I was visiting Charlestown and decided to drop by Decca. It is located right beside the USS Constitution in the Navy Yard. The restaurant is very informal and has a rustic look. You order at a counter and then pick-up your food in another area. At the register, they have various treats like cookies, Spindrift soda, etc. The squeeze test on the cookies probably dated to them to 2 – 3 days old though — so didn’t buy. There is no formal waiter service. They have indoor and outdoor seating. They have free ice water. The employees did not seem service oriented and the it took about 10 minutes to produce the lobster roll when the restaurant only had 3 other people… kind of slow. The lobster comes with fries and slaw. The lobster roll comes on a toasted brioche roll. It is a good portion for the size of the roll and a great value given fries are included. The«slaw» is a little bit of lettuce on the bottom roll — disappointed because I thought it was a cup of slaw. The lobster roll had good chunks of meat. The seasoning was unique with light mayo,? dill, and occasional celery. It was interesting seasoning but not my favorite although it did not overpower the meat. The accompanying fries were good and seasoned with sea salt. Unfortunately the third to last bite had some lobster exoskeleton, which made the experience fall slightly short. Overall, I liked the concept but the employees need to be more serviced oriented(e.g. not joking loudly with loud voices in the kitchen — sounded like a middle school dance, somewhat slow) and the lobster exoskeleton/hard material in one bite was disappointing. This place has potential and was overall pleased. I would not go out of my way to come here but would visit if in Charlestown.

Wow, this place is good! It was empty on a Sunday afternoon in the summer, which usually is a bad sign, but the service was friendly, prices reasonable, portions good, and the food was excellent! There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating too. Décor was simple but really clean and stylish. Had two kids’ meals, fries, a pulled pork sandwich, and a constitution burger. Everything was delicious!

It’s really close to the museum. I ordered the lobster roll. My friend ordered the lobster poutine. It seems better than mine. Overall, it’s a good choice after visiting the museum.

Two words: Lobster poutine. Served drenched in thick juicy gravy and topped with chunky cheese curds that melt in your mouth. Pretty much epic to combine the two. The dish was a bit salty but I’m really reaching for a negative here. This place is really hot though, AC would be sick. I’m just happy to see more food choices popping up in the Navy Yard.

Tucked away in the Boston Navy Yard somewhat next to the USS Constitution is this surprisingly nice little restaurant. Nothing about it would suggest it is on government grounds. With stylishly naval décor and plenty of Boston-themed menu options, this fast-ish food restaurant with somewhat less fast-ish service would be quite a bit more popular were it more easily accessible — but that is part of the allure. I tried the Decca Burger and the Lobster Poutine. Speaking of the latter, how could any seafood lover resist the temptation? Sure there may be other places to get poutine in the hub, with downtown’s Saus coming first to mind, but having lobster on this Canadian classic is unheard of. Overall, the flavors went well together, but the lobster neither looked nor tasted as fresh as I would have hoped. For the burger, the size was on the less-manly side, and the taste was good, but not nearly amazing. All in all, Decca is a very good casual restaurant with options for everyone, including vegetarians. Were it standalone in say, Back Bay, a cross-town trip could be recommended but not required. However, being where it is, one should make it a visit to the Navy Yard itself with the bonus of good food rather than a trip solely for the restaurant. (^_^) Décor (^_-) Service (^_^) Options (^_-) Taste (^_^) Bang for buck [3.5 rounded up] Glad I came. I would recommend to anyone who has not been to see the USS Constitution.

This place likely the best food in any national park you can get! To start with it’s a great place to sit. Very cool very old brick building(nice and cool in the summer) with a nice outdoor deck. The tables look like the tops of old barrels. The staff were friendly. I got a bacon cheeseburger that was really delicious. Well cooked, good flavors, good textures. The bun was excellent. My dining partner got the poutine, which was also excellent. Of note, sandwiches do not come with fries or chips, but they do come with an excellent pickle! Not some shelf stable nasty one, a really good crisp one.

Mediocre food, rude employees. Order wasn’t right and got an attitude when I tried to get it fixed.

Hard to review! 4 plus food 1 plus service… they were swamped on the fourth with an hour wait. I patiently tried to help, but got yelled out by the server… Talked to the boss and got a substantial discount… mistakes in the order, but great food!!! I will return to try this place without a rush!

Amateur hours. Extremely slow service. Ran out of time to eat lunch because spent my entire lunch break waiting for my food.

Food is solid and staff working hard. It’s barely a few weeks open. They still have some opening links to work out on the food production speed and staffing. They could use a few more people. All in all still good. The wait for food is in line somewhere between Flat Patties and Shake Shack. This is not a quick place to grab food but hopefully that will change.

Do you like lobster rolls? Do you like 200+ year old boats? Decca is for you. Right in the Charlestown Naval Yard, and next to the USS Constitution, Decca had ample indoor and outdoor(very dog friendly) seating. Lobster roll was huge and amazing. They should be serving beers in about a month which will make their patio that much better.

My husband, 2 y.o. daughter and I stopped by today to check it out. We live in the Navy Yard and were excited for a place with burgers to pop up! I have Celiac Disease, and they were very accommodating for which I am always grateful. The food is made to order so it takes the same amount of time as one would expect when eating in at a restaurant. Some other patrons seemed annoyed by this, but we were okay with it given their accommodations to my needs, the kid friendly atmosphere and the quality of the food. We will definitely be back!

Been here a few times and this is a great place to grab lunch or an early dinner. Great location in the Navy Yard but it needs some better signs to let people they are open. Heard they may be getting a liquor license which I am very much looking forward to. Prices are right and with Navy inspired décor and a patio, it’s one place to hit up when your looking for a clean, quick and easy to get to place.

We saw a announcement in the newspaper about Decca. From the description, it seems like a good place for dinner. We looked for building 10 a couple of times. As we were driving, we could not get close to Building 10. Finally I found Decca across from where the Constitution is normally tied up. Decca is open from 9am to 6pm, it serves sandwiches. You order and pay at one counter and pick-up at the second counter. There is ample seating inside and out.

We grabbed a quick, early dinner at Decca today. My fiancé had the constitution burger and I had turkey burger — both were delicious!!! The fries were yummy too. Everything including a drink was $ 21 for great quality. We will definitely be back! The outdoor seating area is a lot of fun.
