Really? A business that doesn’t answer their phone? How can I trust them to send special and important flowers if they can’t even answer the phone??? I was calling from the West coast to make sure the very large delivery order I was placing was exactly right. Started calling at 6 AM pacific time as they «open» at 9 AM Eastern time. Tried many many times off and on all day long and even left a message on the automated machine — not even a personal outgoing message! What a way to run a business. I know they have some very good reviews but consistency and customer service are important to me in all my dealings with a business. Get it together Back Bay — there are lots of florists in town!

Asked for flowers to be delivered «towards the end of the workday» on a Friday, so my girlfriend (working from home for the day) would receive them before I reached home myself. 4pm…6pm. still nothing. Had to call twice, only to learn «the driver said there was bad traffic» and the flowers were not delivered until 6:30, AND they didn’t even call the intended flower recipient! Just left the flowers with the building concierge without calling the phone number provided for the intended recipient. Also, the arrangement itself was not that impressive.
Needless to say, gents, look elsewhere if you’re looking to surprise your special lady at random.

This flower shop made my life much easier and i love them. my girlfriend lives in Boston and i live in NY. so when it came down to doing something nice for her birthday, i was very limited. i decided to make her a custom card and deliver flowers to her door. this shop was not my first choice, i called others and asked them if i was able to deliver the card i had made to them and for them to deliver both the flowers and the card to her at the same time. obviously i didn’t want to mail her the card and have the flowers delivered separately. many shops either charged me extra delivery for the card or just said that they don’t do that kind of thing. it really boggled my mind because i was paying for the flowers to get delivered anyway why not just add a card to it, not like i was asking them to pay for my delivery to get it to them. but if not for those problems either places were closed on Saturday or they were just too expensive.
when i called this place the lady i spoke to was very nice and eager to help me. i explained my situation to her and she said there was absolutely no problem with having my card shipped over there, and they would deliver it with the flowers no extra charge. i ended up choosing the white double stemmed orchid. which looked amazing in the photo they provided (and in the pictures my GF sent me). after making the initial order i called a couple of more times to make sure that my card was delivered. and then i called the day before delivery and spoke to the owner, again it was a very nice conversation, like the three other women i spoke to, he was very polite and understanding of the situation. i asked him if he can try and deliver the flowers and card at around 3:00pm. it was delivered at 3:20, which was perfect.
overall this place was unbelievably professional. they helped make a very stressful situation for me extremely easy and stress free. compared to other flower shops i paid less for the white double stemmed orchids. with delivery and tax it came up to exactly 100 $. in other places just for one orchid i would’ve paid about the same (not including delivery). my overall experience was great. I’ve never met anyone in the shop but would like to thank them all for their hard work. and they will defiantly be on the top of my list for future occasions. ⁵⁄₅ all day!!!

I had a horrible experience with back bay florist for my wedding. I called to order my flowers a couple of weeks before our wedding. The day before the wedding, Back Bay Florist called and told me they got the wrong colors. So I asked them to order again on my wedding day, and they promised to have the flowers ready to pick up at noon on my wedding day. Of course, they did not order the flowers again. At noon, they told me the flowers I wanted were not available. So I had to go elsewhere and find some last minute replacement. This experience almost ruined my big day, and I absolutely DO NOT recommend Back Bay Florist to any brides because you can never count on them!

My amazing fiancé always gets me flowers from here. They are so gorgeous! The color combos are just perfect. The presentation is nice as well, really chic vases.
They also last at least 5 days which is great.
One star off because it is quite pricey. But worth the splurge! Get your loved one something pretty!

My wife works in Boston and I wanted to send her flowers for our 10 year anniversary. I researched a couple of places and went with Back Bay florist because of their reviews on here. I was more than impressed at their responsiveness and their input on how to make the arrangement unique. They went above and beyond handwriting some song lyrics for me and they delivered the flowers at the exact time that was preferred. The owner himself made the delivery and communicated to me that she loved them. From start to finish, just an excellent experience!

