Went here with a friend to grab a bite to eat with a friend on a Saturday night. The place was pretty packed, so we had to wait about 5 minutes, but then were able to be seated. I was a bit overwhelmed by the large menu so I just decided to keep it simple and go with a classic – chicken pad thai. My friend ordered a trio of apps: chicken satay, crab rangoon, and potstickers. My dish was absolutely huge – especially for the price. There was a mountain of noodles and a decent amount of chicken as well. However, there wasn’t a lot of other ingredients. I usually like to have a good amount of green onion and other veggies, but this version seemed to lack that. I also had the chance to try a bite of each one of my friends apps. All of them were decent, but I would definitely say that the potstickers were my favorite. Overall, this place gives pretty substantial portions and the service was super friendly, but some of the dishes seemed to fall short on flavor.

I went to House of Siam on a random weeknight. It was almost empty. I found the inside of the place to be really interesting, there’s a lower level you can see that houses the kitchen, with a walkway over that level up into the back of the restaurant with more seating. We were seated in the back and were the only ones back there. I thought the décor was interesting too. I got the Spicy Chicken and it came pretty quick. I thought it was good. I was puzzled that there wasn’t many people eating in the restaurant, it seemed better than the amount of people inside would indicate. Perhaps it has a heavy volume of takeout, we did see a umber of people come and pick stuff up when we were eating there.

I used to work next door to there so I’d go quite a bit. The décor is nice; I like the atmosphere a lot. And the I’ve always encountered considerate and welcoming staff. The food is good too. Thai food is my absolute favorite so I’ve been to a few different Thai places and this is my favorite sit down place. I recommend it.

I am so disappointed in house of Siam in my neighborhood. Chicken and veggies are hard as a rock. Most certainly pre cooked days earlier. No effort made in the sauces. The house of Siam on tremont is better, but they both should go eat at Equator to taste fresh thai. I write this review after discussing my disappointment in person and emails to them. They are always empty and their Best of Boston and Zagat are from a decade or more. They won’t last n this increasingly foodie neighborhood. Service and staff are good.

I was visiting a friend in Boston and House of Siam was right around the corner so we decided to give it a try late night. We arrived about 35 minutes before closing time with a party of four and were asked if we could eat fast because they were closing in half an hour. While I understand everyone wants to get out of work on time, that’s poor service. In my opinion, a restaurant should close when the last patron leaves and be happy they’re there. While that turned us off a bit, the food was excellent. I didn’t get very adventurous and ended up getting the pad thai but here’s the kicker… duck pad thai! This isn’t something I’ve ever seen at a Thai restaurant you usually have your standard chicken, beef, or shrimp if you’re lucky. But yes, the duck was as good as it sounds. Pad Thai’s all about the sauce and House of Siam delivered. Good portion size, I’d definitely come back again. Just as long as I come earlier!

The food was okay. I got take-out, so it’s probably a little below the in-house quality. I had the bangkok duck, which was somewhat underwhelming — the breaded duck was ok, but it was lacking in sauce, and on top of that, the sauce was lacking in flavor. On the other hand, the chicken dang-dang was pretty tasty. I suspect that what’s going on with this restaurant is that it has a huge number of items on the menu, some of which are quite good, and most of which are a bit of a miss. So I suspect that locals will be able to get much more out of this place than visitors.

The food wasn’t too bad and it wasn’t that great. Maybe it was just the dish I ordered-the seafood power station, but I felt that it was more on the bland side. The prices were a bit pricier than expected. The wait for the food was a bit longer than expected, probably because they have so much take out and delivery going on. On the other hand, the restaurant décor was adorable. Fresh flowers, string of lights, and lots of red. I think this restaurant has a lot of character in terms of their décor. The food was fresh, lots of seafood(especially the missiles were very yummy) and vegetables! The servers were attentive enough and kind. I don’t remember having any trouble with their delivery, which seems to be the more popular choice here. I think this place would be better if they added more spice and flavor to their dishes. Overall, I think this is a pretty solid place… I’m just not crazy about it.

ALWAYS get the basil chicken. Definitely a solid go-to, and enough for two meals if you get double rice.

I’m not sure if it was 15 minutes before they closed, or just because they aren’t used to African American people coming in, but they were extremely rude to me and my brother. And one of the men who worked there made a slight joke about why we were there… One top of the rude service, not even 15 minutes after I ate my food it came right back up.

Worst meal ever. Shrimp tasted like it was laying out for 5 days unrefrigerated. I also saw a cockroach crawling across the floor. Typical asian Boston restaurant — overpriced bad atmosphere and sub par food.

Very cute place with authentic vibe for mixed Asian cuisine. Décor was typical and stylized, service was pleasant and unobtrusive. Flavoring for the dishes was a tad bland, nothing remarkable. Altogether satisfying and the price point was affordable.

Went to this place twice. First time wasn’t so bad and what you’d expect from a decent Thai restaurant unfortunately we didn’t finish our meals this time because WEFOUNDMULTIPLESTRANDSOFHAIRINTHEFOOD. Absolutely disgusting. We let them know and they didn’t charge us but the damage is done. We will never go back here again.

