$ 7 lunch combo is a great deal and surprisingly delicious. Service was pleasant. This place is clean and new and i will definitely come back.

The tofu teriyaki is terrible. Really really terrible. It should not be known as teriyaki at all.

Ordered the Spicy Maki Roll(Tuna, Salmon & Yellowtail w/avocado, tempura & tobiko) and some Tuna Nigiri. I work in a sushi restaurant so I have pretty high standards and for the price it was a solid meal. Satisfied my sushi craving, the Tuna wasn’t all that fatty but it was tasty. The ginger was pretty good too, many times that’s a good indicator of a bad sushi place. Probably wouldn’t order the maki roll again as there was so much going on with it, but the fish was fresh and it was good. Don’t think you can beat it for the price!

Got the sushi for one. It was very easy to order online and it was ready for pickup when I got to Avana. Staff was friendly as well. Nice to have a sushi place downtown in the financial district. I’ll be back.

Sushi is still very good. And it’s so inexpensive! I don’t wanna say cheap because the quality is definitely high. It’s new and seems to be completed swamped during lunch hours due to take outs, but they try their best. If you’re very particular about high standard service, don’t go… just yet. But for me, seven bucks with soup, roll, sushi, and shumai, I am gonna be there as long as they’re there.

I decided to sit down to have lunch here. I guess it’s crazier staying in the restaurant than picking up your order and leaving. The servers were so frantic. They did not acknowledge me until I asked one of them if they could take my order. I lost count of how many times they walked by me to help other people. Also, the person who was in front was also frantic. He also did not take the time to listen to what I was saying. I was telling him that I would like to eat here, and not order out. He replied, «we are not taking take out orders right now.» I had to repeat myself and tell him that I would like a table so that I can eat here. Food is okay. But, I am not sure if I’ll be coming back here to dine or order take out again…

Great sushi dinner. Same menu, same great prices and great fish. Love the new location — more room and nicer dinning area. Definitely will be back regularly.

I’ve always been a loyal customer at the original Avana in Chinatown and was ecstatic when I saw that they’ve opened a second location right downtown! Yes service might be a little slower, but that’s because they’re still new. Give them sometime to adjust! They get a lot of take out orders during lunch, so your orders might take a little longer to come out. I like the atmosphere at this restaurant more than the one in Chinatown. There’s much more space to enjoy your meal without people bumping into you every five seconds. Looking forward to my next meal there!

I am surprised that the price is the same as the original location in Ctown. You get miso soup, salad, and 3 rolls for $ 7 at lunch time. Pretty good deal to me. If you’re super hungry, you can get your own sushi platter for only $ 38. I opted for the non lunch specials because the maki choices are limited. The presentation of the food is not that great(the sashimi entrée) but portion is generous. The wings are hot(temperature) and lightly battered. Love the crispy texture to the spicy volcano maki. The waitress forgot our water so we had to remind her. Another waitress noticed that we didn’t have plates so she brought them over. Having opened just a week or so, they still need to work on some kinks.
