One of the best Indian food in Boston. Nice portions, not very spicy, good ingredients, romps service, lively atmosphere. Recommend this for lunch.

Best Indian food I’ve had in Boston! The staff are always great there and so is their food. I’ve become a regular becauThey never do me wrong! I usually get veggie pakoras, chicken korma curry and raita(delicious yogurt that makes curry tastes sooo good). Soooo delicious and reasonably priced! I take all my friends here when they come visit and they love it. I highly recommend

Sometimes reviews are out of sync. I went here with my family because my daughter was starting school here. This place had 3.5 stars and I sincerely believe this place deserved lot better. The food was awesome and the attention to good service deserves a much better rating. I ordered tandoori shrimp and missi roti and it made my tongue dance. The waiter brought the food as we had asked with exactly the spice level we asked. Friendly too. Overall an excellent place!

Decided to go here after work on a Tuesday, no problem making a reservation for 5:30pm at 5:20pm on Opentable. Checked in at Unilocal, but the restaurant didn’t honor the«One Free Mango Lassi» with the Unilocal check-in. Our server was extremely confused when I asked her about it, she had to ask her manager and then came back saying they do not offer free promotions with Unilocal check-in. I’m not used to eating Indian food(only my second time eating Indian food in my life), so I asked the waitress for her recommendations. She seemed confused about what we were asking her, but she finally offered some suggestions of popular dishes but was really hesitant — which made me nervous if the food would be any good. Food was just ok to me. We ended up getting the spicy chicken masala, the tandoori mixed grilled, and the stuffed basket of naan. The spicy chicken tiki masala was spicy and flavorful. Also came with a side of balsamic rice, tasted regular but the portion was pretty big for a side. The mixed grill tandoori came with shrimp, chicken, pork, lamb, and veggies with a sweet yogurt sauce on the side. The chicken was very juicy, but the pork and lamb looked overcooked. It tasted very dry and was not very tender to chew through. We even thought the pork was very cooked white meat chicken when we were cutting into it. Also felt like this dish was a bit expensive for the portion — $ 23. The stuffed basket of naan came with garlic naan, potato naan, and onion naan. Garlic naan was my favorite. The potato and the onion naan were a little soggy in my opinion. A stuffed basket is definitely made for sharing — came with 10 – 12 pieces of naan.

I liked the food and the service here. I ordered the vegetable vindaloo and found it too spicy but they allowed me to change my order and did not charge extra. I’ll come back because of their graciousness.

I’ve been here for dinner and I’ve been here for the lunch buffet. It’s good and either way I am happy to be eating Indian food. Lots of vegetarian options. A solid choice on Newbury street.

A cozy, well decorated restaurant with great food and service. The tandoori chicken and gulab jamun are a must order.

We had Tandoori Lam and Chicken Tiki Masala. Lam was 9⁄10 lean, tender, juicy, nice 2″ cubes over a hot plate with curry a cause on the side. The comers were a little burnt otherwise a 10. The Chicken Tiki Masala was 8/10, the scalar was not as thick as expected, the chicken was well cooked, and tender. The basmati rice was great as expected a 9. The server Bavik was attentive, police and polite he did a great job, hence I added ONE star. I do recommend this restaurant, however(NOTETOTHEOWNER) you’re in prime location in Boston, the bathroomS were a mess, I said a mess. If you intend to keep the doors open You must fix it to the standard of Boston. For this reason I deduct ONE star.

Malai kofta is amazing here best in Boston and all of Massachusetts been coming here for 5 years now and they never disappoint. Food is always made fresh and naan is perfect. Recently renovated the interior and a lot more space for guests, great ambiance for a group or a date.

I’ve become the dutchess of this place two times in a row which means I know what I’m talking about. Kashmir has definitely transformed in the last year. The new, intimate décor attracted my attention right away. The place has become more intimate and fancy. Favorite plates: Shahi Paneer Korma & Chicken Tikka Masala. Always get Naan Bread and Mango Lassi. The food stands out as always and it invites you to try even more things. I don’t get tired of visiting Kashmir and there’s always the reminder in the back of my head to just go back. Bring some friends and share the experience!

