Simply put: dishonest and irresponsible. This started last spring when I called and spoke to Jeremy to discuss changing out a window in one of my units. We agreed to a price and I sent in a $ 200 down payment. He never committed to a time and eventually became unresponsive. I reached out again months later and he told me he had been injured and would either figure out a new time or send me my deposit back. Neither happened and I have not been able to reach him since, not for lack of trying. Unbelievable. Stay away.

Stunned by the good reviews. I’ve never encountered a shadier outfit. Horrendous, shoddy job of replacing the glass in the front door to my shop — really poor sealing, also took them five efforts to finish the job«oh we’ll be back tomorrow» no show…“yeah we need a part, we’ll be back next week” When the job was finally done they seemed to think I’d just meet them and hand the beyond shady, non-uniformed technician a big bundle of cash. I asked for a bill…4 weeks, 4WEEKS later, still no bill, just repeated text messages to my cell phone asking to meet them with the money… including one text message at 3am the other night saying«U awake?» then 3 minutes later.“sorry wasn’t meant for you” what business owner just hands over cash? It shouldn’t be beyond the realms to be asking for and needing a bill. Save yourself a crappy job and choose another company.

This is a review for the 492 Tremont location. Do not trust these people if you care for your items. The two glass doors for a cabinet that I dropped off brand sparkling *new* came back to me heavily abused. What good is it to get them to put glass on something if in doing so they destroy the items?!? These careless incompetent people screwed the glass on the doors from the back ***through*** the FRONT side of the doors causing a crack which now shows. They also abused the corners which now have chips on them. They hold no regular business hours. They left me a rude message saying«we are going to throw your items in the garbage if you don’t pick them up». They only take cash despite having a credit card machine so as to avoid taxes. They really screwed up the aesthetics of an entire room and I now have to have the actual cabinet doors replaced. I“m surprised that they’re not out of business. Take your business elsewhere, you have been warned.

Very busy place. I just needed a couple of small pieces of glass, but they got them done for me in no time. The guys are very busy and out on jobs, so don’t expect your 20 dollar piece of glass to be an overwhelming priority, that said, they got it for me the next day I called them. Sort of a ramshackle and dark«office» but these guys get the job done! Thanks guys!

Incredible! They were out of the shop when i needed two pieces of glass cut for my bathroom vanity, 20 minutes later they told me to come down and they would take care of it! 20 minutes after that we were out the door with our new glass, it was perfect and it extremely affordable! I would go back to these guys anytime and highly recommend their services.

I needed to have some 6″ square glass pieces cut to make decorative samples. I called all around Boston. Back Bay Glass was the first to give me a reasonable quote and amazingly quick turnaround– within just a couple of hours! I would recommend Back Bay Glass to anyone who has any glass needs. They supply quality product, have excellent service and are a pleasure to work with. Also, I believe they can cut any shape, as long as you have a template. When I asked if the edges would cut my fingers, he said they’d they’d never sell glass that would cut your fingers. They sanded the edges. I highly recommend these guys and will definitely go back with my next glass project.

Extremely helpful and prompt service. I broke one of my landlord’s picture frames last night and called because I saw they offered twenty-four hours service. I was hoping to replace it before anybody even noticed! The guy on the other end was very friendly and mentioned that they could help but because it was after hours(hours weren’t listed on the website) there would be an extra fee. After we got off the phone he texted me apologizing for the confusion and saying he’d update the website and COMP me the picture frame. The next morning he texted me saying it was right outside the door for me to pick up. I’d definitely go back to these guys for any glass needs in the future.

Let’s say one is a horrible neighbor. Perhaps a horrible neighbor moving giant, heavy, awkward cases. Or maybe even a horrible, clumsy neighbor whose heavy cases impact full-light glass doors in such a way that said glass completely shatters. If said horrible neighbor asked me if I knew any places to go to get such a faux-pas fixed, I would unhesitatingly recommend calling Jason at Back Bay Glass. My service call with them this morning turned out as best as it possibly could, and had an extremely short turn around. After leaving a message on the voicemail that says«if we don’t answer, leave a message and we’ll call you back as soon as we’re off the phone’, a mere 4 minutes elapsed before he called back. He calmly dealt with my utter ineptitude at things like«remembering to take measurements of the area of glass» and talked me through the difference between laminated glass and tempered glass*. He called from the road to let me know he was on the way. On the phone, after asking if I needed this done as quickly as possible, he told me he’d arrive in an hour, and he beat me there. Everything was done within the hour. When it turned out I needed to go buy a new bottom molding, he left me a handful of the little nails. I have no idea about the price compares to other shops, to be honest, but the final charge was true to the quote and the whole thing from initial message to installed brand-new, full-light safety glass door took around 2.5 hours. He even offered to windex the fingerprints from the install before he left. Jason was the one painless part of a miserable process, and for that I promised to write this review, because he’s awesome and everyone should call when their stupid idiot neighbor breaks their glass doors. (One to grow on: Safety glass shatters into tiny pebbles instead of dangerous larger shards, and there are several different kinds. Laminated glass is made from sandwiching an interlayer between two or more sheets of glass, so the glass holds together when broken. Tempered glass has been through a controlled thermal or chemical process that makes the glass stronger and more resistant to thermal stresses, but this means the glass must be cut before it is tempered, and is therefore not available same-day.)
