasion for me. I will bring friends and family here who have never tried it, but won’t be as regular as before.

Lolita’s is another one of our favorite stops to get our fix on Mexican food. It’s a very clean environment, salsa’s are delicious, and the food never disappoints!

Used to be known for huge burritos and large carne asada Chips/fries. But now. its completely the opposite. Paid $ 6 for a burrito the size of a taco bell $ 1.99 burrito supreme. So disappointing. All mostly tortilla. Happened before and thought maybe that was a fluke. NOPE! So this was my last time going here. Gonna have to start driving out of my way to go elsewhere.

The carne asada fries are sooo good! I love how they have the choice of getting a small size or a large size. The price of the large size is totally worth it because you get twice the amount of a small size for only $ 3 more. They fill you up! I have had their rolled tacos before, and they were so good! I love all of the food that they have. The employees are attentive to their customers, and usually have a friendly smile on their faces. Overall, I love the place, I just wish it were a little bigger.

My family and I have been coming to Lolita’s for many years now. I’ve been highly disappointed with the decrease in quality, customer service, and ridiculous increase in prices for the same lack luster food. I’ve learned in advance to «call in ahead» for take out orders. But I’m no longer even going to waste my time coming here for anything, sooo over it. Time and time again our take out orders are either a variety of wrong or cold food, stale tasting chips, soggy fries when ordered crispy, burritos with flour tortillas overcooked and burned on the outside but the cheese in the burritos not even melted? Or ordering two of the same types of foods and each item completely made different? Where’s the consistency? Does anyone care about the quality of food being served anymore? Why on some occasions I get everything right? And then other times everything just sucks? Well shame on me now! Today was the icing on the cake for me, ordered a BEEF enchiladas plate and 2 Cali burritos. Apparently, I have to open each item nowadays before I leave any food establishment to triple check what I ordered is right. But decided to come home right away since I have 3 people very hungry waiting… Putting faith in the previous experience of my order being on point… not this time… again! Opened up the enchiladas to serve my kids… and NOBEEF… just a whole bunch of CHEESE. Our 2 Cali Burritos… cold cheese not even melted, barely any fries, sour cream on one portion of the burrito, and very, very dry carne asada… barely warm. Still ate it… So gross. But when you think of a Cali Burrito that’s not the description right? And now our stomachs are aching. I’m so over paying for bad food! Even went back to return the enchiladas because I was so irate, this place is no longer taking my money. You would think with many locations around SD this place would always be bomb… but it’s just bad now. Maybe it’s this location? But regardless of where, how about some standards for great I food for all customers each visit?

Heard a lot of good things about this place. Looked through the pictures and decided I wanted a HUGE burrito with fries. So I ordered a monster burrito– carne Asada, rice, beans, sour cream and guac, with the addition of French fries. So delicious and so huge! It literally is three meals for me. It’s definitely a fork and knife burrito. The salsas were great as well super spicy. The only downside was that I tried calling ahead to place my order but the line was continually busy. I thought that meant it would be slammed by the time I got there, it wasn’t. So idk it might be hit or miss with how long you have to wait. I only had eyes for a burrito, but definitely will come back another time and try something else.

I been hearing a lot of people rave about this place. I finally came here with a few of my friends and we ordered the carne asada fries, 5 rolled up tacos with guacamole and sour cream, and the California burrito. I was a bit disappointment. It was not as good as I thought it was going to be from everyone’s reviews. All the seats in the store was taken so we had to go outside to eat and there were a lot of flies. It was just a good eating experience. Maybe it was an off day? If I ever get the chance to try again, I just might.

I’m not sure how good this is compared to other carne asada fries because my fiancé wanted to come here… 3 times in 3 days… But they were good! Dallas, where we live, can’t seem to get it done. San Diego definitely kills them in this area. So we had that, once was for breakfast so I got a chorizo burrito and that was a lot better than I’ve had here. Not oily or super greasy. Portions are huge! Check it out!

I feel a bit bad only selecting 2 stars. But I’ve’ve been mulling over whether to Unilocal Lolita’s and could not stand it any longer. Lolita’s has been in the south bay for as long as I can remember. But I do not find any of their dishes special at all. I would hear through my inner circles how good the«fast food» was. My personal opinion is that the rolled tacos from Valentine’s, burritos from Roberto’s, plain quesadillas from Los Taquitos, and carne asada quesadillas from Taco Fiesta are far more tastier and satisfying. For all other plates not considered fast food I prefer a full service restaurant. The wait is murder at Lolita’s, their motto is «Patience is the essence of fine Mexican food», I agree. However, if the food is not fine then the wait is not worth it.