Small, but clean, nicely decorated. My wife and I asked if they could play Thai music as we weren’t interested in listening to Britney Spears in a Thai restaurant, and they accommodated us. Hey, ambiance gives you more of that authentic feeling. The food was very good, fresh veggies, etc. However, the menu doesn’t match what you get in few items. I ordered fresh rolls. The menu says it comes with Cilantro. However, there was no Cilantro. My wife ordered The Power Station meal. No mention of mushrooms, string beans, and baby corn in the menu. But that’s what came with the other listed items. Luckily my wife likes these veggies. The point is, what if she didn’t and had to pay for what she didn’t eat? Prices were comparable to other Thai places – in the $ 14 range for entrees. This please was ok. No worse or better than a lot of other Thai restaurants I’ve been to.

This is a review on mt Take-Out experience — –but it says a lot for the staff as a whole. This place is terrible — –not only is the food overpriced and barely edible — I’ve never experienced a more unpleasant staff. The first visit I made — and also the last — I ordered take-out. When I arrived to pick up my meal at the time period they told me — my food was not ready and I had to wait an additional 20 minutes — –the best part is, the restaurant was completely empty. As I was waiting the additional 20 minutes, the cash register clerk told me that I was to «Pay Now» — — I handed over a $ 20 dollar bill and he put my change on the counter. When I went to go pick the change up, he swatted my hand away and said«NO. You wait for food to come out.» Completely stunned, I didn’t really know how to react. THEN, when the food did finally come out A TOTALOFANHOURLATER — –he goes to give me my change and has shorted me $ 2. WHen I point this out, he tells me I am wrong and that this is my change. I KNOW this is not my change because I am staring at the total and also I passed 1st grade math. He completely ignored me and walked away leaving me with the incorrect change. Finally another employee came out and helped me to my correct change. In the future, if my choice is either starving to death on the side of Columbus Avenue or entering this establishment — — I choose the former.

Not sure why the reviews here aren’t better. Best Thai takeout spot in Boston. Traditional pad thai and their steamed dumplings are the best I’ve ever had. Their crab rangoons are very different from Chinese rangoons(I think I detect some saffron in them?) and delicious. But my favorite dish here is the thunder chicken w/white rice. Its very spicy, but extremely flavorful. Its a simple dish, but its done perfectly. The heat builds and builds as you eat — but you can still taste the peppers, onions, Thai basil, and the salty/a tiny bit sweet sauce. Delivery takes about 45 – 60 minutes, but its well worth the wait and their drivers are extremely friendly.

A month ago I got to physically eat inside the restaurant with my friends. I feel pretty much the same as my previous review. The service is friendly, but when I asked them to make my noodles really spicy, they did not. I’m put off from ordering from them in the future, but I know they have lots of room for improvement. Their restaurant is really spacious & appropriately decorated, encapsulating a contemporary meets Thailand theme.

I had the vegetable pad thai and vegetable spring roll last week and it was delicious! I could eat those spring rolls all day, the best I’ve had in a long time. My mouth is watering just thinking about them! FYI if you are hosting an event at home or in the office, they can prepare large portions for about 20 – 30 people and it tastes just as good as if you were dining in the restaurant.

We ended up coming here after the restaurant we intended on going to had a 40 minute wait that we just weren’t able to handle. Our only concern was whether or not it had a liquor license, and luckily they had a small selection or beer and wine so we were happy. It’s a small restaurant but it was pretty empty so we were seated right away. The staff is very friendly and definitely not too overbearing, which can happen relatively often. The atmosphere was nice — very calm and inviting while being low-key and comfortable. My friend and I got the pad c u(that’s how they spelled it, I swear!) and the crispy pad thai. The food came out pretty quickly so we were definitely super pleased about that, and the portion sizes were big. The amount of wine they served per glass was also generous, so we could not have any complaints on quantity at all! The food was very good and the chicken wasn’t overcooked thankfully because that’s almost always the biggest problem I find with many Thai restaurants. It wasn’t food that absolutely blew our socks off, but it was very good nonetheless. Definitely recommend this place for a nice, simple, easy Thai dinner date!

I don’t feel like I’m a growing fan. I’ve tried it several times, but the food really lacks the flavor that I’ve grown accustomed to with some of the other Thai restaurants in the same category. They can make food spicier, but it’s just hot… not flavorful. Their service and ambiance is really good. You’ll get very nice and generous service from the moment you enter. The place is decorated presently with traditional Thai styles. Their prices are very reasonable however it may be reflective of their product. They could easily raise their prices if they would focus on providing very top quality tasting Thai dishes. I’ll continue to consider this place, to see how I like it. However the business seems to be drawing consistent customer streams. So I may not be a target client. I wish them even greater success.

Would I recommend actually eating here? No. But this place is great for takeout. I live across the street and default to House of Siam when I have no idea what I want for dinner. The other night my boyfriend and I shared Fresh Rolls, dumplings and shrimp pad-c-u. The fresh rolls tasted, well, fresh, but there’s only a teeeeeeny bit of shrimp in them. Would I order again? Pass. The dumplings were tasty. The manfriend wanted them fried which I wouldn’t usually go for, but they were flavorful and the dipping sauce was light with a little bit of spice. Yum! The pad-c-u was the highlight of the meal. Although it was a little greasy and the shrimp were a little overcooked the noodles and spinach were delightful. Mmm!
