As you read, please keep in mind that I’m a sucker for Christmas lights; I turn into a kid in December looking at all the houses and shops all lit up(not before Thanksgiving mind you – people who put up winter holiday décor before the Turkey comes to play should be shot). ANYWAY, Blink was pretty awesome, especially considering it was the first year. Creating two distinct shows was a smart move; it allowed visitors to have a fuller experience and not feel as though they were missing something. It was good knowing that while we ate, we weren’t going to actually miss anything. I have mixed feelings about the shows repeating. We ate at Wagamama after watching the«Main Show»(at the large tree) and caught it again from our table – it was the same exact show we had just seen. I’m not faulting the organizers – why go all out with dozens of displays when you have no idea if it’ll be successful? I do suggest adding one or two«shows» since most visitors will be around for more than an hour; anticipating new music and light choreography might entice people to stick around(and spend money!!) a little longer. Or maybe I just want more lights!

Blink! featuring the music of the Holiday Pops, is a 6-week state-of-the-art light and sound extravaganza(running until 12⁄31). This new holiday tradition uses over 350,000LED lights to illuminate Boston’s skyline. Blink! is a must-see holiday show, perfect for all ages. Nightly performances begin at 4:30 and run every half an hour throughout the property. The best place to see the show is near the giant Christmas tree. Then you can turn around to see the rest of the lights in Faneuil Hall blink too. The show isn’t too long — enough time to have fun, but not have children get bored. I watched the show with a group of adults and we enjoyed it as well. It’s definitely worth checking out while you’re in the Faneuil Hall area!