Atmosphere: It’s fairly warm inside and they have an amazinggggg salsa bar. Tidy restroom and clean tables. Service: I’ve been to Lolita’s a few times and I’ve never gotten a hello. I often feel rushed when I order because of the lack of smiles at the counter, but hey, the food is worth the less than enthusiastic customer service. But to help clarify, the service isn’t bad, the employees just look a little down haha. Food: The food here is great. Everything is made to order and the portions are phenomenal. There’s a reason why they call San Diego the home of the California Burrito, and Lolita’s has single handedly convinced me that San Diego’s reputation with the CA burrito is legitimate. The carne asada fries are just as good too. They top the fries off with powder mexican cheese which just take the fries to the next level. The salsa bar provides REALLLLYFRESH green onions, radish, jalapenos, and salsa. We’re talking like… farmers’ market fresh. I love Lolita’s. It’s a must stop for whenever I’m in San Diego~

Even though there is a grip load of taco shops in this surrounding area, Lolita’s still manages to bring in lots of customers. I’m sure by now that pretty much almost all natives in San Diego have to been a Lolita’s at some point in time, as they have several locations throughout San Diego’s south county. This place in Bonita is located in a small little strip mall right off Bonita road across from the golf course. The size of this location is quite small as there is very little dining area and serves more as a takeaway place than the rest of their restaurants. Lolita’s has kind of streamlined their businesses by giving them similar menus with just minimal differences. While they only have two hot sauces to choose from here, their salsa bar( ) features lots of extras like green onions, radish and peppers. Their hot carrots are extra unfortunately and are served under the sides menu. I’m a real big fan of their red sauce, it’s very spicy, on the thicker side, a bit creamy and has lots of flavor. Their green sauce is a little weak though, I never really care for them anyway. While most people will tell you to try their Carne Asada fries, I was interested in their so-called Monster Burrito which will run you $ 7. The burrito lives up to its name though, the thing was even bigger than the tray they served it on( ). Containing carne asada, beans, rice, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole( ) this burrito comes with it all, except fries. I had them add some of their delicious shoestring fries to it for extra. The carne asada here is some of the best in SD I think with lots of flavor, little fat, and very seasoned. They also get their fries very crispy when adding them to your burrito, I’ve never had them soggy from this place. Even though I usually go for the California here, I found the Monster burrito to be way tastier because it pretty much has everything. The super rolled tacos( ) were also pretty damn good at exceeding my expectations for being called super. Five rolled tacos with your choice of chicken, beef or potatoes topped with guac, cheese, lettuce, sour cream and some cotija for $ 7. These tacos packed lots of meat, were very crispy and they didn’t skimp on any of the toppings. They tasted great even though they were on the more pricey side for how small they are. A lot of other reviewers here complained about wait times and quality of food. In my experience here I received great service as they were able to get orders out very quickly. I waited no more than about ten minutes for my order. The quality of the food ingredients is definitely above your average taco shop. The meat used here was great stuff for being flavorful and cooked correctly. Prices for your common things such as burritos, tortas and combos were about the same as other places, it just gets expensive when you ask for substitutions or add ons. Even though others on here say this place has gone down hill, for me it’s still a great place to grab local San Diego mexican food. I just wish they served their breakfast burritos all day.

Not exactly a hole in the wall but the quality and food is just as good! Shrimp Quesadilla — not too cheesy, just enough and loaded with shrimp! Happy camper! Shrimp tacos — also loaded with shrimp and shredded lettuce! Salsa bar is cool too, radish, green onions(uncut), salsa verde, and the hot one. Hand sanitizers all around…

I very rarely go here because of the ridiculously long wait for your food. If you call in to place a ‘to go’ order, you expect your food to be ready after giving them ample time to make it. But here when you do call ahead, you will still end up waiting +30mins for your fuckin food. We placed a phone order, arrived 15mins after ordering, then waited close to 45mins for our food(1 regular order of carne asada fries and 1 small order of carne asada fries)! The staff needs to be trained on being organized and efficient. People who placed orders after us were getting their food before us! Wtf! I suggest you find a different place to go to rather than wasting your time here. But if you insist on trying their food, you will be testing your patience.

Honestly Over-rated at this point. I used to love going here, but I really dislike when we have to get anything from here. Here is a BIG TIP-if you must eat from here… be sure to order ahead over the phone or expect to wait a minimum of 25 minutes for a simple burrito. Here is an annoying factor of this place. They do not go in sequential number sequences. So you think it is almost your number and wham-it went back down twenty numbers… OK. So new flash to the back. Start picking up the right order tickets and make sure that the patrons get their meals in a more timely fashion that way. Next issue, the portions used to be HUGE. Not anymore. Now they are skimpy and much more expensive than when they were HUGE. That is a HUGE, BIG, MISTAKE. Figure it out Lolita’s because it is not finer to be waiting a long time for expensive food that isn’t even proportionate of the cost.
