Stay away!!! Overpriced, slow, and full of tourists! Paid $ 8 for a medium froyo with 2 toppings that wasn’t even filled half way in the cup. For an $ 8 froyo– it better look pretty and filled to the top-come on guys!

Ice cream is pretty good, I had a pistachio sundae. Experience could have been better if the staff wasn’t so rude.

Though I’ll always prefer Ben and Jerry’s, this is one of my favorite places to get ice cream in the area. My go-to flavors are the peanut butter frozen yogurt or, if I’m feeling more indulgent, cookies and cake batter, but it’s worth sampling the rotating flavors as well. Personally I’m always on the lookout for white coffee and chocolate chip cheesecake. The size of a small can vary a lot based on who’s scooping, but it’s usually fairly generous. A small is just over $ 5, while sundaes run $ 7 – 8. If you’ve got a celebration coming up, their ice cream cakes are delicious and definitely please a crowd.

Wow, the ice cream here is delicious and local! I love everything here and this time I got once scoop of the nutella, and one of the strawberry. I thoroughly enjoyed both! The strawberry is creamy and delicious while being perfectly sweetened. I love strawberry with chunks and this place added just the right amounts The nutella was creamy and also just as delicious. I can’t imagine a better flavor of ice cream. You will be paying for gourmet ice cream, but it’s worth it if you are a ice cream fanatic like me! A must visit if you are in Boston!

Five stars, two thumbs up, and two scoops! I wanted cookies and I wanted ice cream, so I got a scoop of cookies and cookie dough and a scoop of cookies and cake batter. It was the perfect dessert after dinner nearby with friends. Never mind that it was cold that night, this is a good summer treat for all year long in Boston!

Came here before st paddys day and got the shamrock mint shake, or whatever its proper name is. YUM. Oh my god, yum. I love all things mint, and the mint chips just took it over the top. I also have an extreme obsession with sprinkles, which he made sure to take care of. The only bad part of this experience was getting too excited and dropping some on my shoe. I can’t wait to come back!

Elvis, Rachel and Gabrielle opened the doors for us moments after they had closed and locked them for the evening. We were dying for ice cream and they delivered. They went above and beyond for the customer and we really appreciated it.

I’m a soft serve guy. And for soft serve — frozen yogurt, whatever variation you want to go with — JP Licks is the best in Boston. Not saying a lot but it’s the life we got. Interesting, constantly rotating flavors and loads of options for your hard ice cream or coffee loving friends. Big, comfortable layout too. While the soft serve isn’t THE best(I like a bit more creaminess) and the pretzel cones are the weak, non-salty kind that really aren’t pretzels at all I still rank this as my #1.

This used to be the closest Jp licks to my apartment. I used to go there every once in a while when I didn’t feel like dealing with the parking situation at assembly row. Although this was closer, I honestly preferred the assembly row store which is much nicer in ambience and the ice cream tastes fresher. I never bother with their soft serve frozen yogurt because whenever I sampled them, they tasted icy and bad. I recommend sticking to the hard frozen yogurt or ice cream if you can afford the calories. The employees are rarely friendly and even seem annoyed at times when you ask for samples. Portion sizes are pretty stingy but it could be because I’m spoiled by the low price and huge portions at richardsons. Parking is street only and metered. It’s not the easiest to find a space. The store has ample seating and you won’t have difficulty getting a table. Best of all they are open late. I would go to the assembly row store if you can. Lastly, the ice cream is delicious and the best in Boston.

Friendly staff and great coffee and hot chocolate. After moving from DC, I was looking for a new neighborhood favorite for my caffeine fix and I’m so happy I found this place! Not to mention they also have ice cream year round and all day — how many places can say that?!

I made a sandwich with one chocolate chip cookie, one double chocolate cookie, and coffee cookies and cream ice cream sandwiched in between. The ice cream was very good. Perfect combination of coffee flavor and creaminess of the cookies and cream. The cookies were okay. They were kind of hard. I also had an iced chai tea latte. It was a little too sweet for my taste and I couldn’t appreciate the spices of the chai. In short, the ice cream was good and the other items were average.

I have been here a few times and always feel it is worthy of 4 stars. Ice cream is fine, frozen yogurt a bit uninspired though. Pretty popular place.

We used to live in Boston and would frequent J.P. Licks(which we found out about on a Food Tour we went on) as often as possible! Since we lived in the NE, getting to JP Lick’s wasn’t the easiest, but Hubway bikes are GREAT, and there’s a station right outside the store. So many delicious flavors of ice cream, and topping options(i.e. cookie dough!!). The portions are great, prices are a bit expensive, but well worth it. When we were back visiting this past weekend we made sure to make a stop and it did not disappoint.

Great ice cream! The employee’s were fun and dancing. They made the experience of waiting in line not as dull. Would definitely recommend to anyone! Only downside is the prices, but again, it’s Boston.

Smaller JP Licks location but still nice. Had the wild blueberry sorbet with some mango and granola for toppings. Not a ton of seating, but a fair amount that felt a bit disorganized in the set up. Friendly staff and similar prices to other ice cream places like Ben & Jerry’s, but cheaper than Coldstone Creamery. Overall an okay experience, I think it would be better for a grab n go type of thing though.

Free ice cream on your birthday! Best idea ever. Although it’s probably nicer if your birthday is in July or August. Sorry February birthdays. The location is perfect, right on Charles St. in Beacon Hill. The perfect place to grab something sweet after a good meal. Also a good place to visit after a run by the river. Everyone knows you need to put calories in to burn them… All in all JP Licks is a Boston classic(or so I’m told because I’m not actually from here). They have staple flavors but also rotate some out each month to get some seasonal flair. Just in case freezing weather and snow isn’t enough to tip you off that it’s winter. Try the coconut almond chip. I sincerely believe it to be the best flavor, mint chip is the second best, pistachio comes in at third.

Good ice cream with plenty of variety although I do think Toscanini’s is better. Service was somewhat slow when I was there since there was only one person making drinks and other taking orders for ice cream along with cashiering. Could use more staff if there’s so much on the menu that one large item easily slow everyone down.

JP Licks is a Boston name known for home made ice cream, frozen yogurt and fresh coffee. My sis and I visited Boston last summer and Beacon Hill is such a cute neighborhood for an after dinner stroll. Because it was still 80 degrees at 9pm, ice cream was definitely in order. The staff efficiently handled the throng of people who came in, a lot of whom took their time tasting samples and waited long before deciding what to order. I rarely eat ice cream(yeah, I’m one of THOSE people!) but I usually would go for a coffee flavored one. The Cappuccino Crunch was exactly what I wanted! little bits of heath bars, choco pieces and very strong coffee flavor. Prices range from $ 3.50 up per cone, so don’t be a cheapie and splurge on your frozen treat!

Based on all of the places I’ve had in LA and NY, this ice cream seemed just OK. Kind of like a glorified baskin robbins or something. TRANSPORTATION: We were staying in beacon hill so this was a quick walk but if you take the red line and get off at charles then it’s like a 2 – 3 minute walk. ATMOSPHERE: It’s narrow but pretty big inside, with seats that line the windows and then some small tables. The table looks like a cow spot. FLAVORS: We only tried one flavor, their special apple crisp. It actually tasted better the more I ate it. It had bits of crust or dough inside, which I liked and a subtle apple/cinnamon flavor. Their ice cream has a slightly creamy and thicker taste/consistency. Overall, it’s decent but I guess we had to try it once since it’s boston founded!
