All these horror stories on here are completely true I just wished I had read them before I stepped foot in this place. This was an experience I would never want to relive. Customers are not they’re priorities instead stealing customers money is. If you do take the risk and go here I would advice you to never use your card and always pay in cash. The guy who runs the place is disrespectful and patronizing.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I should have read the other Unilocal reviews before booking through Groupon but the reviews as listed are true. I am currently disputing my charge with Groupon for a poorly communicated appointment that the owner stated I missed which was untrue. He immediately told me I could only use the paid amount of the Groupon at this point. I would rather lose my money than have this man perform any type of laser hair removal on me. He was rude and seems completely untrustworthy.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. All the previous reviews about the man in charge are absolutely true. He is not trustworthy at all. I have been trying to get my refund for more than two months. Each time I call he would say he’s helping another client and have to call me back. Despite leaving my name, number and reason for calling many times, he never called me back once. I went into the office to try to resolve the situation in person and he was very rude. I finally had to dispute the charge through my credit card company.
Like many have stated before, there are plenty of other places that will offer the same services with better customer service. Please stay far away from this place. This man does not know how to run an honest business.

The man who runs this office is terrible — unbelievably rude. I tried calling for 10 minutes to verify my appointment time given that, as another Unilocaler commented, they don’t do any type of appointment email, text, or appointment cards, and when he finally answered, he started yelling and talking over me! He is slimy and untrustworthy. He tried to make my appointments closer together than they actually should be to achieve optimal results, just so that he could get more appointments out of me. There are other places to go to get deals, don’t stoop to this level!

UPDATE: Our credit card company agreed with us when we disputed their charge, so a month or two later we have now received our money back. No thanks to the company, though, which assured us it would be a clear-​cut case in their favor, and that our only real option was to cave to their demands.

I purchased a Groupon for a series of laser hair removal treatments for my underarms at this place. They do not email/​call you with appointment reminders or provide appointment cards of any kind (appointments are 4 weeks apart). Then, if you miss an appointment, in order to come back AT ALL and use your remaining sessions, they demand a payment of $ 100 — which is the same groupon price as the entire series of treatments to begin with! Instead of allowing customers to just forfeit a missed appointment, they actually try to extort money out of you (they do not explain this «policy» up front). The technician is nice enough and does a good job (i did notice a slight reduction in hair growth after several treatments) and for that reason alone I give 2 stars. However they definitely try to scam you so buyer beware. There are many other laser hair removal spas on Newbury st with comparable offers on Groupon — I would recommend opting for another spa instead.