Great quality at a very reasonable price. But the best part is the service. They are very helpful and kind, and their passion for flowers and their job makes the experience that much more enjoyable. ⁵⁄₅ definitely.

I was actually just walking to the train to meet my girlfriend when I passed the florist and said, «hmmm… Let me take a look inside.»
When I walked in, I was greeted by Lauren who helped me pick out these amazing Tulips! I did ask her the name of them and of course I forget now as I’m writing this but when I looked at them I smiled because it made me think of my girlfriend! I ended up buying 3 of the tulips and had Lauren wrap them. She put the arrangement together beautifully and I am very excited to give them to my girlfriend!
The flowers were all reasonably priced and you can buy them buy the stem too! I liked how I could mix and match if I wanted too! I definitely plan on going back and ordering/​purchasing flowers from them again!!!

My husband recently ordered flowers for me for our anniversary. There were a few challenges… but as soon as it was brought it to their attention, they fixed it, QUICKLY, and went above and beyond to make sure I had a stunning arrangement and amazing customer service. They obviously care very much about their customers and their reputation and for that, I am thankful.

We found Backbay Florist just one month before our August Wedding because our previous florist wants to stop the contract suddenly. Since we have very limited time, I was kind of concern about finding another florist in such a short time. But whole experience with Backbay was so wonderful and smooth. They were very responsive and put together a contract very quick. They could accurately get my idea and delivered exactly the wedding style in my mind. Kate, our florist, was very considerate. She went to the rental company and collect price information for different vases so that we can manage our budget. She even made me a sample bouquet at the first consulting time just for me to have a idea about how it would look like. And their price is very friendly!!! I have spoken to several florist around boston area, Backbay’s price is the modest one. I really recommend Backbay florist !!!

Kate is a a rockstar. I ordered an orchid a few hours before it needed to be delivered to a very special lady for her birthday. Back Bay Florist was out of stock (panic!), but Kate called around to other shops and tracked down exactly the flower I needed. Kate/​Back Bay Florist are in the business of solutions. This is something I value above all in businesses and people. I’ll definitely be back.

Great customer service, ordered floral arrangement for my sister to be delivered the next day. Had to call the morning of the delivery to last minute change the delivery address, I called before they were open, didn’t leave a message thinking I would call back. Less than 10 minutes after they opened I received a phone call from them saying they had missed my call. The change in delivery address posed no problem. From what I could see in the picture and my sister’s reaction, the bouquet was beautiful! Highly recommend over my usual go to ProFlowers, who would not have been able to accommodate the address change!

Wonderful boutique florist in the Back Bay. The owner designed two beautiful succulent plant arrangements for me (I used one of my own planters for one of them). Amazing selection of succulents and flowers. Very reasonably priced.

I’ve bought flowers here three times now and each time I’ve been to the store, I’ve seen nothing but the freshest flowers. Despite its size, this store has plenty of variety and the staff is always helpful and friendly. Last time I ordered through their website for a home delivery, and the service was top notch! Highly recommend this place!

Two experiences here. Well, kind of…
The first I asked them to deliver some flowers to my wife as a surprise. I gave them the address and told them when to deliver. Not only were they late, they then called my wife to let her know that the surprise delivery of flowers she wasn’t supposed to know about would be there soon.
Today I tried to swing by for some last minute flowers on my way to see my wife. No delivery this time, so they couldn’t screw that up. Even though hours say 9am-​8pm, the door was shut and locked with lights on. Call the number, no answer. No sign on the door, nothing.

I don’t usually write positive reviews on Unilocal,but I wanted to give special credit to Back Bay Florist. It has an extremely inviting, cozy, small business/​unpretentious vibe. I stopped by because I needed something quick for my girlfriend. I was in and out in less than five minutes. The help was courteous, knowledgeable, professional, and attractive. The flowers were gorgeous and fairly inexpensive, especially by Boston’s standards. This is the type of place I’d go back to for small purchases or larger ones if needed (weddings/​functions/​etc.). In a world dominated by large businesses where customer service is virtually nonexistent, Back Bay Florist gives us hope.