I took my girlfriend here on a date and in terms of not being familiar with Indian food, it was a great place to go. Great outdoor seating and a place to people watch. The staff could have been more attentive, but not terrible. I’m a vegetarian and got the Aloo Gobhi with garlic naan and my girlfriend(a serious carnivore) got the Rogan Josh. I enjoyed being able to select the spiciness of the dish. Overall, the food was great! Reasonably priced for the portion size and being located on Newbury.

Our waiter was super nice to us and explained everything in detail since we are unfamiliar with the Indian cuisine. The environment is rather calming; the chairs and the tables are very fancy looking. Everything is very clean. I got the lamb vindaloo from the lunch special and the curry comes in a small plate with an abundant amount of rice. Overall the food is good and it’s not too spicy even though I got the hot version. One thing to note is that the meat in the curry is kind of dry compared to the meat platter. All of my friends thought it was dry and not that definitely affected the taste.

I have been to this restaurant a few times and had never felt satisfied by the service or the food. The only reason I’ve come here is for its convenient location but after today I will not be returning. They took away their buffet and in replace brought in foolish«Lunch Specials». These specials are common dishes like tikka masala, chicken curry, etc. From $ 10-$ 13 these dishes are laughably small and come with just rice. If my iPhone photos weren’t full I would have snapped a photo. but if you’re ever so daring to actually order a lunch special, don’t say I didn’t warn you about the insanely small size! Service is very poor as well. The restaurant was empty today and it took forever just to get our orders in and water glasses to be refilled. Although I could rant much more, I’ll stop here. There are so many other Indian restaurants that I would rather bring business to.

The place was not too crowded on a Saturday night, so were happy to be seated right away. Service was prompt. Ordered some appetizers — chicken tikka and chaat; saag and chapatti for main course. the chicken was dry and flavorless, could use with a more marination, the chaat was ok. the saag was flavorful and chapatti was fresh. A tip to the management: you should think about playing some more contemporary music, even if it is Indian.

Been here many many times! Not sure what the best part is; the excellent location? The plethora of options on the Naan bread? The excellent service? Or the beautiful copper service dishes? But alas, the food trumps all! I love getting the garlic naan, the chicken vindaloo, samosas and palak paneer. All in all, this is an excellent choice. I will admit that when it’s busy, the service suffers greatly.

Can NOT beat the buttered chicken in this place. It’s an off-menu item that almost all Indian restaurants have, but this place does it so well, that after almost 2 decades of eating here, and travelling the world, Kashmir’s version just can’t be beaten. In fact, the only place that comes close is in little Bangladesh in Los Angeles. Furthermore, on several occasions, it is also the only restaurant and dish where my vegetarians break their diets for meat. Yes. It’s that good. For a little variety, I tend to mix one of the dahl(lentil) dishes with it, and it’s good with either naan(and they have a nice variety), or a rice dish, for those gluten-sensitive patrons. I’m not a huge fan of their curry. It’s ok, but not anything to write home about, so if you’re a curry fan and know what you’re doing, I recommend passing on it. Their chicken tikka masala is also very good, and for your palate cleanser, they do a standard(and good) job on their mango lasi.

After shopping on Newbury Street, my boyfriend and I arrived for dinner at Kashmir on a Sunday evening. We opted for patio seating since the weather was perfect. Our server arrived promptly at our table almost immediately after we were seated. He was very friendly and asked if we had dined at Kashmir before. We had not so he offered to answer any questions we had about the menu. We ordered the tandoori mixed grill to start, and we both ordered chicken tikka masala for our entrees. Kashmir offers to have your dish prepared mild, medium or hot. We both chose medium. We also had to order some garlic and traditional naan. Service was incredibly quick. Our appetizer arrived within 10 minutes of ordering and our entrees shortly after. Everything was delicious. The chicken was moist and flavorful, and the naan was incredibly soft and warm. We will definitely be returning to Kashmir when we need to quench our cravings for Indian cuisine.
